Billionaire Reboot: Building A New World Order -
Chapter 61: The Team 3
Chapter 61: The Team 3
They slipped into the garage like ghosts, their breaths making small clouds in the cold air.
The garage was huge, full of shiny cars — fast sports cars, armored black sedans, and rare collectible cars that looked like they belonged in a museum.
Victor let out a low whistle. "Damn... and I thought Leon’s bike was expensive."
"Focus," Katya snapped, looking around carefully.
Two mechanics were working near a red car at the far end.
One had his head under the hood, and the other was searching in a toolbox, humming quietly.
Katya and Victor looked at each other.
He grinned faintly, then slid along the side of a black coupe. Katya moved in parallel.
She slipped behind the first mechanic, looping her SMG strap around his neck. He jerked once, then went limp in her arms.
At the same time, Victor grabbed the second mechanic and knocked him out.
Victor set the man down slowly and wiped sweat from his forehead. "Not gonna lie, that felt good."
Katya shot him a glare. "Save the jokes. We’re on the clock."
After they shoved the limp bodies into the trunk, the began to moved again.
They regrouped behind a pillar. Katya scanned her wrist screen.
Daniel’s voice crackled in their earpieces. [They’re starting to notice the system lag — you need to move fast. Head for the vault now, or they’ll initiate a full reset]
She gave a quick hand signal. "We push. Victor, rear. Alexei, keep your head down."
They slipped between the glossy cars and into a side passage.
They moved room to room — through lavish guest lounges, past ornate portraits of long-dead magnates, and across wide parlors scattered with expensive furniture.
Katya signaled with quick hand gestures; Victor covered angles, Alexei hugged the walls, Terrence was close behind.
Unlike them, he just walked normally.
Daniel fed them updates in short bursts. [Two guards by the east stairs — Move now.]
At one point, they slipped past an open dining hall where guards played cards, unaware.
Victor blew them a silent kiss as they passed, earning a sharp elbow from Katya.
Finally, after winding through endless sterile corridors and bypassing two more security doors, they reached the master private office.
The place was drenched in a gaudy sort of arrogance — dark mahogany shelves lined with expensive liquor, leather-bound books no one had ever read, and a massive glass desk littered with untouched papers.
At the far end of the room, under a soft pool of spotlight, hung a gigantic painting of the man himself — the owner.
His painted eyes seemed to follow them across the room, his smug smile frozen in oil.
Katya didn’t waste time. She grabbed the edge of the frame and tugged hard.
With a dull click, the massive portrait swung to the side, revealing a steel vault door embedded in the wall.
Alexei stepped forward, eyes lighting up. "My turn."
He dropped to his knees, opening his heavy tool pack.
"Protect me. I’m gonna be here for... let’s pray under five minutes."
Katya and Victor took up positions on either side of the corridor. Terrence stood directly behind Alexei.
The hacker’s fingers flew across his small keyboard as he connected a specialized USB chord to the vault’s external panel.
A string of code scrolled across his wrist screen, reflections dancing in his wide eyes.
[I’ve piggybacked into their maintenance protocols,] Daniel assisted him. [Feed in the patch file. You can do this]
"Patch file, patch file... come on, baby, don’t freeze on me now..." Alexei mumbled.
Meanwhile, Terrence closed his eyes. Through the vibrations in the floor, he checked for any sign of human life, as he did not fully trust Daniel after the incident back in the basement.
If he had learned anything from being a soldier, it was to trust only himself and to be suspicious of others at all times.
Alexie began feeding fake information to the panel, including retina scans, voice data, and other credentials they had gathered in advance.
This was the culmination of months of meticulous preparation — and it was paying off spectacularly.
With a final clicked, the massive locks disengaged.
The steel door shuddered, then began to slide open with a low, echoing rumble.
Katya and Terrence exchanged nod.
"Let’s go," she ordered, and they slipped into the vault first.
Inside, the room exploded with glittering wealth.
Mountains of gold bars, crates overflowing with cash bundles, and glass cases of jewelry gleamed under harsh strip light
"We need to find the diamond fast,"
Terrence moved , tossing aside crates and shoving gold bars out of the way. Katya ripped open smaller containers, scanning labels, her breath coming in short bursts.
Then —
A deep, mechanical groan shuddered through the floor.
Outside, Victor’s head snapped around. "What was that?"
Without warning, the vault door slammed shut with a thunderous clang.
Bolts shot into place like a steel coffin being sealed.
"NO!" Victor roared, lunging at the door.
Red alarm lights echoed along the walls.
A piercing siren exploded through the mansion halls, echoing off every marble surface.
Alexei stumbled backward, fingers fumbling for his gear.
"Shit! Shit! It has a lock down mechanism. No one told me about this!"
[Katya! James! You’re sealed in. They’re locking manual overrides now!]
Daniel’s voice sounded strained, panicked.
[Alexei, Victor — incoming guards, multiple people converging on your position!]
Victor spun around, SMG raised. Boots thundered closer — dozens of guards flooding into the hall, rifles already raised.
Alexei cursed, jamming his cables back into the panel.
"Hold them! I just need a minute or two!"
Victor fired a controlled burst. "Better do it fast or we will die here!"
.
.
.
Thud!
Katya slammed her fist against the inner wall of the vault.
"Get us out of here!"
Terrence remained calm. Breaking the vault open, even with his power, would be very difficult, so he decided to search for the diamond first.
"We’re going to die, and you’re still thinking about the mission?" Katya shouted, growing more frustrated as gunshots rang out outside.
"I mean, we can’t really do anything about it. Might as well find what we’re looking for," he replied, not even bothering to look at her.
He found some rare stones and stuffed them into his bag because they contained mana.
This made her even more furious, but in the end, she just decided to ignore him.
’Is this it?’
Terrence’s fingers tightened around the black case as another burst of muffled gunfire rattled the vault door.
When he opened it, he discovered a large, red diamond.
Immediately, he knew this was what they had been searching for — it contained a unique type of mana, the kind found only in the rarest of artifacts.
’Wow, no wonder people go to war over this thing. I can feel my affinity to flames increase just by holding it.’
He wasn’t exaggerating at all.
Unfortunately, even though his flames had grown stronger, he was still only at Stage 2, so they weren’t powerful enough to melt through that thick metal quickly.
And even if he did try, the heat would make the entire room unbearable and kill Katya first.
"Shit, we lost comms with Daniel. The mission is a bust," she clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"Don’t worry, we still have a chance of surviving," he reassured her.
She did not look pleased and grabbed him by the collar.
"And how do you expect us to do that? I’m sure those super soldiers will be waiting for us."
Luck just smiled . "I’m a superhuman too, remember?"
"You really think you can fight your way out against those soldiers?" she asked, her tone lowering down a bit.
Luck’s smirk widened. He gently pried her fingers off his clothing, almost as if he were handling something fragile.
"Once it opens... there are plenty of ways to deal with them."
Normally, she would have laughed at such an arrogant declaration.
She would have called him insane, reckless, delusional. But she didn’t. Maybe... just maybe, he really could do it.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the mansion.
Gunshots echoed in the distance.
"Rena! We have to move now!" Daniel hissed, as he disconnected from the local network.
She hesitated, glancing down the dark hallway that led deeper into the mansion — where Team 2 was still fighting.
"They’re not going to make it," Daniel said, almost as if he were reading her thoughts.
She swallowed hard. A bitter taste filled her mouth.
Behind them, two more teammates waited for her decision, their eyes wide with fear.
Rena’s heart screamed at her to go back and help, but the logical part of her — the part that had kept her alive this long — told her they had to leave.
"They will draw the guards," Daniel insisted, his voice cold and serious. "We stick to the plan. We get out. That’s it.
Rena closed her eyes for a second, fighting the guilt. Then she nodded.
Daniel gave the signal, and they started moving. Finally, they reached the exit hatch.
He threw it open and looked up at the night sky.
.

In front of the vault, Alexie was lying on the floor, knocked out cold. A small stream of blood ran down the side of his face.
Beside him was Victor’s body — but without a head.
His corpse was slumped against the wall, looking almost like a broken doll.
His head wasn’t cut off by a sword or knife. Instead, one of the super soldiers had ripped it off with his bare hands.
Nearby, the super soldier stood still, blood dripping from his fingers. His helmet covered his face completely, making him look more like a machine than a person.
Click!
Alexie’s program worked, and the vault door began to creak open slowly.
All the guards were smiling, confident because they had the intruders completely surrounded — and they got a super soldier present.
