"Faye, are you busy?"
"Not busy, I just went out for a bit and have just returned to the office."
"That’s good, come to my house for dinner tonight."
"Sure," Faye Townsend turned her head and smiled at Hunter Warren.
"Hunter Warren is welcome to join if he’s free."
Hunter Warren waved his hand.
Faye smiled and said, "He has a social engagement tonight, I’ll go by myself."
"That’s fine, what about the two kids?"
"Uncle Rivers is with them, don’t worry."
"Alright, I’ll have someone prepare the meal."
After hanging up the phone, Faye asked him, "Uncle Forrest invited you to dinner, why aren’t you going?"
"Has Uncle Forrest ever asked you to dinner on such short notice before?"
Faye thought for a moment and shook her head, "Not really."
"I think he might have something to discuss with you, inviting me is just for appearances.
If I actually went, it would be quite inconsiderate.
It’s fine, go by yourself; I’ll go back and keep Darnley and Miya company."
"Uh... okay, I’ll head upstairs first then."
"Alright, we’ll be in touch by phone."
Faye got out of the car and waved goodbye to Hunter Warren with reluctance.
Hunter watched her with a smile as he backed the car away.
After going upstairs, she handled work matters for over two hours before coming out.
If it weren’t for going to Uncle Forrest’s, she might have returned a bit later.
She went to buy gifts and the pastries Uncle Forrest likes before heading directly to the Forrest mansion.
The household staff greeted her warmly and helped her carry things inside.
Uncle Forrest was on the balcony drinking tea. Faye greeted him while changing her shoes, "Uncle Forrest."
He waved her over, "Come, have a cup of tea with me."
Faye jogged over and sat down in a single chair.
Uncle Forrest, who has been in a wheelchair for years, doesn’t use this chair often.
In the past, she always sat here.
Seeing Grayson Forrest looking unwell, Faye asked, "Uncle Forrest, have you not been sleeping well lately? Your complexion isn’t great.
I’ll ask the doctor to come and help you adjust."
"Oh, at this age, things can’t always be perfect.
For a cripple like me, living this long is already enough."
"Uncle Forrest, stop saying nonsense," Faye pouted unhappily, "You’re still young."
Grayson laughed heartily, "Only you, this little girl, would humor me.
If it were that boy Kay Forrest... tsk tsk, never mind, I won’t talk about him.
Talking about him just frustrates me."
"What happened, what did Forrest do this time?"
Faye poured him a cup of tea, "Here, let me pour you a cup of tea to calm you down."
"Faye, tell me the truth, is that boy in a relationship?"
"In a relationship?" Faye was truly surprised by this question.
She looked at Grayson Forrest in confusion, "No way... he never mentioned it to me.
If he were dating, he might hide it from you, but he definitely wouldn’t hide it from me.
And I wouldn’t hide it from you."
"So you don’t know either," Grayson sipped his tea, "That’s strange."
"Why? Did you notice any signs of Forrest being in a relationship?"
"A while ago, I called him around five in the morning, and there was a girl’s voice beside him."
"That’s... quite normal, Uncle Forrest, Forrest is a man too; having a woman for company is normal."
"The key is, something was off at the time.
I heard a girl’s scream over the phone, and then Kay Forrest hung up on me.
And afterward, he wouldn’t answer when I called back.
Later, when he called me back, he wouldn’t let me mention it again.
I think... there’s probably something wrong."
Faye nodded, "Uh... okay, I’ll give Forrest a call later.
Once I get a definite answer, I’ll let you know."
Grayson patted her shoulder, "Daughters are always more thoughtful."
Faye pursed her lips and smiled.
The servant approached respectfully, "Old Master Forrest, the meal is ready."
"Come on, Faye, time for dinner."
Faye stood up, pushing Grayson to the dining table where they sat and ate together.
They talked a bit more about Kay Forrest, until the topic was exhausted.
After a servant poured Faye a glass of juice, Grayson asked her, "How have you been lately? Is everything going smoothly around you?"
At this question, Faye hesitated and looked at him, "Uncle Forrest, I know I shouldn’t trouble you with some matters, but currently, there’s something really difficult that I need your advice on."
Grayson nodded, "You don’t need to stand on ceremony with me; ask any question you have. Although I may not be as open-minded as you youngsters, I have lived a few more years and might have some experience to share."
"I... made some mistakes before, and Lucas Warren and Sebastian Sheldon have leverage over me.
This matter absolutely can’t be known to Hunter.
I also told you about my parents’ issue earlier; I suspect it might be connected to Sebastian. Now I’m in a difficult position. I dare not rashly oppose her, but I can’t just let it go, either.
Uncle Forrest, what should I do? Lately, this issue has been killing me."
"Is what they have on you important?"
"It could easily destroy my future happiness."
Hearing this, Grayson set down his chopsticks and smiled at her warmly, "My dear, is there really any problem in this world that can’t be solved? Actually, this is quite simple."
Hearing Uncle Forrest say this, Faye seemed to see a glimmer of hope.
