Chapter 201: Chapter 157: The Imminent Battle of Tong Tu2
It’s because I’m afraid I’ll slip up in front of Oliver Turner.
Judging from how Oliver impulsively came to confront me, he probably doesn’t know who sent him our photos.
I deduce that while following you, Luna Fisher noticed how close you were with me, and decided such pictures shouldn’t be hers alone to enjoy.
So she anonymously sent those photos to Oliver Turner.
If that’s the case... wouldn’t it separate you from Oliver Turner?
Haven’t you noticed that Oliver Turner has been visiting you less often recently?"
With Hunter Warren’s reminder, Faye Townsend indeed realized it was true.
Lately, Oliver often told her he was busy.
Hunter clicked his tongue twice, "Why do you always end up attracting so many rivals?"
"It’s not my fault, okay?" Faye also seemed a bit helpless.
She took a sip of milk, with a bit of it left on the corner of her lips.
Hunter looked at her and smiled, "You know I have a cleanliness obsession, right?"
"Huh?" Faye looked at him puzzled, wondering why he suddenly changed the subject.
He leaned forward, planted his arms on the edge of the bed, trapping her within them, and licked the milk stain off her lips.
Faye blinked at him, "What... are you doing?"
"What do you think?" He moved his lips to her ear, whispering seductively.
Faye shivered all over with a warning bell ringing inside her. Was he going to...
"Hey, weren’t we discussing a problem? You’re being quite distracted."
Hunter gave a devilish smile and pushed her down, "Some issues can be discussed while doing something, it’s called making smart use of time."
Faye felt her mind grow hot. She knew it! Earlier, when he hadn’t finished what he started with her, she thought he had suddenly become a proper gentleman.
It turned out he was saving a big move to handle her later in the evening.
The two looked into each other’s eyes, gazing deeply.
This was their first time seriously lying in bed together... There was that one time they were interrupted by Miya. She could still clearly remember the look of frustration on Hunter’s face.
Thinking about it now makes her laugh.
But this quiet, undisturbed feeling was really nice.
Afterward, Hunter held her and asked, "Are Darnley and Miya asleep?"
"Hmm."
"Don’t leave tonight. Stay here with me, okay?"
"No, what if the kids..."
"Don’t worry, Uncle Rivers is home. Stay with your poor husband tonight, will you?"
Faye smiled speechlessly, "How come I didn’t know you’re so good at playing pitiful before?"
"It’s called strategy. I found if I don’t act a little pitiful, you won’t care about me at all."
Hunter kissed her on the cheek, "You’re smiling, so I’ll take that as a yes. Let’s go then."
He spoke as he already sat up.
"Where to?"
Hunter lifted her horizontally and carried her to the bathroom, "For a bath."
Faye blushed, "Let’s take turns, shall we?"
"What, embarrassed?"
"No... I just think... distance creates beauty."
"There’s already a distance of fourteen years between us, that’s beauty enough.
From now on, no distance is needed, just focus on the beauty."
Faye pouted at him, his eloquence was really not ordinary.
She really admired him, okay.
"You know, the way you are now has completely extinguished your high and cold man-god aura?"
"I’ve figured it out, to maintain that high and cold aura, I’d lose my wife.
Instead of having something useless like that, I’d rather hold my wife tightly in my arms, wouldn’t you agree?"
He seated her on the edge of the tub and turned on the faucet, gauging the temperature before lowering her in.
Faye sat in the water, her hands gently patting the water, her eyes full of tenderness.
Hunter sat beside her for a moment before sliding into the tub himself.
Faye glared at him, "Hey, why did you come in too?"
"To bathe together."
Faye was genuinely speechless, okay, "You’re addicted now, aren’t you?"
"Can’t I?" Hunter said, purposefully moving closer to her.
Faye covered her heart with her hand, "Where are you looking?"
Hunter raised an eyebrow with a smile, "I suddenly remembered the first time I saw you in a swimsuit."
Faye recalled, "Oh, when you were teaching Sebastian Sheldon to swim?"
Hunter shrugged, "You’re missing the point. Even though I was teaching Sebastian that day, my attention was always on you."
"Who would believe that?" Faye pouted. She hadn’t missed any detail from that day, all vividly etched in her mind, okay.
She still remembered how jealous she was back then.
In order to win, she even cheated by calling her senior over.
That day, the seriousness with which she learned was beyond words.
Never in her life had she thought she could be smart enough to learn swimming in a day.
They say swimming isn’t that easy, you know.
So, sometimes for love, people can unleash endless potential.
"I believe! My body responded when I saw you, believe me.
Know why I stayed in the water for so long without coming out?
Because my desire was too obvious, it would give me away."
Faye frowned, "Liar, liar, I don’t believe you."
"It’s true. When you let your senior teach you swimming, seeing his hands around your waist, I felt like punching him multiple times."
But you know, I’m a man with self-control.
Otherwise, with my ability, you think I would be slower at teaching than your dumb senior?
I was just distracted."
Faye curled her lips and smiled at him, her face full of enticing allure which he only saw as flirting.
He leaned towards her, his foot restlessly moving in the water, "Remember, no smiling like this to other men when we go out, okay?"
Faye rolled her eyes at him and laughed again.
For some reason, she really enjoyed this dynamic with him now.
She didn’t have to desperately cling to him.
He wasn’t aloof and was talkative, she didn’t have to think of ways to make conversation to avoid awkwardness.
Even when they were silent, just looking at each other, she still felt comfortable.
This way of being together, should be what her father often mentioned as ’simple happiness’.
Hunter had forgotten about her for a moment there, as she sat in the water, her flushed cheeks resembling a red apple.
The water droplets fell from the loose strands on her forehead onto her shoulder, then slid down.
Those droplets added an extra touch of allure and sensuality to her.
"Faye..."
"Yes?"
Hunter didn’t know how to say what he wanted to, so he chose not to speak.
Poor little girl.
Faye opened her eyes to look at him, "You’ll keep your word, right?"
"Of course, but in that case, we’ll have to make sure it’s once a day."
Even though Faye was exhausted, she still raised her fist to lightly punch his shoulder.
Hunter grabbed her soft fist and laughed.
Faye closed her eyes, "I’m so tired, not going back, I’m going to sleep first."
"Sleep, I’ll keep you company."
Hunter lay down beside her, Faye looked at him and smiled sweetly.
"What do you plan to do about Oliver?"
"What can I do? If he can figure it out himself, I naturally won’t do anything.
But if he can’t and insists on confronting me, I’ll have to play along."
Faye blinked, "Isn’t there any other solution?
I really don’t want you and Oliver to become enemies."
"Do you want me to take hits passively, doing nothing?
If that’s what you want, I’ll listen to you.
No matter what he does to me, I’ll endure it passively, as repayment for his kindness to you, how about that?"
Hearing Hunter say that, Faye quickly shook her head.
She didn’t want Hunter to get hurt.
Whether in life or in business, she didn’t want Hunter to lose or be bullied.
Even if it’s Oliver, she didn’t want him to get hurt.
Moreover, the reason Hunter had provoked Oliver this time was also for her.
"That’s not what I mean. I hope that if it’s not a big deal, you can give way to him.
Any temporary satisfaction from exchange of words doesn’t necessarily mean winning.
But if he harms your interests, then fight back.
I don’t want you to become weak because of me."
Hunter pinched her cheek, "Silly girl, I get it. I’ll act accordingly."
