Chapter 406: Divine Leviathan (I)

The Xoas Forces and Turkin riders, ready to march and fight until the last drop of energy and blood in their bodies, froze in place. They were not alone in their sudden stillness; even the swarm of Leviathans, creatures that knew no fear and that fought with suicidal might, halted their relentless advance. The overwhelming shock that such an explosion caused in both parties held them captive. As they focused on its origin, all eyes turned toward the heart of Kuro Mountain—the volcano itself.

A massive pillar of dark and obscure red energy erupted from within the fiery depths. It towered into the sky, a vortex that seemed to embody all the sins of the world. Yet, despite the dark and malevolent nature of its origin, there was no evil within. The swirling energies were under perfect control, achieving a flawless balance that spoke of immense power harnessed with absolute precision.

The Xaos Forces, Turkin riders, and even the millions of eyes of the Leviathans that formed the hive mind gazed upon the pillar in awe and trepidation. As they watched, a figure began to ascend within the column of energy—a young man rising from the volcano’s core. His presence was both commanding and otherworldly, drawing the attention of every being on the battlefield.

Freya, Anglius, Ouroboros, and the Royal Guards gazed at the ascending figure, their expressions a mix of awe and shock. Of course, the young man rising from the pillar was no other than Vlad, but there had been massive changes to the Xaos King.

His once jet-black hair had turned completely white. The eyes that had been pools of absolute darkness before his evolution now held red irises that glowed with overwhelming power and energy. His body had grown to an imposing height of three meters, his muscles adapting flawlessly to his new frame. An overwhelming physical power emanated from his flesh and blood, along with immense vitality, and waves of dark aura spread across his body from time to time—a manifestation of the massive change occurring within his energy pool.

Vlad’s figure rose through the pillar of dark energy until he stood hundreds of meters above the volcano’s zenith. Even as the pillar faded, he remained suspended in the air, floating effortlessly. Considering all the abilities and power the young man had displayed in the past, the ability to fly might not have seemed particularly impressive.

At least, that was what one might normally think. Yet, Freya’s eyes widened with awe and wonder. The reason for the shock in the young Viking princess was that Vlad was not flying due to the use of spells or wings but because of the power held inside his energy pool. In essence, the power of his energy was so immense and pure that it began to generate its own gravitational field, allowing the young man to defy gravity itself.

She could tell that Vlad’s level had yet to reach Level 16, so for him to be able to fly, it must mean his Life Level had risen beyond the Guardian Tier.

"Sage..." the young woman could not help but utter the word softly.

Sages were considered the peak in many small worlds, able to decipher the principles of the universe and harness powers that ordinary mortals could not even dream of. They were only one step below Legends and were considered to be living weapons of mass destruction. If a Level 15 Warrior with a Guardian Tier Life Level and a Level 15 Warrior with a Sage Tier Life Level were to clash, there was no doubt that the second would crush the first ten times out of ten. It was not just physical might but also access to all sorts of genetic and bloodline abilities.

Silence reigned among all human forces. Even if they did not have the knowledge of the Viking princess, they were wise enough to understand that the Xaos King had grown much, much more powerful. A supernatural aura surrounded his presence, making him seem like a divine demonic deity.

Vlad gazed at the human forces beneath him, his eyes sharp as he took in the sight. There were many missing from the time he first arrived at Kuro Mountain, and a coldness soon arose in the Depravita of Wrath’s eyes. His gaze then turned toward the swarm of Leviathans, his focus sharpening as he locked onto the Special Unit Leviathan—the strongest among them.

The Depravita of Wrath’s red irises glowed with increasing intensity until suddenly, a laser beam emerged from them. The beam flashed so fast that the Special Unit Leviathan barely had time to raise its arms before the attack landed.

"BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!" The force of the blast sent the Special Unit hurtling across Kuro Mountain, crashing violently into the base with an earth-shaking impact.

The human forces were stunned as they witnessed the attack. Even those who were exceptionally powerful, like Freya and Ouroboros, could barely hide their shock at such formidable power. The Special Unit Leviathan was the strongest warrior among the swarm on the mountain, yet a single beam from Vlad’s eyes had sent it flying like a ragdoll.

And things were far from over. The next second, Vlad raised his right hand, and the wisps of dark aura that coursed through his body converged into his palm. He began to generate a gravitational force that stirred the magma from the volcano beneath him. Under the stunned sight of humans and Leviathans, a massive sphere of magma—more than forty meters in diameter—soon appeared above the Depravita of Wrath’s hand. Its heat and power exploded the next moment as demonic flames ignited inside, swirling chaotically within the molten mass.

This time, even Freya was surprised. What Vlad had just triggered was clearly a spell. However, even if one were a Warrior with a Sage Tier Life Level, it did not mean they could use spells that belonged to Mages. That only showed just how unique a Depravita was, as their power surpassed the comprehension of even those from higher civilizations.
