Chapter 303: Chapter 214 I’m a Madman, Always Regretting Only After Losing_4

Faye Townsend rolled her eyes at him, "I think you’re not raising awareness about crises, you’re just flirting with innocent women."

"Hunter Warren, you are such a despicable old fox."

He burst out laughing, "Thank you for the compliment."

"Are you sure that was a compliment?" Faye looked into his eyes, and they were filled with happiness.

All of a sudden, she felt as if a huge weight on her heart had been chipped away, leaving her feeling much lighter.

At least for now, she wouldn’t have to face Oliver as an enemy.

After getting home, Faye made a phone call to Clara.

Two best friends chatting—Hunter naturally wouldn’t interfere too much.

He went downstairs to play with the kids.

Faye told Clara about Oliver’s recent situation.

When Clara heard about his previous state of depression, she fell silent for quite a while.

Actually, Faye could roughly guess what Clara was thinking.

Clara must be feeling guilty too.

Later on, Faye relayed what Oliver had just told her, word for word, to Clara. Only then did Clara feel much more relieved.

She promised Faye she would go home for dinner in the next few days.

Soon after, Faye heard Sean Lennox’s gentle voice calling Clara over the phone.

Clara responded loudly, so loud that Faye’s ears buzzed for a moment.

Faye thought to herself, Clara must truly be very happy now.

After the kids fell asleep, Hunter, as usual, pulled her into their intimate evening activities.

Faye was in a good mood, and Hunter was energetic—they both had a lot of fun.

Afterward, Hunter held her and asked, "Did Sebastian Sheldon say a lot of nasty things to you today?"

"No, not at all."

"Owen told me he thought you seemed a bit down when he saw you.

I assumed Sebastian Sheldon must’ve ruined your mood."

"Tsk," Faye rolled her eyes at him.

"Ow, what kind of reaction is this?"

"Since you already knew all of this, why didn’t you ask me about Sebastian Sheldon earlier?

Come clean—were you secretly worrying about Sebastian? Is that why you didn’t bring it up?"

Hunter laughed as he tousled her messy hair, "You really don’t appreciate a good Samaritan. I just didn’t want to ruin your happy mood earlier."

"So now my mood’s ruined, huh?" Faye mischievously poked his stomach.

"Come on, admit it—did you worry even a little bit about Sebastian? Just a little?"

Her voice was playful, but Hunter flipped over and pinned her down, "Today I learned something new—my wife has a fiery streak.

To ease my wife’s concerns, do I need to..."

"No need, absolutely no need," Faye pressed her hand against his shoulder. Clearly, he was just looking for an excuse to mess with her.

Hunter laughed and flipped over, hugging her tightly again.

"I don’t know what Sebastian said to you.

What I want to tell you is, no matter what she said, don’t take it to heart. She can’t threaten your position in my life.

She and I are completely in the past now.

The only person I love now is you, our family, and our children.

As for everything else, I’ll choose to turn a blind eye."

Faye looked at him, moved, and lifted her chin to kiss under his lips.

"So that’s why I told Sebastian, ’If you’re so interested in my husband, go ahead and pursue him. If he’s willing to be with you, I’ll take the kids and leave automatically.’"

"You said that?" Hunter stared at her.

Faye nodded.

"You..."

"What’s wrong?"

Hunter tapped her forehead lightly, "How could you give the enemy such an opportunity?

By saying that, she’ll definitely come to pester me.

I really don’t have the patience to deal with her—you should’ve squashed her hopes right then and there."

Faye laughed, "Isn’t this the perfect opportunity to test your loyalty to me?"

Although she laughed outwardly, her heart wasn’t truly at ease.

Sebastian Sheldon still had the ability to tighten his throat.

If she recklessly pushed things too far and cornered Sebastian, what if she really retaliated fiercely?

She couldn’t afford to lose Hunter Warren again. This was a gamble she couldn’t take.
