Chapter 365: Chapter 199: That Kiss Just Now Was a Thank You, My Kisses are Quite Expensive (1 more)
Hunter Warren received a text from Lucas Warren in the afternoon.
I’m leaving. From now on, take good care of Faye Townsend. If Faye isn’t happy, I won’t let you off the hook.
Remember, you’re not the only one who loves her in this world.
Also, you really misunderstood her about what happened back then.
She loves you so much, how could she possibly have done something like that with me?
That day, I just went into her room. She was sleeping soundly, so I lay down beside her...
The key to your house was something I noticed on the desk in her study when I visited Grandma.
At the time, I just wanted to break you two apart, so I took the key right away.
That day, I deliberately set you up, sent you a text to make you come home, just to make you lose hope in her.
And as I expected, you misunderstood us. That’s all.
Hunter Warren looked at the text and curled his lips into a smile. He had long ago trusted Faye Townsend, so clearly Lucas Warren’s efforts now were unnecessary.
But still, this was good news. Lucas Warren was finally willing to let go.

Six months later
At the Townsend Corporation’s presidential handover ceremony, Richard Townsend personally reclaimed the company seal that had been taken by Faye Townsend years ago.
"I never thought the day would come when this thing would return to me."
Hunter Warren stood to the side, holding his wife close, and smirked, "Well, you didn’t think I’d lend my wife to you forever, did you?"
"Alright, Mr. Warren, no matter how slick you talk, you’re still my brother-in-law."
"I’m not the timid fool who used to be scared to death every time I saw you. So there’s no need for these jokes."
"Your wife? Leaving her here to annoy me is the last thing I want."
"She’s even more trouble than the nitpicker I have at home."
"If she doesn’t find fault with me at least 300 times a day, she won’t stop talking."
"And coupled with my stubborn sister constantly pressing me, work has become utterly frustrating."
Faye Townsend pursed her lips, "Well, isn’t it because you’ve got issues to be nitpicked on?"
"Besides, where’s the drama queen in my sister-in-law? She serves you like an emperor every day. What more do you want?"
"I’m not saying I want anything; I’m grateful to you for setting us up. Happy now?" Richard Townsend said while rolling his eyes at her.
Faye raised her eyebrows, "Sure, why not."
"If there’s nothing else, we’ll be heading off now."
"If there’s any issue, just call Declan."
"Our Deputy General Manager doesn’t work for nothing; he’s sharp at handling matters."
"Oh, please. I’ve noticed you always side with others."
"Everyone else is fantastic, and I’m the only loser, right?"
Faye threw him a look, "I don’t care now; I’ve handed the seal back to you."
"Everything else is up to you to deal with."
"Let’s go, darling."
After saying that, Faye turned and linked arms with Hunter Warren, walking away.
Richard Townsend watched the two leave and smiled faintly.
Recently, his sister had been acting overly girlish, especially favoring pink clothes.
One day, he joked with Brooke, saying, "Faye Townsend is really like an old cucumber painted green—parading around in pink clothes every day as if she could still pass for eighteen."
But he hadn’t expected Brooke to counter with a sharp tongue.
She said, "At least she has a youthful mindset, but she’s still far ahead of you."
"You’re getting up there in years, but you still hang out in bars every day. What, do you think hitting on women nonstop could somehow make you fifteen again?"
"With that old face of yours, stop overestimating yourself."
Thinking back to Brooke’s expression at the time, Richard got a shiver down his spine.
Why am I thinking about her? Must be losing it.
Hunter Warren left the Townsend Corporation with Faye Townsend and immediately called Oliver Turner.
"Where are you?"
"At the office."
Hunter Warren glanced at his watch, "It’s almost eleven, why haven’t you set off yet?"
Oliver Turner scoffed, "Don’t you know that stars are supposed to show up last?"
"You? A star? More like a street vendor. You’re just a bachelor, showboating about nothing. Hurry up, don’t make us wait."
Oliver Turner rolled his eyes, "You don’t remember why I ended up single, do you?"
"If you hadn’t stolen my wife, would I be alone now?"
"If she could be taken away, she was never yours to begin with. Stop whining; Faye and I are already on our way. Whoever’s late buys."
Oliver Turner sighed, "You two really know how to rip people off."
Faye leaned close to the phone and shouted, "Clara has already arrived. Now it’s just a race between us. Mr. Turner, the competition starts now!"
After saying that, Faye promptly hung up.
Oliver Turner set down his files, grabbed his keys, and headed downstairs to leave.
He entered the parking lot, and as his car rapidly backed out, there came a sudden "thump."
He immediately hit the brakes, feeling as though he might have just hit something.
