Chapter 657: Space vs Gravity (II)
Although the wound Vlad inflicted on the Voroe Sage was undeniably impressive—particularly after being amplified by the power of the Mark of Cain—he still could not help but frown deeply.
Vlad had utilized the full strength of his Sundering Concept in that strike, a spatial power potent enough to sever Sage-level steel as if it were paper. By all logic, it should have easily sliced the Voroe’s arm cleanly off. There was no way flesh and bone could resist the immense power derived from the Law of Space.
The only reasonable explanation for why the attack had failed to completely sever the limb was that the Vorometallicae’s body had already been tempered by the power of Laws to an extraordinary degree, reaching a level far beyond the Sage tier.
"He is strong," Vlad thought gravely as his eyes sharpened intensely. His mind quickly blocked out everything else, zeroing in entirely on the enemy before him.
"THUMP!"
At that exact moment, Vlad’s heart burst into a powerful rhythm, rapidly filling his body and energy pool with a torrent of wrathful energy. This furious surge allowed him to sustain the immense consumption required by the Sphere of Spatial Domain.
Without his Legendary Bloodline Ability actively supporting him, Vlad knew his odds of defeating such a powerful Voroe Sage would drastically decrease.
The imposing Voroe Sage standing before Vlad was named Asur, and he was far from ordinary even among the elite Vorometallicae. Asur was a genuine Half-Step Legend. His powerful body had already transcended the Sage-tier boundary, pushing firmly into the legendary realm. However, his physical might was only one aspect of his strength.
Typically, Asur was deployed to extremely dangerous battlefields, often fighting in Legend-tier battlefields. He was entrusted with the critical role of leading elite Sage squads, driving directly into enemy formations.
When first assigned to this mission, hunting an unknown enemy in the Howling Chasm, Asur had been furious, believing the task was beneath his station.
Now, however, a cold, brutal smile crossed Asur’s features, showing his sharp, jagged teeth as excitement and anticipation surged through him.
"Hahaha, good! This is precisely the kind of battle I need to break my limits!" roared Asur, his deep voice echoing powerfully through the canyon as a colossal wave of energy exploded from his towering figure.
Immediately afterward, the unmistakable presence of Laws surged forth from Asur, saturating his surroundings. It was not the Law of Space, yet space itself twisted dramatically around the Voroe’s formidable form.
Vlad’s eyes narrowed instantly as he realized a terrifying truth. The Voroe didn’t merely possess gravity-related abilities—he had mastered the profound and devastating Law of Gravity itself!
The very air trembled and vibrated violently as the energy fields of the Depravita and the Voroe surged to unprecedented heights, clashing even before they made contact. Lightning crackled and thunder roared, resonating throughout the Howling Chasm as the two opponents charged at each other in a deadly collision.
Asur unleashed a powerful punch. It was not simply physical; Vlad instantly felt as if an unstoppable cosmic force was crashing toward him, intending to crush every single atom of his existence. Blocking such a devastating blow directly was impossible. Thankfully, Vlad had no intention of meeting it head-on.
Right as the Voroe’s punch was about to reach him, Vlad vanished from sight, teleporting instantaneously. Reappearing directly above Asur, he swiftly thrust his sword downward.
The blade radiated a powerful spatial force, clearly targeting the vulnerable spot along the Voroe’s spinal column. If he could just pierce slightly into Asur’s body, the devastating effect of the Mark of Cain would ensure catastrophic damage.
Unfortunately, Vlad had underestimated the unique physiology of the Vorometallicae. Just as the blade was about to reach its target, the razor-sharp stone spikes on Asur’s back suddenly expanded outward, shooting toward Vlad like deadly lances seeking to impale him.
"Damn it!" Vlad cursed inwardly. Caught off-guard, he was forced into another hurried Void Step at the last possible second.
It was so rushed and spontaneous that he managed to relocate only a meter behind Asur. From such a dangerously close distance, there was no way he could evade the powerful backward kick already surging toward him.
With no other choice, Vlad quickly raised his sword in front of his body, using it as a makeshift shield. The Voroe’s powerful kick slammed into him with devastating force, sending Vlad hurtling backward through the air until he smashed brutally into a canyon wall.
Asur wasted no time, not allowing Vlad even a moment to recover. Immediately, the Voroe Sage leaped towards the cloud of dust that covered Vlad’s position, his entire body surging violently with the destructive gravitational force of his Law. He descended like a meteor, ready to obliterate the spot where Vlad had landed.
However, just before Asur completed his devastating plunge, two blazing red eyes burned brightly within the dust cloud. In the next instant, a beam of fiery, wrathful energy erupted from the dust, catching Asur completely by surprise.
Reacting swiftly, Asur crossed his powerful arms defensively in front of his chest, absorbing the brunt of the laser-like beam. Yet the fierce attack was potent enough to blast him backward across the battlefield, embedding him into the opposite canyon wall.
Asur felt genuine shock. The burning energy beam had been fast, sudden, and shockingly powerful, leaving severe burns all across his heavily fortified body.
Indeed, Vlad’s Burning Eyes of Fury, further amplified by two waves of Depravita Aura, was a truly devastating force.
Before Asur could even begin to extract himself from the stone wall, Vlad had already teleported directly in front of him, slashing downwards fiercely toward his chest.
The Voroe Sage attempted to raise his arms to block, but another fiery beam from Vlad’s eyes struck directly into his face. Although slightly less powerful than before, this laser was still agonizing enough to distract and slow his movements briefly.
Seizing this momentary opening, Vlad’s sword sliced viciously across Asur’s torso, carving a deep, brutal gash from his right shoulder all the way down to his left waist.
Blood-like molten liquid poured forth from the grievous wound, dripping onto the ground below.
