Billionaire's Unforgettable Ex-Wife
Chapter 264 - 200 Sebastian Sheldon and Walter Hansen?

Chapter 264: Chapter 200 Sebastian Sheldon and Walter Hansen?

Faye was startled by his sudden actions, nodding repeatedly and smiling, "Of course, why would I lie to you?"

"Clara is my friend, and I want her to be happy too."

"However, since I’m the one matchmaking, I have three requirements for you."

"First, no divorce."

"Second, don’t hurt her."

"Third, accept her flaws and give her happiness."

Sean smiled and nodded, "Don’t worry about that. I’m an old-fashioned romantic."

Faye shrugged with a smile. Romantic? Hopefully.

On the way home from the club, Faye asked Hunter, "Is Sean someone we can rely on?"

Hunter thought for a moment, "Depends on what aspect."

"If you’re asking about work, I can honestly tell you he’s pretty decent."

"Remember that project where Oliver and I were secretly competing?"

Faye nodded, "Of course."

"Back then, my computers were exported under his company’s name."

"I thought he was running a shell company?"

"These days, is registering a new company even that time-consuming?" Hunter smirked, stealing a glance at her as he drove.

"If you’re asking about his personal life, then I really don’t know much."

"So, do you think Clara and him would work out?"

Hunter raised a brow, "Seems he’s the one at a disadvantage here."

"What are you saying?" Faye glared at him, "How is he at a disadvantage?"

Hunter arched a brow, "It’s said the guy is quite romantic. He had a girlfriend in his youth, but she passed away from cancer, and he hasn’t dated anyone since then."

"As for how much he loved that woman, I wouldn’t know. But when it comes to Clara..."

"Clara still has a crush on someone who’s alive. His rival is a living person."

"Whereas the woman Sean loved is no longer around. No matter how much he loved her, it doesn’t affect Clara one bit."

"So, wouldn’t you say he’s at a disadvantage?"

Faye smiled wryly, "Do you not understand? The most formidable rival in love is one who’s already passed away."

"Those who are alive can still be contested, but a lost beloved is carved into the heart forever."

Hunter shook his head, "Men and women think differently."

"In any case, Sean seems like a good choice for Clara."

"It’s just a matter of whether she can recognize that herself."

Faye raised her eyebrows but didn’t say more.

She knew Hunter’s character; if he said Sean was good, then he must be good.

She trusted him, which meant she trusted the people he found trustworthy.

Sean indeed seemed to stand out in Anchester as one of the few eligible bachelors without any tabloid scandals.

Compared to Victor from back then, Sean appeared to be more reliable.

"By the way, there’s something... I want to talk to you about," Faye turned to him, "It’s about Sebastian."

"There’s no need for you to tell me anything about her. I don’t care."

Hunter smiled gently, turning to glance at her, "If it’s something about you, then you can tell me."

"Hear me out first—it’s not some ambiguous relationship matter.

This morning Clara called me. She had someone in Malaysia keeping tabs on Walter Hansen."

"Coincidentally, they ended up catching Walter having dinner with Sebastian."

Before Faye finished speaking, Hunter furrowed his eyebrows tightly.

He pulled the car over to the side of the road and turned to her, "Is this information reliable?"

Faye quickly dug her phone out of her bag, opened the photo gallery, and handed it to him.

"Look, the photos are very clear; this is definitely Sebastian, right?"

Hunter glanced at the phone screen, his gaze shifted slightly, and his eyes narrowed dangerously.

Sebastian and Walter Hansen? That pairing is quite interesting, worthy of investigation.

Faye noticed Hunter’s sudden engrossed look but didn’t interrupt him.

After a while, Hunter handed the phone back to her, restarted the car, and drove away.

Seeing he hadn’t said anything, Faye was a little puzzled, "Aren’t you curious?"

"Why would these two be having coffee together?"

"They’re completely mismatched, right?"

Hunter smiled, "It’s indeed peculiar. Don’t worry about it for now.

It won’t be long before Walter Hansen returns home.

By then, I’ll have ways to help you uncover the truth."

Faye stared straight at him, a glimmer of admiration flashing in her eyes.

"I don’t know why, but with you by my side, I feel an overwhelming sense of security."

This wasn’t just flattery; it was a voice straight from her heart.

"That’s exactly how it should be. I’m your man; I’ll make sure your world is solid and secure."

He freed a hand to gently rub her head.

Faye smiled warmly.

Once they arrived home, Hunter mentioned he wanted to smoke in the yard and let Faye head inside first.

Faye glanced around, saw no one, and tiptoed to kiss him on the cheek before heading indoors.

Hunter quickly pulled her into a deeper, lingering kiss.

Faye’s face turned bright red as she pushed him away, "Ugh, you’re so annoying!"

Hunter chuckled softly, watching as Faye turned and hurried into the house.

He took out a cigarette, strolled onto the lawn, and from afar, through the floor-to-ceiling windows, he spotted Faye holding Miya, chatting about something.

Miya looked elated, laughing carefree.

He pulled out his phone and dialed Owen Lennon’s number.

On the other end, Owen’s voice sounded listless, "Hunter, what’s up?"

"Resting?"

"Yeah." Owen turned over lazily, not even opening his eyes.

"So early?" Hunter checked his watch; it was only nine.

"I was up all night with a case and only got back at six this afternoon.

Right now, my brain hardly feels like it belongs to me."

Hunter chuckled, "Seems like I picked the wrong time to call. Fine, I’ll keep it brief.

Tomorrow, when you’re at the office, help me investigate something."

"Walter Hansen’s accounts used to be tricky to trace back in the day, but now, look into Sebastian Sheldon’s accounts."

"Sebastian? Ugh, what kind of wild goose chase is this now? You’ve left me thoroughly confused.

Did Sebastian offend you again?"

"Someone spotted Sebastian and Walter having coffee together; don’t you find that picture rather ironic?"

Owen furrowed his brows, "So... you’re suspicious?"

"Should I not be?" Hunter extinguished his cigarette and tossed it aside, his hands casually sliding into his pockets.

Two people who seemingly have no connection are suddenly dining together.

And these two individuals have ties to both mine and Faye’s lives.

Owen raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Fine, I get it. Leave this matter to me."

"By tomorrow afternoon, I’ll make sure you have a satisfying answer."

Clara was returning to the country on Wednesday at noon, and Faye had arranged to meet her for lunch.

Since Clara wasn’t very mobile, Faye personally drove to the BlueHorizon Group entrance to pick her up.

In the past, she’d simply head upstairs, but now... her relationship with Oliver was a bit awkward.

So she decided it was best to wait from afar.

Clara came out of the building, leaning on her crutches, and Faye opened the car door, stepping out to help her into the vehicle.

Once in the car, Faye tossed the crutches onto the back seat and started the engine to leave.

"You know, from a distance, your current state is truly inspirational."

Faye glanced at her while driving, breaking into laughter.

Clara rolled her eyes, "Why does that sound like sarcasm to me?"

"That’s just your nose being off. It’s definitely a compliment."

"I’ve truly never seen someone like you; clearly you could take paid sick leave, yet you insist on pushing yourself at work.

Are you saying Oliver docks your pay if you don’t show up?"

Clara shrugged with a smile, "I just want to feel more justified in earning my salary—nothing more."

Faye nodded, "If Oliver only knew you’re such a rare gem of an employee, he’d be laughing himself awake in his dreams."

"He doesn’t already know?" Clara laughed back, "I should go tell him and bask in some glory.

By the way, how are things between you two now? Still quarreling?"

Faye shrugged, "Quarreling is something only couples do.

I don’t quarrel with him. Our relationship is slowly turning into just being regular friends."

"Then my Uncle Oliver must feel terrible about that."

"Why? Shouldn’t I be the one feeling bad?"

"What’s there for you to feel bad about? My Uncle Oliver only has eyes for you.

If you ignore him, he’s left heartbroken.

But you—aren’t you accompanied by Mr. Warren now?

Honestly, you hardly ever think of my Uncle Oliver, do you?"

Faye chuckled, "Makes sense."

"Which is why, Faye, you’re absolutely heartless." Clara shook her head with a grin, "Thankfully, I’m not a man.

If I were, I’d surely fall for your beauty, only to get dumped miserably by you."

"If you were a man... I would’ve long since married you." Faye winked at her with a smile.

Clara couldn’t help but shiver—who’d have thought this woman could joke so boldly?

"Alright, tonight I’ll pick you as my queen. Make sure you come pamper me nicely."

"Sure, but who’s the boss in our relationship?" Faye glanced at her with a grin full of mischief.

Clara shuddered again, "Wow, you’ve totally defeated me."

Faye laughed while continuing to drive.

Clara turned slightly toward her, "Hey, speaking of serious matters, I haven’t even asked yet.

Do you know why Sebastian went to Malaysia to meet Walter Hansen?"

Faye shook her head, "No idea. But Hunter is already investigating, so I trust the truth will surface soon."

Clara let out a long sigh, "Truth... I wonder when the truth about my car accident will finally come to light.

Honestly, I’m dying to know the truth now."

"Still no progress?"

"None. I’ve been to the police station twice. They said the perpetrator seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth, leaving no trace to follow."

"And the car hasn’t been found?"

"The car has been located, and a sketch of the perpetrator has been released for a nationwide hunt. Now it’s just a waiting game."

Faye stopped the car in front of a western restaurant. She got out first to help Clara into the restaurant.
