Chapter 90: A.I. Chip

Chapter 90: A.I. Chip

The end of the battle against Arasbus and the high demonic horde brought pure thrill and happiness, which only increased with Vlad’s canonization by the Plane Will as a World King’s candidate.

However, once the excitement subsided and it was time to handle the battlefield’s aftermath, a somber and sad aura enveloped the soldiers. The reason was simple: during the last clash, in which the soldiers had charged into the fray to fight the wounded demons, there had been casualties, eleven to be precise.

Eleven deaths in a battle that claimed over six thousand demons were nothing short of miraculous and any leader would be thrilled by such an outcome. It would be a lie to say that Vlad was not pleased with how things turned out, but that did not mean he was unaffected by the loss of his soldiers.

With fewer than two hundred warriors fighting by his side, Vlad knew each one personally. They had dreams and hopes, but they were gone.

This was the nature of the world they lived in, and Vlad was determined to rise higher and higher, gaining the power to protect his loved ones and all those who chose to put their faith in him.

While the battle was over, much work remained. They needed to handle the demons’ corpses, clean the battlefield, reconstruct the walls, and care for the civilians.

Vlad was the undisputed and absolute leader of the Silent Wind Military Base, but that did not mean he had to do everything himself. He delegated these tasks to those well-versed in them, like General Anglius and First Lieutenant Mitchell, before heading to his residence with Jormungandr.

Once the young man and the cat were alone, Vlad showed a thrilled and focused expression as he remembered the voice that appeared in his mind shortly after the golden lightning had struck him.

"A.I. Chip?"

[Beep. Awaiting order from the Host.]

Pure and absolute thrill appeared in Vlad’s eyes as he heard that response. When building a kingdom, logistics, and management were crucial, areas in which he lacked expertise, but the A.I. Chip would change everything.

Jormungandr had been waiting silently by Vlad’s side, but once he heard the young man utter those words, he couldn’t help but exclaim, "Boss, you also heard the strange robotic voice in your head?"

"Jormungandr, you also have it!?" Vlad’s eyes widened at the small yellow cat’s words, and his smile grew even wider. He knew how amazing the A.I. Chip was and how helpful it would be, especially for a Mage like Jormungandr.

"Yes. I heard it shortly after the golden lightning struck you. I was waiting for the right moment to bring it up." The small yellow cat nodded, and relief appeared on his face. It was clear now that Vlad was aware of the A.I. Chip, meaning there was nothing to worry about.

Vlad stared at the small cat for a few moments before a meaningful light appeared in his eyes, and he came up with an answer. "A piece of my soul is in yours, making us one entity in a sense. Since the A.I. Chip is part of my soul, it makes sense that it also appears in yours."

Jormungandr nodded as Vlad’s explanation made sense. He remained silent as he gazed at the young man, waiting to know more about the A.I. Chip. Luckily for him, the young man did not keep him waiting.

"The A.I. Chip is something that came from my Second Past Life. It started as a simple device, but it became part of my soul by some twist of fate. Although I still have no personal memories, I remember the A.I. Chip’s abilities, and in its final form, it was nothing short of a divine treasure." Vlad’s eyes glowed with thrill and excitement as he uttered those words, and without losing focus, he carried on.

"The A.I. Chip was initially designed with two main functions: data storage and analysis. For data analysis, it responds to commands from its Host, collecting data samples and running simulations to make informed deductions. As for storage, the system has an even simpler role. It captures and records everything the host experiences through their five senses, preserving every detail."

Vlad made a small pause at this point, and upon ensuring that Jormungandr was still focused, he carried on.

"Its ability rose to a whole new level after it became part of my soul. The fusion allowed every bit of information analyzed by the A.I. Chip to become part of my memory and skills. Martial skills and Force abilities became muscle memories, and runic formations could be deployed with textbook precision."

Jormungandr’s eyes widened, and they began to glow with excitement as he understood Vlad’s words. "Since everything the A.I. Chip analyzes becomes part of my memory and skills, I can use it to analyze spells and magic abilities, making my learning speed rise at a shocking pace!"

Vlad nodded to the small yellow cat’s analysis and continued. "That’s exactly right, and it’s not just books or skills that we can analyze; we can even analyze objects, treasures, and people."

[Beep! An unknown force is trying to scan the Host’s body! Use internal energy to hinder the invading force?]

Vlad almost burst into laughter as he heard the warning from the A.I. Chip and knew that Jormungandr was trying to use the chip to scan his body. Normally, he would never allow anyone to see his skills, but he and the small yellow cat had absolute trust.

Of course, since Vlad would allow Jormungandr to see his ability and power, he also wanted to see the stats of the small yellow cat. "A.I. Chip, scan this little scoundrel."

Just as Vlad’s A.I. Chip warned him about Jormungandr’s scanning, the small yellow cat also received a warning. However, he only smiled and allowed the scan.
