Chapter 1207: Chapter 1207: Ambushed
Young people always have limited patience. After this group of young people chattered for a while and shot a few videos, they left.
Feng Jun couldn’t help but think of his own younger days. Of course, he wasn’t particularly old now, but thinking about his college years, it seemed as if they were an eternity ago.
In fact, his feeling wasn’t entirely wrong. If counted from his graduation, it had been only six years. But including the three-plus years in the mobile phone realm, it had been nearly ten years.
In the Earth Realm, his registered age was twenty-seven years old, but his actual age was already over thirty.
Lost in his random thoughts, he wasn’t aware of when it started to rain lightly again. He let himself become immersed in the drizzle.
It wasn’t until dusk approached that he broke free from his reverie, a momentary puzzlement crossing his mind: Why hadn’t Sister Hong been clamoring for dinner?
Recently, Sister Hong had been having a decent appetite. When she’d returned earlier, she even said she wanted roast lamb leg for dinner.
Suddenly, an inexplicable sense of danger surged up. He instinctively began circulating his energy through his meridians, only to find with shock that the spiritual energy within him was moving exceptionally slowly!
Because the sense of danger wasn’t overpowering, Feng Jun planned to check his mobile phone to figure out what was happening. But he found his arm was as heavy as lead, reminiscent of when he’d been in the Mortal Realm—leadbound and powerless.
"Huh? Interesting," he murmured to himself, struggling to circulate his spiritual energy. After completing one cycle through his meridians, he realized what was wrong: He had been poisoned!
Was this Earth Realm still capable of producing a poison that could suppress me so thoroughly? He found it hard to believe, but quickly warned himself inwardly: Don’t get cocky, stay calm.
After circulating his energy through two additional cycles, he’d expelled most of the toxins. He tried to shift his body and discreetly retrieved his mobile phone, attempting to stand up but accidentally slipped into the muddy water.
Once down in the mud, he couldn’t get back up. His body occasionally twitched, but it looked more like meaningless spasms.
By about ten o’clock at night, a small van drove slowly up, and four raincoat-wearing individuals emerged.
Was it necessary to wear raincoats inside a van? Especially when the drizzling rain had now stopped?
The four fiddled with the villa’s entry system for a while, and the gate unlocked. Two went inside the villa, and the other two approached Feng Jun.
Sister Hong was carried out of the villa unconscious. Because of the hot weather, she was wearing only a small camisole and a pair of shorts, her two fair legs shamelessly exposed to the pitch-dark night.
Feng Jun was lifted by two of them as well, but before they carried him, one of the raincoat-clad individuals—possibly frustrated by his persistent attempts to move—pulled out a syringe and administered an injection.
They loaded the pair onto the van. One of the raincoat individuals casually picked up some object at the roadside and then the van slowly drove away from the villa, heading leisurely toward the housing estate’s rear gate.
After the driver flashed a black card, the vehicle passed through the estate and disappeared into the rainy night.
At this moment, Feng Jun was actually fully conscious. He had already expelled all the toxins from his body, but he still couldn’t figure out what this neurotoxin was or where it had come from.
The first question he pondered was whether this toxin came from domestic or foreign sources.
The main reason he hadn’t acted immediately was that he used his mobile phone to confirm that Sister Hong had also been poisoned.
Feng Jun knew that he could purge these toxins from his own body, but whether Sister Hong could achieve the same outcome was another matter altogether.
No matter what the circumstances were, he was determined to find out who the mastermind behind this was. So... playing along it is.
If the perpetrators were foreign forces, he had his ways to deal with them. But if they were domestic forces, then he could only smirk disdainfully at their audacity.
The raincoat-wearing individuals had been particularly cautious, leaving behind Feng Jun’s and Sister Hong’s mobile phones in the villa, and even conducting a thorough search of the pair in the van.
Due to Sister Hong’s minimal clothing, she was spared from a thorough search. However, the storage talisman hidden in her shorts pocket was taken.
Fortunately, the small pouch containing her Essence Blood Protection Talisman and other items remained intact. Perhaps fearing exposure, the assailants refrained from opening it.
This was precisely why Feng Jun had been patiently biding his time—Sister Hong’s protective talisman hadn’t been triggered, which indicated she hadn’t faced a fatal threat.
The van drove for over twenty minutes before reaching a dark location where a business vehicle awaited. The attackers moved them onto the business vehicle, and the two cars split up.
Shortly after boarding the business vehicle, Sister Hong’s body twitched subtly twice, which resulted in her receiving another injection.
Seeing her movement tempted Feng Jun to act, but he reconsidered, deciding instead to gather more intel on his enemies.
Although he could potentially use the "Nearby People" function to locate his adversaries, the success rate wouldn’t be one hundred percent. Furthermore, he believed that since their operation was so meticulously planned, their organizational structure would be exceptionally tight.
If faced with a particularly tight-knit organization, he might not be able to follow the clues back to the mastermind.
In fact, he suspected this was the work of Ni Hong operatives; his feud with them ran deep.
If it really was Ni Hong moving against him, their focus on details would surpass ordinary standards.
In short, Feng Jun had made up his mind: As long as they didn’t separate him from Sister Hong, he could endure this reluctantly.
If they showed any intention of separating them, he’d step in immediately—Feng Jun absolutely wouldn’t allow his woman to be put in uncontrollable danger, especially given Ni Hong’s notorious reputation in certain aspects.
Luckily, Sister Hong had remained within Feng Jun’s sight the entire time.
Since there were constant watchers, Feng Jun refrained from frequently using his mobile phone to check the time and location. Still, as an Ascended cultivator, his general judgments wouldn’t be far off.
He’d been swapped between cars five times and even transported via shipping at one point. After approximately twenty hours, he was loaded onto a sea vessel in Kuaiji Province.
Out to sea? At this point, Feng Jun was nearly certain the culprits weren’t from Huaxia. Otherwise, there’d be no reason to bring him and Sister Hong out to sea—it was inconvenient and unsafe.
Before boarding the ship, Feng Jun received another injection. However, prepared as he was, the Earth Realm’s petty anesthetics posed no threat to him.
After they boarded, the sky quickly turned pitch black. The vigilance of their captors did not waver: three individuals continued to monitor them without blinking.
Feng Jun had no idea what sort of ship he was on or its speed. What he did know was that the ship appeared to be of high quality—there was little fishy smell, and it hardly rocked.
After being at sea for over two hours, one of the three watchers murmured something in English about needing to use the restroom.
It was at this moment Feng Jun launched his Divine Sense Attack.
Not only did he incapacitate the three guards, but he also used his Divine Sense to scan the entire ship. Although Divine Sense scanning wasn’t as precise as his mobile phone’s scanning, he quickly determined that the vessel was a luxury catamaran.
A catamaran offers exceptional stability and spaciousness, a true luxury yacht. Such yachts are increasingly common in Huaxia, usually purchased for rental in tourist areas.
Feng Jun chose this moment to act because he felt the ship had left the mainland far enough behind. Though likely still within the exclusive economic zone, there wouldn’t be too many variables.
He strongly suspected that had he remained unconscious any longer, he might have been transferred to a specialized ship, bound, and interrogated smugly by someone who thought they had the upper hand.
Although he was confident no alloys could hold him, he didn’t relish the idea of openly breaking free in such a scenario—some might find it cool, but he considered that kind of cliché dramatically pathetic.
So he decided this was the perfect moment—the adversaries wouldn’t dare act recklessly yet, and he’d already freed himself from certain restraints.
As for whether he could identify the mastermind immediately? No one could guarantee that. But Feng Jun reasoned that, given the ship’s progress, the mastermind either had to be on board or close by.
He was done tolerating this, so after taking down the three captors, he scanned with his Divine Sense again. Finding no one monitoring any screens, he raised his hand, destroying two cameras mid-air.
As for the recordings from those cameras? Come on, they’d need a chance to review them first.
Then he sprang to his feet, ready to check on Sister Hong’s condition.
To his surprise, Sister Hong also leaped up like a carp, "You scared me half to death! Are you okay?"
Feng Jun looked at her speechlessly, unsure of what to say, before finally asking, "Are you okay?"
"I have strong drug resistance," Sister Hong replied softly, her face flushing unexpectedly as she recalled something.
Indeed, her resistance to drugs was exceptional; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of a drug-spiked wine to seduce this young man in front of her. Later, when they parted ways in the morning, she even managed to maintain her dignity as a woman.
"You should’ve told me earlier," Feng Jun muttered, annoyed. If I’d known you were fine, why would I have allowed myself to be dragged out to sea?
Sister Hong shot him a defiant look, "I saw you lying there like a dead pig. How could I not be concerned for you?"
To put it simply, they had both cared too much about each other, which led to them feeling so restrained. Neither had anticipated that the other was conscious as well.
A sudden wave of tenderness rose in Feng Jun’s heart, but it quickly gave way to seriousness. "Are you sure your body is fine?"
Sister Hong rolled her eyes, "Funny, I was just about to ask you the same thing."
Feng Jun didn’t argue with her, speaking decisively, "Then let’s take control of this ship first."
"Alright, let’s do it," Sister Hong replied casually, then gritted her teeth fiercely, "I just want to know who’s behind this. And that bastard injecting me... every time they groped my butt!"
Feng Jun had seen her get injected and couldn’t help laughing, "The one giving the injections was a woman. Don’t take it too seriously. Besides, if she didn’t press down on you, wouldn’t she risk jabbing you in the waist?"
Even under these circumstances, he still had the mental clarity to joke—a reflection of his true capability and confidence.
