Chapter 663: Kun Peng Divine Armor (II)
When Janus and Agamenon heard Vlad’s decision, shock immediately appeared in their eyes, quickly followed by complicated expressions.
Although neither of them personally needed to buy armor due to the powerful equipment already provided by their families, that didn’t mean they hadn’t inspected the ones available at the Military Logistic Center. Naturally, the mighty Kun Peng Divine Armor had also caught their attention.
Despite its remarkable power and exceptional reputation, the Kun Peng Divine Armor was categorized as Legendary Tier equipment. Vlad, on the other hand, was only at the Sage level.
Typically, warriors—no matter how wealthy or privileged their backgrounds—did not choose Legendary equipment while still Sages. It wasn’t merely a matter of cost, but a practical limitation.
Legendary armor required a tremendous surge of energy to fully activate and properly bind with the user’s body. Without adequate energy to trigger this activation, even if the armor itself was indestructible, the shockwaves from enemy attacks could easily pass through it and severely injure or kill the cultivator inside.
Agamenon and Janus were aware that Vlad came from a minor world, so they naturally assumed he might be ignorant of this particular piece of cultivation knowledge. They exchanged hesitant glances, silently contemplating how best to explain the issue without embarrassing their friend. Before either of them could speak up, however, Oliver, the clerk, intervened calmly.
"A Legendary Armor won’t function properly on a Sage cultivator," Oliver explained in a neutral tone, neither mocking Vlad nor hiding his voice. "Your energy pool simply isn’t powerful enough to activate it fully, let alone sustain its protective effects."
Several people within the Logistics Center overheard the conversation, and many heads turned towards Vlad, their eyes subtly mocking, sneering, or filled with condescending amusement.
To these warriors, Vlad appeared to be nothing more than a countryside bumpkin—someone foolishly wasting wealth on equipment he couldn’t even properly wield.
Yet, instead of becoming embarrassed or angry, Vlad simply smiled with unwavering confidence, nodding calmly to Oliver. "Thank you for the reminder. However, I still want to purchase it."
Oliver observed Vlad thoughtfully for a moment, then nodded without further argument. The clerk had done his duty by warning Vlad. If the young man still chose to spend an extraordinary sum on something he couldn’t use effectively, that decision belonged entirely to him. "Very well, I’ll retrieve it for you right away," Oliver stated calmly, turning away to fulfill Vlad’s request.
As Oliver departed, Agamenon quietly leaned toward Vlad, voicing his concerns in a hushed tone. "Brother, are you truly certain about this? Even a Half-Step Legend cultivator’s energy pool would likely struggle to activate a Legendary armor fully—especially something as formidable as the Kun Peng Divine Armor."
Janus quickly added in support of his cousin’s words, his voice similarly discreet. "Cousin is right, Vlad. Without proper activation, an armor like that might offer even less protection than your current gear."
Vlad smiled at the duo, appreciating their genuine concern. He understood clearly their intentions were born from friendship, not criticism. Still, he merely shook his head with quiet confidence. "Don’t worry—I know exactly what I’m doing."
Agamenon and Janus exchanged another glance, each releasing a soft sigh of resignation. Although they still believed Vlad was making a serious mistake, it was ultimately his choice how to spend his own resources.
Soon afterward, Oliver returned, holding a cube approximately the size of a fist in his hand. He paused, gazing once more at Vlad with a neutral expression. "Are you absolutely certain about this transaction?"
Vlad met Oliver’s eyes, his resolve unwavering. "Yes, I am."
Without further hesitation, Oliver handed the cube over, and in that instant, a massive sum of credits was deducted from Vlad’s account.
The moment the transaction concluded, Vlad sensed many eyes within the Logistic Center fixated on him, awaiting a spectacle or perhaps hoping to see him humiliated.
A determined light flashed in Vlad’s eyes as he promptly withdrew his current armor into his space ring, leaving him briefly in ordinary clothing. He then focused on the cube, channeling his energy into it.
The cube glowed gently for a brief moment before disassembling itself into numerous intricate armor pieces that rapidly assembled themselves around Vlad’s body.
Within moments, the majestic Kun Peng Divine Armor fully enveloped Vlad’s form, its formidable and awe-inspiring appearance eliciting hushed gasps from the crowd.
Yet despite the armor’s intimidating exterior, it clearly remained inactive, resembling nothing more than an impressive sword locked within its sheath.
Vlad quickly realized his movements had become sluggish, his limbs feeling incredibly heavy—as if encased in solid stone. Instead of boosting his combat capabilities, the armor initially seemed more a burden than an asset.
Taking a deep breath, Vlad gathered all the energy within his energy pool and released it in an explosive surge. Immediately, the armor flashed briefly with a faint light, but moments later, it dimmed again.
Murmurs and subtle laughter quickly erupted from the crowd of cultivators nearby, their voices filled with condescension and mockery. Many had felt deep jealousy and envy earlier, witnessing Vlad’s extravagant purchase, so they eagerly seized the chance to ridicule him openly.
Yet Vlad ignored their contemptuous comments, maintaining his serene smile. He knew his Force energy, despite its formidable defensive qualities, was still insufficient to fully activate the Kun Peng Divine Armor. But his confidence wasn’t misplaced—he had something else.
Within his Soul Dimension, surrounding his Depravita Seed were powerful waves of dark aura. A unique, extraordinary power belonging solely to a Depravita.
"BOOM!"
A thunderous explosion echoed throughout the Logistic Center, instantly silencing every mocking voice and freezing every cultivator in their tracks.
Their eyes widened in shock and disbelief as they watched the previously dormant armor burst forth with brilliant radiance, fully activating and perfectly synchronizing with Vlad’s figure. In mere seconds, it flawlessly adapted, becoming one with his body and movements.
Demonstrating incredible fluidity and precision, Vlad began moving freely, effortlessly performing swift and flawless strikes as though he’d been wearing the armor for decades.
Witnessing this astonishing sight, even Agamenon and Janus struggled to hide their amazement. Both knew Vlad possessed numerous mysterious abilities, but never had they imagined he had access to an energy source capable of activating Legendary Tier equipment at his current cultivation level.
