Chapter 204: Chapter 160 If I Really Disappeared From This World 2
She walked over, and Richard lazily looked at her, "Where have you been? Just got back."
"Do I need to report to you?" Faye tossed her bag to the side, "What are you doing here again? And your face... where did you get beaten up to look like that?"
"Don’t worry about my face. But..." as he spoke, he threw the photo he was examining onto the table, "Since when did you become nostalgic, carrying the family picture from the past with you?"
Faye glanced indifferently, "That’s not mine, a friend of mine got it from Walter Hansen."
"Walter Hansen?" Richard’s laid-back posture suddenly straightened up, "You got this from Walter Hansen? Are you saying he’s still alive?"
Faye was puzzled. Why was Richard so agitated?
"Should he be dead?"
Richard slammed the table hard. He didn’t answer Faye’s question, just asked her with a cold expression, quite unlike his usual self, "Where is he now?"
"Malaysia, I heard he’s a wealthy businessman now."
Richard was about to leave and walked around the table when he passed by Faye; she grabbed his wrist, "What’s wrong?"
"Don’t concern yourself with this matter, and remember, don’t have any dealings with Walter Hansen.
Stay far away from anyone who gave you this photo or is friends with Walter Hansen."
With that, he left, leaving Faye standing there puzzled for quite a while.
Although Richard’s demeanor just now was inexplicable, she saw a seriousness on his face that she hadn’t seen in years.
But weren’t he and Walter Hansen on good terms before? Why did he show such intense hatred at the mention of Walter Hansen?
Could there have been some past conflict between them?
Faye returned to her seat, gently rubbing the tip of her nose. Wait, why did Richard come looking for her today?
Could it be that there was something regarding the wedding that needed assistance?
She dialed Richard’s number on her phone, and he picked up, "What’s up?"
"I’m asking, why did you come looking for me today?"
"Didn’t Second Master Warren tell you yesterday? Last night, I got into a fight at the bar with Eliana Brooke.
Eliana hit the young master of the Fu family over the head with a beer bottle and knocked him out."
Faye pursed her lips, "You’re talking nonsense, right?"
"Second Master Warren was also there; if you don’t believe me, just ask him.
He was the one who helped me out of the situation."
"Did you come just to tell on Brooke in front of me?"
"Not really, but she did hit someone to help me.
I’m just reminding you to be careful of the Fu family during this time."
Faye shrugged, "Didn’t you say Hunter Warren helped you out?
The Fu family wouldn’t dare mess with me unless they had the guts to go up against the Warren Group."
"Suit yourself."
After hanging up the phone, Faye smirked. That pesky Richard finally wisened up a bit.
Before getting off work in the afternoon, she gave Hunter Warren a call.
"I’m having dinner with Clara tonight, so I can’t go home with you."
"But I’m already on my way; should I just join you two?"
"We’re two women having dinner, what’s your point in coming along?"
Hunter Warren said, "So, what’s there for you two women to talk about without adding a man into the mix?"
"Nevermind, just go back and help me take care of Darnley and Miya."
Hunter let out a light sigh, "Alright then, come back early."
"Okay."
"By the way, you’re close with Clara, right?"
"We’re the same age, so we get along well. Ever since Zenia betrayed her, she’s probably my only female friend left. Why?"
"Since that’s the case, remind her to be careful of Luna Fisher."
Be careful of Luna Fisher? Faye was puzzled, "Why? Do you know something?"
"There are certain things that, as outsiders, we shouldn’t say too much about.
Just listen to me and give her a heads-up.
That’s enough. You go ahead, I’ll take care of the kids."
"Wait." Faye halted him, "Um... do you have time on Saturday?"
"If you want to meet me, then I’m free."
Faye laughed, "Well, I’m asking you, so dedicate that day entirely to me."
"No problem."
After hanging up, Faye packed up and headed downstairs. Clara had been waiting for her for a while.
Faye picked her up and took her directly to Mysto Club.
She had a membership card here, though she rarely visited.
"To be honest, it’s my first time here at Mysto. I don’t have enough personal assets to apply for a membership card."
Faye shut the car door, "My membership was arranged by Hunter Warren years ago, so it’s not really mine. Let’s go."
They walked in together, and Faye had booked a room for a facial massage.
After the massage, the two lay on the beauty beds resting, and Faye said, "I’ve wanted to come here to relax with a female friend for a long time, but there’s never been time."
Clara laughed, "Next time you have an occasion like this, just call me; I’m easy to invite."
"Today’s occasion is like a Hongmen banquet, is that okay?" Faye tested, glancing at her.
"I know you have something to discuss with me, no worries. Just say what you want to say."
Faye sat up, "Clara, I know some things are not easy to talk about, but you might be the only one who can control Oliver.
He’s going to tear Hunter apart and become his rival, which neither of us wants to see.
If they clash, who knows what will happen to Anchester’s economic circle.
So... you have to stop him."
"You’d better tell me what exactly happened first."
Faye sighed, "This issue, honestly, started because of Luna Fisher and me.
Luna Fisher had people tailing me, and Hunter was angry when he found out, so he captured her, intending only to ask why she was following me.
But Oliver got furious because Hunter acted against his friend first, so he showed up at Hunter’s doorstep with some of his men last night."
"What? That serious?" Clara was shocked and sat up, "Oliver is crazy, how could he do something so irrational for a murderer?"
Faye felt a bit guilty, "I think this may be somewhat related to me too.
The fact that I got back with Hunter might have hurt him, so..."
Clara hesitated for a moment, "Actually, there’s something I’ve always wanted to tell you.
In this matter, you are a bit unfair to my uncle Oliver.
Honestly, in all the years I’ve lived beside him, I’ve never seen him so invested in a woman as he is in you."
Clara’s words made Faye feel even worse.
She was well aware of this, but love doesn’t accommodate even the smallest bit of force.
"Faye, honestly, I’m envious of you," Clara said, her eyes reddening, "Some people, like me, may spend their whole lives never reaching the man they love, but you..."
"Clara, no more of that, I understand what you mean." Faye sighed, "I don’t want to justify myself. I had doubts about reuniting with Hunter, but I’ve moved past those now. I have my reasons."
She used to wonder how two people who had hurt each other could get back together.
And even if they did, what about the existing barriers from the past? They are facts. How do you overcome them?
Yet recently, she astonishingly found out that it really wasn’t that difficult.
Or perhaps, her heart never regarded those issues as barriers.
When those problems could no longer be called problems, she felt everything could naturally follow suit.
Sometimes she didn’t know if her decision was right or wrong.
But everyone is just an ordinary person, and one has to move forward while exploring.
Who can guarantee that marrying Oliver would make her happy? If she didn’t love him, how could she be happy?
Clara nodded, "Alright, since you put it that way, all I can do is wish you well.
I wasn’t optimistic about you and my uncle Oliver initially.
I feel like... you don’t love him, and that’s unfair to him.
I won’t meddle in your affair anymore. I’ll talk to my uncle Oliver.
I don’t want to see the Warren and Turner families in conflict, it would be a needless sacrifice."
"Thank you, Clara."
"Ah, I’m starving. Invite me to some good food soon."
"Let’s go out," Faye smiled, "Order whatever you want, don’t spare my expense."
They changed their clothes and came out. After walking ten meters down the hallway, a room door beside them opened.
A woman came out and bumped into Clara.
Both of them exclaimed, but the woman’s voice was obviously louder.
Faye stepped forward to help Clara up.
The two of them looked up, only to find that the person coming out of the room was Olivia Lynd, and the person about to leave with her was Sebastian Sheldon.
What a case of a narrow path for enemies. Faye finally understood it.
Upon seeing who they were, Olivia crossed her arms and sneered, "Oh, Sebastian, no wonder I saw two piles of dog shit at my doorstep today; it was a sign."
Sebastian stood there looking coldly at Faye.
Faye’s expression wasn’t pleasant either, and Clara’s face turned a bit colder upon seeing Olivia.
She grabbed Faye’s wrist, "Faye, let’s go."
Olivia spread her arms and blocked Clara’s way, "Go? Why go? I haven’t formally introduced you to my friend yet.
Sebastian, do you know who this is? This is the mistress who tried to seduce my husband that I told you about last time.
Look at her behavior... just an orphan, and she really thinks she’s something."
