Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Who Dares to Touch His Mother and Child? Try It!

Mo Chuxi’s gaze was sharp, his attitude firm and brooked no argument.

Sister Lin didn’t dare make a sound anymore, and even Lin Yuan’ai found herself momentarily speechless.

But anger still burned—seeing Yan Xinxin holding Yan Chenxi only made her angrier.

"How are you watching over the child? How could you let him run out like that!"

Lin Yuan’ai reprimanded furiously.

The two young maids nervously lowered their heads.

"We’re sorry, Madam. The young master, he..."

"It’s not these big sisters’ fault."

Little Chenxi raised his charming face, his expression serious as he looked at the enraged Lin Yuan’ai.

"Pretty Auntie, I didn’t realize your temper was so bad. I don’t want to be friends with you at all!"

"...What, what did you say?"

Lin Yuan’ai was stunned at the boy’s words, her fury deepening.

"What auntie? I’m your grandmother!"

"You’re not my grandmother!"

Yan Chenxi instantly refuted her.

"I wouldn’t have such a bad-tempered grandmother. Xinxin, I want to go home with you."

"Alright, Xinxin will take you home! We’ll go home right away!"

Yan Xinxin, her eyes red with joy, bent down to kiss her son’s cheek before standing up.

"Darling, let’s go!"

"Mm!"

"You’re not going anywhere!"

Lin Yuan’ai wasn’t about to let them leave, immediately issuing an order.

"You two, take the young master back to his room!"

The two maids exchanged glances, then reluctantly nodded.

"Yes, Madam."

"Try touching them, mother and child, and you’ll see what happens."

Mo Chuxi’s cold voice cut through the air, his oppressive aura instantly making the maids withdraw in fright. His piercing icy gaze sent a chill through everyone present—everyone except Yan Xinxin.

She glanced at Mo Chuxi’s stormy expression and tightly held her son’s hand.

"Xi, we’re leaving."

"Alright!"

Yan Chenxi responded obediently but, just as he was about to turn, his small hand suddenly grabbed Mo Chuxi’s.

"Papa Chuxi, come home with us!"

The child’s tender, affectionate words almost magically melted the icy sharpness in Mo Chuxi’s gaze.

Yan Xinxin was stunned. She hadn’t expected her son to call out to Mo Chuxi like that in such a situation.

This was bound to complicate things even further.

Mo Chuxi’s eyes shifted to Lin Yuan’ai’s ashen face. His thin lips parted slightly.

"I hope you remember what I said earlier: stop meddling in my private life."

With that, he turned away. Catching Yan Xinxin completely off guard, he bent down and scooped Yan Chenxi up in his arms.

"Let’s go."

He glanced at Yan Xinxin, his tone gentle as he uttered those two words, then strode away gracefully on his long legs.

Yan Xinxin froze in place for two seconds before following after him.

Watching the three of them leave as a harmonious family, Lin Yuan’ai furiously slumped onto the sofa.

"This is infuriating!"

"Madam, please calm down."

"How am I supposed to calm down? Chuxi is completely siding with that woman now, defending her at every turn. Am I really supposed to accept Yan Xinxin as a member of the Mo family? She’s not worthy!"

Lin Yuan’ai fumed in anger.

Sister Lin quickly stepped in to soothe her, gently patting her back.

"Madam, you and the young master don’t communicate much, so maybe he doesn’t feel as close to you. For now, it seems hard to regain custody of the little master. The young master seems very fond of Yan Xinxin. Perhaps it’s better to go along with his wishes for now and avoid provoking her."

Lin Yuan’ai let out a scornful laugh, her face filled with disdain.

"If it weren’t for that child, I wouldn’t even want to see that woman!"

The child had been found, and the crisis, thankfully, had passed.

But Yan Xinxin had already made up her mind.

Back at the apartment, she first got settled, then took a quick shower. Not even bothering to fully dry her hair, she hurried to the study.

Mo Chuxi sat on the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window, flipping through a document. The sky outside was overcast, matching the somber mood reflected in his expression.

"Mo Chuxi."

Yan Xinxin called out.

Mo Chuxi paused in turning the page, slowly lifting his deep, dark gaze toward her.

"What do you want to say?"

"I’ve made up my mind."
