Chapter 655: The power of the Law of Space

Marshal Maximo felt no resentment or grievance toward Vlad for having missed their previously scheduled engraving of the Darkness Devouring Runic Formation.

In the Marshal’s eyes, Vlad had already fulfilled more than his duty by providing the runic diagrams. Although the standard formation was slightly weaker than the one personally engraved by Vlad, it was sufficient to stabilize those severely afflicted warriors placed within the golden healing chamber.

In Maximo’s mind, if greater progress or more powerful runic formations were required, the responsibility now lay entirely on his own shoulders and those of his subordinate runemasters.

Vlad had already provided them with the essential tools, and further improvement was their task. If the young Depravita chose not to continue performing the specialized engravings himself, it would be perfectly understandable and entirely within his rights.

Instead of feeling aggrieved, Maximo only felt grateful that Vlad had returned at all.

Vlad saw these thoughts clearly reflected in the Marshal’s expression and couldn’t help but smile warmly, feeling an ever-deepening appreciation and respect for the man before him.

"Let’s go," Vlad said calmly, breaking the comfortable silence. Marshal Maximo smiled back in response, quickly leading Vlad into the chamber.

Inside, Maximo carefully removed one of the injured warriors from a healing pod and gently placed him on the table before Vlad. Without hesitation, Vlad began engraving the enhanced Darkness Devouring Runic Formation, carefully extracting a substantial amount of chaotic energy that had embedded deeply within the warrior’s lungs.

Marshal Maximo’s expression gradually brightened with delight as he observed the rapid improvement in the soldier’s condition. He gently placed the recovering warrior back into his healing pod, visibly pleased by the results.

However, just as Maximo was preparing to conclude their session, Vlad suddenly spoke up again.

"Thanks to my advancement into the Sage Tier, I can now perform three enhanced Darkness Devouring Runic Formations per day. Choose two more individuals."

Marshal Maximo’s eyes widened momentarily in surprise at this unexpected revelation. The sudden improvement in Vlad’s capabilities was indeed remarkable.

There might even have been a lingering suspicion that Vlad could have performed multiple engravings earlier but had held back; however, Marshal Maximo quickly dismissed such unnecessary speculation. In his heart, he was simply happy that Vlad was willing and able to help even more of his soldiers.

The Marshal promptly nodded, swiftly selecting two more critically injured warriors for Vlad to assist.

Vlad focused intently, pouring all three waves of his Depravita Aura into the intricate and exhausting engraving process. It was a substantial effort, but thanks to his elevated cultivation level, Vlad’s stamina and energy pool were finally robust enough to handle the increased demand.

"Finished," Vlad said quietly, wiping the sweat from his brow after completing the demanding process.

Marshal Maximo laughed heartily, his satisfaction evident. "Hahaha! Excellent job! Truly, thank you very much, young man."

After carefully placing these newly healed warriors back into their healing pods, Marshal Maximo warmly escorted Vlad from the castle.

"Come back whenever you wish, Vlad. These gates will always be open to you," Maximo said sincerely, a strong sense of camaraderie shining through his words.

The two men exchanged respectful nods before Vlad departed back toward his residence.

Onlookers nearby might have assumed Vlad returned directly home, but in truth, the figure they saw was merely an afterimage cleverly generated using Vlad’s newfound understanding of the Law of Space.

In reality, Vlad stealthily moved toward the exit of the Golden Sky Fortress, concealed within the majestic armor forged by Jormungandr. Originally black, the armor had transformed, changing both in color and style to further obscure Vlad’s identity completely. The armor covered every inch of his body, making him impossible to recognize.

Though this level of secrecy and caution was inconvenient, Vlad understood its necessity. It was impossible to predict where spies or agents from the Zanis Association might lurk.

Even after all his recent breakthroughs and advancements, Vlad was not confident enough to confront a true Legend directly, so remaining hidden was imperative for his continued survival.

In little time, Vlad successfully left the Golden Sky Fortress behind, making his way swiftly toward the old, familiar battlefield known as the Howling Chasm.

Vlad selected this location carefully. It was familiar terrain, and in the unlikely event a powerful enemy tracked him, the special properties of the battlefield would immediately alert him of any approach. The strange, perceptual interference that permeated the Chasm would also grant Vlad ample opportunity to escape should the situation require it.

Upon reaching the labyrinthine canyons of the Howling Chasm, Vlad’s senses sharpened immediately. Drawing his sword, he activated his A.I. Chip, quickly forming a precise virtual map of his surroundings. In moments, Vlad identified a hostile presence nearby—a Vorometallicae warrior.

The Voroe stood over four meters tall, resembling a massive cyclops forged entirely from golden ore. His metallic right hand tightly gripped a giant club, and the deep cracks and fissures he left on the rocky ground revealed his immense weight and strength.

Vlad did not bother concealing his presence, swiftly approaching the warrior until the cyclops turned sharply to face him, his single eye glowing coldly with bloodlust.

Fresh blood still dripped from the cyclops’ weapon, alongside shredded remnants of human flesh, marking its recent kill.

The cyclops stared at Vlad with malicious anticipation, roaring confidently, "Hahaha! Another prey comes willingly to die!"

The enormous Voroe’s energy surged violently, causing an oppressive and sundering force to ripple through the air.

Vlad, however, showed no fear or hesitation. He calmly extended his hand, instantly summoning a dazzling sky-blue sphere—the powerful Sphere of Spatial Domain—expanding it swiftly to cover a three-hundred-meter radius around them.

Immediately after, radiant crystalline energy surged from within Vlad’s flesh as he invoked his Void Flesh skill, enhancing his affinity with spatial energies. Simultaneously, a mantle of absolute darkness flowed over him, transforming Vlad into something akin to a human-shaped black hole—this was his Sage Ability, Astral Singularity Body.

The cyclops’ arrogant confidence vanished immediately upon witnessing this astonishing transformation. An overwhelming pressure radiated from Vlad, saturated with the profound mysteries of space itself. Fear flickered in the Voroe’s solitary eye.

"I need to escape—"

This panicked thought was the last thing to cross the cyclops’ mind. Before it could even move, a thin, invisible line appeared through its neck. A fraction of a second later, its head separated cleanly from its massive shoulders, tumbling silently onto the ground.
