Billionaire Mafia's Manny -
Chapter 82
Chapter 82: Chapter 82
Zeno reached the table and paused beside Sakura.
This felt like a punishment, speaking to someone and trying to convince them to love the same person you loved. He knew he didn’t have to ask twice. The way Sakura had her eyes glued to Sebastian felt like she could get pregnant by just looking at him.
He took a deep breath and called to her, "Hello, Sakura," Zeno greeted.
Sakura slowly removed her eyes from Sebastian and turned her head to look at the person beside her.
Zeno was awed by how beautiful she was; he was already seeing Sebastian falling for her; she was everything a man could ask for.
Sexy, beautiful, rich and charming. He knew Sebastian might be moved to bed her, she was very appealing to the eyes.
Sakura raised her slim, beautiful finger to her face and gently pushed her stray hair behind her ear.
"Hi?" She said in a soft voice as she stared at Zeno with her warm brown eyes.
Zeno clenched his fist inside his pocket before he spoke.
"Good evening. I’m Zeno Evander, Mr. Sebastian’s bodyguard," He introduced.
Sakura’s eyes immediately lightened up the moment she heard Zeno’s introduction.
Sakura turned to the young man beside her and smiled, "Excuse me, Brother, I have to speak to this one man," Sakura slowed and stood from her chair.
Zeno hadn’t even noticed the person beside Sakura; one look at the handsome man told him that he was Sakura’s brother. Their eyes met for a split second, and Zeno slowly removed his eyes.
"Come, Mr. Evander, we need to talk privately," Sakura held Zeno’s hand and led him past Sebastian’s table and toward the door that led to a large balcony.
Sebastian, who was sitting with his mother, suddenly saw a familiar figure walk past him.
He frowned and focused on the person, and when he confirmed that it was indeed, Zeno, he frowned harder when he realized that the person beside him was a lady.
What was Zeno doing with a lady? And where were they heading to?
"I see Sakura have caught your eyes, already," Mrs. Orion chuckled.
"Huh?" Sebastian slowly turned back to his mother when he saw Zeno follow the lady onto the balcony.
"You don’t have to hide your feelings, son, you’re man enough. The lady you were looking at is Mr. Takumi’s daughter, she’s single too," Mrs. Orion wiggles her brows at him.
Sebastian sighed, ’Not this again.’
"No, Madre, don’t start this again, you know how Georgia ended," Sebastian replied, glancing his eyes toward the balcony door.
"I know, I know, son, but you know, Georgia was the best thing to ever happen to you, if only you gave her a chance-"
"So it’s my fault she cheated with my best friend?" Sebastian interrupted angrily.
Mrs. Orion sighed and held Sebastian’s hands, "Calm down, Sebastian, I know you’re still angry, but think of it this way, she’s repentant of her actions and she’s ready to get back with you and there wouldn’t be any better choice for our Kenneth if not her real mother. I’m a mother, I know what I’m talking about; if you really love your son, please, give Georgia a chance, or at least, give another woman a chance," she pleaded.
Sebastian chuckled, "Don’t push it, Madre. The fact that I agreed to come to Japan doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten what happened; it doesn’t give you the right to speak to me about my life or my son’s life. Never mention this topic to me ever again," He removed his mother’s hand from his and stood.
"Have a good night, Madre," He nodded to his mother and started walking toward the balcony.
Mrs. Orion sighed and sipped her drink, looking around to check if anyone saw her arguing with her son.
Sebastian had almost reached the balcony door when someone tapped his shoulder.
"Good evening, Mr. Sebastian," A voice greeted behind him.
He turned, raising his brow when he saw the person behind him, "Kenji?" He called with a frown.
He knew Kenji Takumi from way back; they had gone to the same college, and the two of them weren’t really the best of friends because there had been a rival about who was the most popular and powerful; plus, Kenji was as pompous as a peacock.
"Long time no see, my dear friend," Kenji stretched his hand to Sebastian for a shake.
Sebastian raised a brow as he looked down at his; he scoffed and looked at Kenji right in a bored manner.
"What do you want, Kenji?" Sebastian fixed his hand into his pocket, staring pointedly at Kenji.
Kenji smiled, "Relax, old friend. I’m just here to welcome you to my county, don’t worry, I not trying to cross you; I’ve heard your name in the dark corners, and wouldn’t want to be on your blacklist now," Kenji stepped forward and smiled at Sebastian.
Sebastian remained unmovable, staring at Kenji. Kenji would never come to him if he didn’t want something, he was still waiting for him to say why he had walked up to him.
"Alright, fine. You’re always so uptight, no wonder you’re still single," Kenji muttered the last part.
Kenji saw that Sebastian wasn’t smiling so he cleared his throat and went straight to the point.
"Well, it’s about the guy pit in the balcony with my sister...Zeno I guess, he’s your bodyguard, right?" Kenji questioned.
Sebastian frowned, what was Kenji getting at?
"Yes, he is," Sebastian replied.
Kenji nodded, "I see you have a lot of bodyguards, and I hear there’s more from where they came from...I was wondering, could allow Zeno to come work with-"
"No, Kenji. And never bring this matter to me again," Sebastian scowled and immediately left, walking away from the balcony.
Why does it have to be Zeno all the time?
What was so attractive about him that made everyone want him beside them, either as a lover or an employee?
Kenji didn’t help Sebastian’s mood at all that evening, his mood dampened more, making him feel like he’d been rejected by his long-time crush under the pouring storm.
Sebastian stood in a quiet corner and watched the large decorated hall as everyone smiled and chatted with each other; a bunch of people flooded around his father and mother, smiling widely as they praised their efforts so far.
The halm was full of people yet he missed only one person.
He glanced at the balcony for the last time before he proceeded to leave the hall.
"Stay," He said to Ida and Jasper who wanted to follow him out of the hall.
"But boss-"
Sebastian turned and glared at Jasper who wanted to question his decision.
Ida quickly held Jasper’s wrist and pulled him back, "Yes, boss. We’ll wait until the party’s over," Ids responded.
"Yes, boss," Japser immediately bowed his head, understanding that he’d almost gone out of place tonight.
Sebastian turned and left the hall.
He didn’t want to be here. He had just honored the invitation because he knew that his father had opened the Airway in Japan under his son’s name. It wouldn’t be good for the business if he didn’t show up.
Since he’d never bring his son to someplace as dangerous as a gala full of enemies pretending to be friends, he decided to come himself; at least they would think twice before attacking him.
Out on the balcony, Zeno was done telling Sakura his reason for approaching her.
He was super glad when his job and torture were shortened by Sakura when she told him that Mr. Orion had already heard about him.
He was very glad when she told him that she couldn’t go up to Sebastian’s room that night because she still had to go to some other place with her brother.
But she surely made plans to meet with him when she came over to the States.
"I’m so glad; I’ve had a crush on Sebastian since college. I was very debated when he married out of the blue, but look at us now; fate still brought us together. I’ve always known he would be mine. Thanks for coming to me tonight, Zeno, I’m really glad. I see us becoming fast friends," Sakura excitedly ranted.
Zeno just stared at her, feeling numb inside.
Sakura was such a lovely, chatty girl, and anyone would like her, but not Zeno.
The fact that she loved Sebastian made him dislike her, he didn’t hate her, but he didn’t share in her enthusiasm of being friends with him.
"I understand, Sakura. However, it’d be best for us to keep our distance. As you know, Mr. Orion wouldn’t want Mr. Sebastian to know about our plan, it’d defeat the arm, which is to make him believe that your meeting with his son was natural, trust me, neither you nor I would come out of this alive if he found out we’ve conspired to get you in his bed...I don’t mean any offense," Zeno said with a slide head tilt.
Sakura smiled, "I understand, Zeno. I’ll keep my distance whenever he’s around, but here’s my card, please call or text whenever there’s an update," She offered Zeno her card.
"See you later, Sakura," Zeno nodded at her and walked out first from the balcony.
He walked out and searched the place for Sebastian, but just like the rest of the day, Sebastian was nowhere to be seen.
"Zeno," Ida sudenmy walked up Zeno.
"Hey..." Zeno replied. Still searching.
"I know you’re looking for him but he’d left already. Here," Ida gave him an envelope.
Zeno frowned as he stared at the envelope, "What’s that?"
Ida sighed and moved closer.
"This is what Mrs. Orion asked me to give to the boss. I figured it should be you who should give it to him, you both look like you need a lot of talking to do and honestly, so do I," Ida explained.
"I don’t know how about you, but tonight, I’m becoming someone’s boyfriend; what do you say? Going or not?" Ida questioned as he still held the envelope out to Zeno.
Zeno stared at the envelope for a long time; he didn’t know about becoming someone’s boyfriend tonight since it was still very complicated. But he was very sure that he was going to tell someone how he felt about them, even though he was going to be rejected, nothing was going to stop him from saying it tonight.
He grabbed the envelope from Ida. "What room?" He looked so determined more than ever.
