Chapter 1164: Chapter 1164: Human Sentiments (One Update to Celebrate Leader Qing Yi)

Feng Jun, after listening to Chen Junsheng’s account, couldn’t help but sigh, "Jing Qingyang’s luck is truly remarkable."

Initially, he couldn’t even enter the Immortal Market, but through a twist of fate, he was brought in by being noticed, and then encountered Chen Junsheng, a former Innate Expert.

Jing Qingyang’s greatest stroke of luck was killing a Qi Refining cultivator—one who also happened to be enormously wealthy. This was exceedingly rare; who goes out for robbery with cash and martial arts manuals on them?

This is practically the treatment of a protagonist, not to mention that the benefactors allowed him to keep the manuals.

Of course, another crucial point is that he managed to find people in the unfamiliar Cultivation World whom he could trust and rely on.

That’s no easy task. If he had entrusted the wrong person, could mere Innate Experts protect both the manuals and a hundred Spirit Stones? It must be noted that they didn’t even have a "green card" in the Cultivation World—only short-term work permits. If they died, it wouldn’t even count.

Chen Junsheng sighed along as he listened, then proactively disclosed that he had used the resources of the estate to earn some Spirit Stones.

To Feng Jun, this wasn’t a big deal. Being able to support oneself was far better than being a drain on the Spirit Stones he had left behind. Moreover, Chen Junsheng hadn’t concealed this matter, which was enough for him.

"Alright, I’m aware of all this now," he nodded, "Organize the major events of your experience and bring them to me later. For now, there’s nothing pressing. Why don’t you go and chat with Junwei? After all, it’s been a while since you two met."

After saying this, he went to the back courtyard to find Kong Ziyi.

Kong Ziyi adapted quickly. She hadn’t lived in such humble courtyards before, yet she had somehow procured a refrigerator and was clumsily trying to connect the wires, attempting to get it powered.

Though Feng Jun was more of a liberal arts scholar, he had no issues handling such matters. He quickly stepped forward to take over the task, casually suggesting that refrigerators are usually placed in the kitchen and that it’s easier to grab cold drinks with just a few steps. Of course, if she found it inconvenient, having one in the room was fine too.

As soon as the power was connected, Chen Junsheng called through the intercom, saying that Steward Yao from the market was requesting to meet.

Interestingly, Steward Yao wasn’t there to see Feng Jun but Kong Ziyi instead. He had an elder brother in the Taiqing Sect and had himself worked in the Taiqing Market. He was very well aware of how favored Kong Ziyi was in front of Master Sumiao. Upon hearing of her arrival, he immediately came over.

And he wasn’t alone. He had even brought along Old Man Su from the Changhai Book House and Old Man Su’s young granddaughter.

Old Man Su had a grandson in the Taiqing Sect, making him no outsider. To top it off, he had even done business with Feng Jun before.

After a bit of chatter, another visitor arrived. This time, it was Liang Yisi, who, having learned of Feng Jun’s return, came to personally pay his respects.

Liang Yisi had lost a leg in his battle with the Xue Family. Although it was later reattached, Loose Cultivators couldn’t afford high-quality Spiritual Medicine, further delaying treatment. As a result, the reattached leg had severely atrophied, leaving Liang Yisi limping noticeably as he walked.

Even so, Liang Yisi still remained a rare and valiant warrior in Ji Ping’an’s team.

He had come to thank Feng Jun and extended an invitation for him to visit his home.

Feng Jun declined the invitation, citing his busy schedule, though he gifted Liang Yisi ten jars of five-jin "Seven Parts Memory" liquor.

Liang Yisi hadn’t yet left when there was another visitor from Tiantong. Strangely, it wasn’t one of the usual companions of Huang Fu Wuxia.

Upon closer inquiry, it turned out to be someone from President Jiang, who was responsible for liaising with the Yinsha faction. The visitor expressed that President Jiang had long admired Mountain Master Feng. If Feng Jun ever passed through Yinsha’s domain, he must notify President Jiang in advance so he could act as host.

However, Feng Jun remembered that this very President Jiang had mercilessly bullied Huang Fu Wuxia in the past.

Now, the man had proactively sought to curry favor, most likely upon hearing of Nangong Youjiu’s misfortunes. Although Nangong’s rank in Tiantong might have been slightly lower, as a headquarters Executor, he had access to central authority.

Feng Jun managing to turn Nangong Youjiu into such a disheveled state—so much that survival hinged on his goodwill—understandably put fear into the heart of President Jiang.

In short, while cultivators emphasized personal strength, maintaining certain social connections was equally necessary. The mundane world thrives on relationships, and the Cultivation World is no exception.

Cutting off emotions and desires? Impossible! Such acts of severance only arise when disparity in power exists.

Interestingly, Liang Yisi, despite his lame leg, kept an icy demeanor toward President Jiang’s envoy—even though the person was at the First Stage of Dust Release.

After the envoy departed, Liang Yisi finally spoke in a muffled tone, "This person maintains close ties with the Nangong Family and has had frequent conflicts with the Huang Fu Family recently."

See? Even factional strife exists. Who could possibly immerse themselves solely in cultivation without paying any attention to external intrigues?

Feng Jun wasn’t opposed to social calls but wasn’t particularly fond of them either. While the number of visitors today wasn’t many, he still noticed a trend: many strangers had begun actively seeking him out.

Undoubtedly, this had to do with his Out-of-Dust Stage identity. Although he had reached this stage before leaving the Immortal Market last time, only a handful of people knew back then. Over the past year, his achievements at Mount Zhige had lifted his reputation significantly.

Not to mention, certain disciples of the Taiqing Sect had noticed Kong Ziyi.

Based on Feng Jun’s observations, if he stayed at Qiuchen Immortal Workshop, the social obligations would only grow increasingly burdensome.

After all, the Immortal Workshop wasn’t a place purely for cultivation. While it provided facilities, elixirs, talismans, cultivation techniques, magical tools, and natural treasures, its core was still a bazaar.

A few days earlier, Feng Jun had spared Nangong Youjiu to better treat Kong Ziyi. Back then, he had regretted not acquiring a shop in the core area of Qiuchen Market. But now, he felt relieved—luckily, he had refrained.

Owning a property here would have been trivial compared to the greater discomfort: inadequate settings for cultivation.

Even if he knew full well that "the tender embrace is the hero’s grave," how could he willingly abandon all of it?

That night, Huang Fu Wuxia didn’t show up. At first light the next morning, Feng Jun quietly left with Master Yang—better to leave before Huang Fu Wuxia came to confront him.

Kong Ziyi noticed his departure, thought about it for a while, but ultimately didn’t follow.

Feng Jun’s words about her grandmother lingered in her mind. Upon reflection, she realized they applied to herself as well: "My illness is for the healer to worry about. If I concern myself too much, it could hinder the practitioner’s performance. That wouldn’t benefit me at all."

Ordinary patients might not influence practitioners, but to the close kin of Golden Core Masters, the dynamic was altogether different.

When Feng Jun left, though he seemed carefree on the surface, he was exceptionally vigilant on the inside. He didn’t want anyone tailing him.

After taking Master Yang out of the market, Feng Jun released the Time Shuttle and flew more than two hundred miles before landing.

Master Yang had remained silent the whole way. Only at that moment did he mutter four words, "Is it beginning now?"

"Yes," Feng Jun nodded solemnly. "Master Fu should’ve explained the situation to you before. That’s why I advise you to remove your armor and storage bag. I don’t care if you resist, but... it will only make things harder on you."

Master Yang silently took off his storage bag, then retrieved a gray bead, about the size of a ping-pong ball, from within his clothing. He also removed a jade-colored hairpin from his head and placed them aside.

He had already resigned himself to his fate, believing that if he were to die, it would have to be by Feng Jun’s hands—otherwise, it wouldn’t be worth it. Thus, he had some protective gear on him.

After putting down the items, he said, "These objects belong to the Yang Family. If Master Chen finds no use for them, please hand them over to the Nangong Family to return to my clan."

"You really seem to trust the Nangong Family," Feng Jun replied, chuckling indifferently. "I fail to see how they’re all that trustworthy."

Master Yang, however, wasn’t blindly trusting the Nangong Family. He was already irked by Nangong Youjiu’s attempts to shirk responsibility, but there was little point in dwelling on that now—especially since his protective gear was essentially disposable consumables.

Still, Feng Jun’s casual tone piqued his curiosity. "How much pain am I going to endure?"

"I’m not sure," Feng Jun replied as he took out a Spirit Binding Array Plate and placed it on the ground. "Step inside."

This was merely a cover. Given that he intended to conduct multiple experiments on Master Yang, he absolutely wouldn’t allow him to deduce any valid conclusions—such as "only physical contact causes me to lose consciousness."

After all, he was on the verge of going toe-to-toe with Master Busheng. Should this knowledge reach Ji Buseng’s ears, a Golden Core Master could deduce a lot from just a little.

Master Yang glanced at the Spirit Binding Array and scrunched his nose with disdain. "Qi Refining Initial Stage... Do you seriously think such an array could restrain me?"

Feng Jun chuckled nonchalantly. "As long as you don’t resist, the test can proceed... otherwise, it’d truly be meaningless."

Though he had better Spirit Binding Arrays, he had accidentally made extra copies while analyzing them. Given that he only needed to slightly restrict his subject, this array sufficed.

Master Yang pursed his lips again but said nothing further. He simply stepped into the center of the Spirit Binding Array.

Feng Jun activated the array, observing the subject calmly submit to its binding effects. Only then did he speak, "Don’t you want to know what I’m testing?"

"Hmm?" Master Yang blinked in surprise, but before he could react further, his vision went black, and his consciousness faded.

When Feng Jun brought Master Yang to the small grove in the Earth Realm, Feng Jing had barely walked ten meters away.

Hearing movement behind her, she spun around sharply, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. "Goodness, another one?"

"I don’t enjoy being so busy either," Feng Jun said with a helpless smile. "But if this task is completed, I might secure a storage bag with a capacity over one hundred thousand cubic meters."

He chose not to mention it was for curing Kong Ziyi. He already had quite a few women in his life, enough for rivalries to bubble beneath the surface. He didn’t want to intensify the jealousy with more disputes.

Teacher Mei blinked once, then nodded faintly. "A storage bag that large must cost a fortune in Spirit Stones... a hundred thousand?"

Feng Jun chuckled. "Could be more. Either way, it’s a busy time for me."

At that moment, a voice rang out from nearby, "What’s this... another one?"
