Chapter 59: Chapter 59

Sebastian got out of the shower with his white towel around his waist.

He stared at Zeno and was relieved to see that he looked more relaxed now. There was no longer a crease on his forehead or brows.

He walked over to his wardrobe and took out dark blue pyjama pants which he pulled up his legs before removing the towel and hanging it.

Sebastian walked over to the bed and gently climbed on it, carefully so he didn’t wake or disturb Zeno.

He first lay on his side, staring at Zeno’s face. The more he stared at Zeno, the more lost he was in thoughts.

Why was he irrevocably attracted to him?

He should hate him, but for a long time now, he’s not been able to hate him, another unknown feeling was slowly starting to occupy his mind and heart.

But he liked that feeling. He was supposed to hate Zeno because he was appointed by his father as his bodyguard Manny, but he didn’t; no matter how he tried to force himself to hate Zeno, he couldn’t.

He was never going to let his father be the one to dictate how he lived his life. He’d let him do it before, and it didn’t turn out well, he wasn’t making the same mistake twice.

That was why he decided to prove to his father that Zeno wasn’t the best option for him as a bodyguard or a Manny; but, thinking back to how he’d been treating Zeno, he started to feel a little bad for it, he was becoming a little reluctant to go on with the act.

Zeno had never wronged him, not once, apart from the fact that he was set up by his ex-wife, Georgia Einstein; he could not point out any other thing that Zeno had done wrong.

However, he suddenly remembered the chip he found on Zeno’s clothes the day he had taken him to his hotel.

Back then, he had hoped that Zeno was really plotting against him so that he’d show it to his father as evidence of why he’d be terminating his contract with Zeno. But, right now, as he stared at Zeno’s calm, sleeping face, he wished that he was set up, just like the last time.

He started to realize that he didn’t want to send Zeno away, even if he was guilty of spying on him...he was no longer sure he’d still chase him away...he was realizing that ever since Zeno walked into his life, he’d never gone a day without touching or talking with him.

They weren’t even friends yet he was already feeling an absence from imagining how everywhere would be when Zeno left.

He wondered how his son would cope. The little guy had come to love Zeno more than he loved his own father.

"Mmm..." Zeno hummed very softly and frowned a little.

Sebastian immediately snapped out of his thoughts and moved closer to Zeno.

He placed a hand on his cheeks and spoke softly, "Zeno, Zeno, are you feeling better?" He asked quietly.

Zeno furrowed his brows and slowly opened his eyes to a slit.

His vision was blurry, but the face before him was familiar, he slowly raised his hand to Sebastian’s face and used his fingers to search his face.

"Who...are...you?" Zeno slurred, his voice low.

Sebastian sighed but he didn’t move away from Zeno’s curious fingers. He felt Zeno’s fingers on his forehead, his nose, his jaws, and his lips.

Zeno left his fingers there, a small smile playing on his lips, "It’s you..."

Sebastian was smitten by the cute look on Zeno’s face. He kept asking himself how a man could be that beautiful.

"Who am I, Zeno?" Sebastian asked in a soft voice, wondering if Zeno could recognize him through his hazy mind.

Zeno chuckled cutely, he removed his hand from Sebastian’s lips and lowered it to his chest, "You’re my ruthless boss..." He spoke slowly.

Sebastian paused for a second; he didn’t know what he was expecting to hear but definitely not that.

Was that the only thing he was to him? A ruthless boss?

"And..." Zeno moved like a cat and placed his head on Sebastian’s chest, "You’re my Sebastian too," He whispered.

Sebastian froze, and Zeno’s words triggered something feral within him.

He never liked to be referred to as belonging to anyone but coming from Zeno at that moment, he didn’t mind being his; he wished Zeno was fully awake; maybe they would have addressed some issues that were terribly bothering his heart at that moment.

"I’m your Sebastian?" Sebastian questioned as if he was doubting what he’d heard from Zeno the first time.

Zeno hummed, "But...you’re so mean to me..." He was about to touch Sebastian’s face and tried to open his eyes wider but he immediately closed it, wincing.

"It hurts," He held his head and rolled away from Sebastian.

Sebastian immediately sat up and moved closer to Zeno, who was now backing him.

"Hey," He gently lifted him and placed his upper body on his thigh.

Zeno was still holding his head as he felt himself being placed on someone’s lap. He moved his body from side to side until he was comfortable.

Sebastian had earlier prepared a jug of water and a glass on the bedside table so he only needed a little stretching to get it.

He poured water into the glass and then lifted Zeno to a sitting position.

"Drink some water," He whispered from behind Zeno as rested against his chest.

He moved the water to Zeno’s lips but Zeno slowly moved his head away from the glass.

Zeno shook his head, "Not thirsty, just want to sleep..."

Sebastian gently placed his arm around Zeno, resting it on his abdomen, "Come on, baby. Please, just a few sips," Sebastian begged in a dotting tone.

Zeno hesitated for a second before he slowly nodded.

He moved his head closer to the glass and took a few sips then moved his head away and rested it back on Sebastian’s chest.

"Just because you called me baby," Zeno whispered and closed his eyes.

Sebastian took a deep breath to calm his nerves, which were uncharacteristically all over the place.

He was feeling very different from Zeno that night. It scared him.

If he continued to feel this way, he was no kid; he knew what it’d mean. But he can’t let that happen, he can never let that happen with a fellow man.

Perhaps, just as he’d asked Zeno earlier, he was the same as him... he was gay for Zeno.

He wasn’t attracted to other guys, and his desire for women was suddenly non-existent.

Maybe it was time he stopped fighting whatever this feeling was and faced it like the man he was.

He suddenly got a perfect idea of how to finally win the silent battle against his father.

"Sleepy," Zeno murmured and was about to roll away from Sebastian again but he gently caught his arm.

"Let me hold you," Sebastian suggested softly.

He lay Zeno on the middle of the bed and positioned himself behind him, he had his arm possessively placed on Zeno’s waist as he drew him closer to himself in a spooning position.

He immediately noticed how Zeno’s temperature had reduced and sighed in relief, "You’re fine, baby..." Sebastian groggily whispered.

He was tired, and finally, he could relax now that Zeno wasn’t running a high temperature anymore, he hugged him tighter and placed a gentle kiss behind Zeno’s neck.

"I’m gay for you, too," Sebastian whispered before sleep finally enveloped him.

In the bodyguards’ quarters, Ida was walking toward his room that night when he noticed someone following him behind.

He paused and turned, only for him to see Cody slowly trailing behind him.

He wanted to run to him out of excitement and tell him how the mission went, but he remembered he wasn’t allowed to act extra with him anymore.

He slowly turned and continued walking toward his room.

He knew Cody was still following him but he refused to look at him.

He was unlocking his door when he suddenly heard Cody’s voice behind him.

"Hi. Ida," Cody said quietly.

Ida unlocked his door before turning to look at Cody. "Hey, Cody, what’s up?" He asked casually.

Cody noticed how casually Ida was sounding toward him and a part of his heart hurt.

Before, Ida would have dragged him by his arm and into his room, telling him everything that happened in the mission, and would proceed to make love to him. But right now, he was looking at him with unfamiliar eyes.

Cody bit his lip and looked up at Ida, "I’m fine. How was the mission?" He asked, curious to know everything Ida did at the club."

Ida shrugged, "Just so-so. Goodnight, Cody. See you around tomorrow," Ida nodded at him, turned, and walked into his room.

He was about to shut his door when Cody held it with his hands.

"Um, can I help you with something?" Ida asked with a straight face.

"Can I come in?" He asked, staring into Ida’s eyes.

Ids was taken aback. He never expected Cody to ever ask him that kind of question anymore, "Well, I thought you said-"

"As a friend, of course...or, are your friends no longer allowed to come in and sleep over?"

Ida widened his eyes, "Sleepover?" He was in disbelief, was Cody setting a trap for him?

Cody shrugged, "You never complained in the past."

Ida opened and closed his mouth, thinking of the proper reply, "Things have changed now, Cody..." He sighed.

"So, you lied when you said we’ll be friends right?" Cody questioned further, a little frown on his beautiful face.

Ida closed his eyes for a second before he slowly opened his door wider and stepped out of the way, "Make yourself at home." He said in a defeated tone and walked into his room.

Cody smirked as he followed Ida into his room, locking the door as he did.

He was standing beside Ida’s bed, watching him as he took everything he’d be needing after showering, Cody realized that Ida wasn’t going to remove his clothes in front of him like he used to.

He watched him as he entered his bathroom without saying a word to him.

He felt heavily neglected; Ida had never been this nonchalant toward him, somehow, it hurt.

He was losing his best friend and the person he loved, all because of his cowardice. He couldn’t own up to his damn feelings.

Ida stepped out of the bathroom, completely dressed in black shorts and a white shirt.

He paused when he saw Cody lying on his side of the bed. Cody already had a side he preferred to sleep in, so why was he suddenly lying on his side?

He picked up his phone and walked over to the other side of the bed, ignoring Cody.

Cody watched Ida get into bed without even mentioning the sleeping position, he had wanted to see if that would make him speak to him, but it failed.

Ida was busy on his phone when he felt Cody crawl to his side and sit down beside him, resting his back on the headboard.

He refused to look at him and continued what he was doing on his phone.

He suddenly heard Cody release a long and heavy sigh beside him.

He placed his phone beside him and finally turned to Cody, "What’s the problem, Cody?"

Cody didn’t speak, he just stared at Ida’s face without blinking.

"Um...okay, have a good night then," Ida nodded at him and was about to turn away from him.

However, Cody caught his arm and forced his face back to him. He narrowed his eyes on Ida’s lips, "What happened to your lips?" He asked with a frown.

Ida furrowed his brows in confusion but he suddenly remembered that Sebastian had punched his lips.

"It’s nothing; it’ll be gone before morning," he tried to remove his arm from Cody’s hold but it was impossible.

"Cody..." He called softly, begging him with his eyes to release him.

Cody raised a brow at him, "So you weren’t planning to tell me you were hurt if I hadn’t found out, right?" He sounded angry but mostly concerned.

He raised his hand to Ida’s face and wanted to touch his lips but Ida caught his arm and moved away from him.

Ida sighed, "You’re not my boyfriend, Cody. I don’t owe you a daily report of my life. Goodnight." He polity replied and turned away from him, lying down.

Cody felt a sharp pain pierce his heart; Ida had never been this mean to him. But he guessed he deserved it; he was the one who wanted this in the first place, and he’d accept it with good fate.

He slowly lowered himself on the bed, facing Ida’s back, "Good night, Ida."
