Chapter 218: Chapter 208 Yi Luowa, I Love You! (Three updates)
Tong Airui carried Yi Luowa on his back as he jogged up the mountain. The bodyguards trailing behind didn’t dare slack off, following closely but keeping a respectful distance.
At the mountaintop, Tong Airui turned to look at them. "Disappear!"
Having so many people around at this moment really ruined the atmosphere.
The bodyguards silently retreated into the shadows.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips and smiled as she cautiously slid off Tong Airui’s back. "It hasn’t changed at all—it’s still just like when we first came here."
"Maybe it’s because my mood is different now. I think it looks even more beautiful." Tong Airui steadied her and pointed to the direction at nine o’clock. He chuckled, "That’s where you kicked me and injured me."
Yi Luowa scrunched her nose. "You have to phrase it like this: I, Tong Airui, tried to act like a rascal here and got kicked by Yi Luowa."
"Haha..." Tong Airui burst into laughter as he recalled the scene. "Honey, why don’t we reenact it?"
Yi Luowa scratched her head. "I was showing off that day. Showing off is never a good thing. But then again, if I hadn’t been showing off, I wouldn’t have met you."
Yi Luowa laughed as she pulled out her phone. "You’re supposed to be down there near the cliff. But that’s too dangerous—we’ll just pretend you’re invisible. I’m starting the reenactment now."
Just as Yi Luowa was about to take a step forward, Tong Airui quickly reminded her, "Don’t move! Just stand there and talk—your leg isn’t fully healed yet."
Yi Luowa made an "OK" gesture with her hand.
"Second Uncle, I’ve already won my fifth championship!" Yi Luowa quickly got into character, excitedly shouting at her still-black phone screen.
After finishing her lines, she mimicked Second Uncle’s tone and said, "Good kid, excellent work! I was watching your match live just now, and in a blink of an eye, you were gone!"
"Second Uncle, I just wanted to talk to you! Want to see me? We can video call. This spot has a great view—few tourists too—let’s stick to this location!" Yi Luowa aimed her phone at herself, then explained to Tong Airui, "I was walking backward step by step to the edge of the cliff just like this. Then my Second Uncle said, ’Xi Meichen wants to throw me a birthday party,’ and I told him I wasn’t going. I said if he insisted, I wouldn’t even visit his place anymore. He replied, ’You little brat, wings have gotten strong, huh? If you don’t come to me, are you planning to sleep on the streets?’"
Tong Airui chuckled as he watched her and gestured for her to keep going with the reenactment.
Yi Luowa laughed and said, "I was so mad and replied, ’Stupid Second Uncle, the prize money I won is enough for me to travel the world!’
Then my Second Uncle screamed at me, ’Luowa, where are you standing now? Is it the edge of the cliff? Don’t jump around—be careful!’"
"It’s my turn now," Tong Airui said with a grin as he walked over.
Yi Luowa blinked her big, fluffy eyes. "What’s next in the scene? Should I pull down your pants?"
"I grab your foot first, then you pull down my pants."
Yi Luowa playfully punched him. "We really have nothing better to do, huh."
Tong Airui smiled but didn’t say anything. He took off his shirt, spread it flat on the ground, and helped her sit down. Just two feet away from them lay the place where the story first began.
Yi Luowa leaned against his embrace, gazing at the rolling mountain ranges. With a mix of awe and sentiment, she said, "This place is truly beautiful! Fourth Brother, let’s come here every year from now on, okay?"
Tong Airui smiled indulgently. "Alright, even when we’re old and can’t walk anymore, we’ll come here. We’ll have the kids help us up."
Yi Luowa bashfully laughed, cupped her hands around her mouth like a megaphone, and shouted loudly, "Tong Airui, I love you—I love you—I love you—"
Her declaration of love echoed throughout the mountains.
Tong Airui copied her action and shouted toward the mountains, "Yi Luowa, I love you too—I love you—I love you too—"
Yi Luowa giggled and pulled his hand down. "Why are you creating your own echo effects?"
"The mountains can’t represent my feelings. Love needs to be said out loud," Tong Airui explained with a smile as he leaned down to kiss her lips.
"Why did it suddenly go quiet?" Mi Chenxuan, dangling below the cliff, muttered.
"Bet they’re making out! Mua~" Maizekai, hanging from another rope, puckered his lips and blew Mi Chenxuan an exaggerated kiss.
"Ugh—don’t disgust me! I don’t like men."
"I don’t like men either!"
The two pushed off the rock face forcefully with their feet, distancing themselves from each other.
"Seventh Brother, what’s going on between you and Shanshan? She followed you all the way here—you might as well give her a proper answer," Mi Chenxuan said.
"Mind your own business!" Maizekai snapped. His six older siblings up top governed him, and he decided that he was going to play king as the youngest below.
Mi Chenxuan pulled out a spring knife from his pocket, flicked it open, and edged closer.
"Eighth Brother, what are you trying to do?" Maizekai growled.
"It’s brand new—I want to see if it’s sharp or not." Mi Chenxuan smirked mischievously, resting the blade on Maizekai’s rope. "Seventh Brother, the seller warned me this has been sharpened. I need to be careful using it."
Maizekai glared at him, unwilling to believe he’d actually cut the rope.
"Let me test it, then." Mi Chenxuan grinned as he scraped the blade lightly across the rope, immediately creating a small cut.
"Mi Chenxuan, are you seriously doing this?" Maizekai kicked at him.
Seated above, Yi Luowa furrowed her brows slightly. "Fourth Brother, did you hear something?"
"Seventh and Eighth Brothers are below," Tong Airui replied with a slight arch of his brow, grabbing a handful of grass from a crack in the rock and tossing it downward.
"Who did that? Dirt got in my eyes!" Mi Chenxuan wailed from below.
Yi Luowa burst out laughing. "That’s what you get for eavesdropping on our conversation!"
"Fourth Sister-in-law, save me! Eighth Brother’s about to cut my rope!" Maizekai cried out for help from below.
Yi Luowa couldn’t help but laugh. "Not my problem! You two can slowly fight it out down there. Fourth Brother and I are going to find a new spot to hang out."
"Take me to the manor with you! Sixth Sister said there are peacocks and tons of little animals at your manor," Mi Chenxuan pleaded as he stowed away his knife and scampered upward. Just as his hands reached the edge, a pair of handmade black leather shoes stomped down on them.
Tong Airui didn’t exert much force, but Mi Chenxuan let out cries of pain nonetheless. "Fourth Brother, it hurts! Let me go!"
"I won’t let go myself—you figure it out. If you don’t climb up in five minutes, I’ll kick you back down," Tong Airui said, towering over him.
Mi Chenxuan’s face immediately fell. He wasn’t yet part of the Eagle team, but he could feel the highest commander already training him.
When the highest commander spoke, Mi Chenxuan dared not hesitate. He twisted his body, began wrapping the rope around his waist and legs, then swung his left fist toward Tong Airui’s shoe.
Tong Airui didn’t even bother dodging.
When Mi Chenxuan’s fist landed, he let out a howl of pain—it turned out there was a metal plate inside the shoe toe!
"Have you given back everything you learned in school to the teachers?" Tong Airui snorted coldly, "Try again!"
"Fourth Brother, my dear brother, give me a moment to catch my breath," Mi Chenxuan pleaded.
Maizekai watched the show for a while before climbing up from another direction. "Fourth Brother, feel free to teach him a lesson. Otherwise, he won’t behave."
"Hmm, after I’m done with him, I’ll teach you a lesson too!" Tong Airui shot him a cold glance. These two troublemakers dared to eavesdrop on his conversation with Luowa—if they weren’t taught a proper lesson, who knew what kind of antics they’d pull in the future!
As Tong Airui spoke, Mi Chenxuan launched several more failed attacks. Yi Luowa hopped over on her one good leg, took Tong Airui’s hand, and said, "Fourth Brother, we still have to head back tonight. If we keep playing, we’ll run out of time."
Tong Airui glanced at her, immediately understanding that she wanted him to spare Eighth Brother. Since he’d already taught Mi Chenxuan a decent lesson, Tong Airui reluctantly moved his foot. He bent down, scooped up Yi Luowa, and said, "We’re leaving! If anyone dares to follow us, I’ll stomp their fingers until they can’t use them!"
"So ruthless!" Mi Chenxuan muttered as he climbed up after they had left, rubbing his now-red and sore fingers. "I’ll tell my aunt when we get home—she’ll punish you."
Maizekai lay on the ground, squinting lazily as he grinned. "Instead of asking your aunt for help, you should rely on Luowa. If she hadn’t interceded for you earlier, you’d still be stuck down there. Are we going to follow them again?"
Mi Chenxuan stood up. "Of course! But this time, we’re not following—we’re getting there first! I know a shortcut, and we’ll beat them there for sure."
Maizekai got up slowly. "If it weren’t for the fact that I don’t want to see Jimo Shanshan, I wouldn’t risk following you on this adventure!"
"You think I want to take you along? You’re as slow as a turtle."
"You’re quick—quick as a rabbit—but remember, the rabbit lost to the turtle in the end!"
The two brothers bickered as they headed down the mountain via the shortcut.
Tong Airui and Yi Luowa arrived at the manor, where Uncle Li had already come out to greet them. Yi Luowa smiled when she saw him. "You’re so good at predicting things! How did you know I’d come back?"
"Predicting? Well..." Uncle Li said with a mysterious smile. "Quickly head inside—don’t make Airui Duke carry you all the time."
"He loves carrying me! Even when I tell him I can walk, he refuses to put me down!" Yi Luowa smiled sweetly as she looked at Tong Airui. "Fourth Brother, am I wrong?"
"Hmm, holding you for a lifetime wouldn’t be enough," Tong Airui replied.
Yi Luowa flushed with happiness and winked at Uncle Li. Only then did she turn her attention toward her new home. In terms of size, the place was comparable to the Duke’s estate, but it didn’t have the same imposing grandeur. This place was more aligned with nature, giving off a pastoral vibe, like returning to the countryside.
"Fourth Brother, I love this place." The longer Yi Luowa looked, the more she liked it. She turned to Li Hua and asked, "Uncle Li, is my room beautiful?"
"Beautiful! Second Master designed it himself," Li Hua replied with a smile. "Airui Duke’s room wasn’t designed as elaborately since we weren’t sure what you’d like. It was kept simple, but if you’re unhappy with anything, we can redo it now that you’re here."
Tong Airui glanced at Li Hua and smiled without speaking. They had certainly been thoughtful, even preparing a room for him. But he didn’t intend to use it—after all, there was no wife in that room.
Just as the three stepped into the entrance hall, laughter echoed from inside.
Yi Luowa cast a suspicious look at Li Hua. "Do we have guests here?"
"Go in and see for yourself," Li Hua replied with a chuckle, motioning politely for her to enter.
Tong Airui, still carrying Yi Luowa, quickly strode into the hall. From the laughter alone, he already had an idea of who was inside—and he was ready to give them a proper scolding!
But once they entered the hall, he was momentarily stunned, as the room didn’t only contain those familiar troublemakers.
