Chapter 331: Overlord’s analysis

"Yes, Lord Jormungandr. We have placed enough communication towers to establish our network throughout the entire Turkin Kingdom. We are awaiting new components to expand implementation along the border," Grand Marshal Anglius responded promptly, his voice firm and precise.

The small yellow cat nodded to the golden giant before turning toward Freya and the others. "I’ll go and speak with Overlord. Take the rest of the day to rest. We are safe here," he said reassuringly.

As he finished speaking, Jormungandr paused for a moment, a fleeting shadow crossing his eyes. He kept certain thoughts to himself. ’We are safe for the time being,’ he mused silently, his gaze drifting toward the distant horizon. Even for him, the terror of the hive was staggering, and it was not easy to reconcile the unease in his mind.

With that thought lingering, he moved toward a secluded area, away from the bustle of the camp. Finding a quiet spot, he settled himself on a flat rock overlooking the encampment. Closing his eyes briefly, he took a deep breath, calming his mind before activating his A.I. Chip.

Utilizing the frequencies established by the communication towers, he initiated contact with Overlord. "Overlord, I’m sending you some videos. I want you to analyze the threat we are currently facing," Jormungandr conveyed without preamble.

He knew that Overlord’s military logistics capabilities far exceeded his own. Rather than spend hours attempting to assess the state of every front in the Xaos Kingdom’s army, the small yellow cat immediately provided the A.I. Chip Clone with all the necessary information. Data flowed from Jormungandr’s A.I. Chip, transmitting detailed battle footage, strategic maps, and tactical analyses.

Back in the underground levels of the massive Xaos Tower, the energy pool containing Overlord’s core code began processing the influx of information. The luminescent pool pulsed and shimmered, the radiation intensifying as the A.I. delved deeper into the data. Overlord did not experience emotions like fear or anxiety, but as it observed the capabilities of the hive, the complexity of its calculations escalated to a level that would overwhelm most beings.

The A.I. Chip Clone tirelessly worked to devise plans and strategies to counter the hive’s threat. However, it became evident that the situation was more precarious than anticipated. After nearly a minute of intensive computation, Overlord’s voice resonated in Jormungandr’s mind.

"I understand the magnitude of the threat we are facing," Overlord stated. "Based on your analysis, how likely is it that the Turkin soldiers will fight to the death if necessary?"

Overlord’s voice was measured and analytical, yet there was an unmistakable coldness—a pragmatism that revealed he regarded the Turkin soldiers merely as expendable assets. Jormungandr couldn’t help but offer a wry smile, fully aware of how Overlord perceived those outside the Xaos Kingdom.

’He protects our citizens because it’s his core directive,’ Jormungandr thought. ’But everyone else is just a means to an end.’

After battling for days and shedding blood with the Turkin soldiers, it didn’t sit well with the small yellow cat to consider them as disposable pawns. Yet, there was nothing he could do to alter the prime directives of Overlord.

There was no time to dwell on those thoughts, and with a sigh, Jormungandr replied, "Their king will do everything in his power to protect his kingdom and his people. The Turkin soldiers are loyal and will stand their ground."

There was a brief pause before Overlord’s voice echoed again. "I will redirect the Champion Tier Demon Cage Runic Formations and Champion-level demon souls to the south. I will also send Echo Bombs and new artifacts necessary to reinforce the border. Expansion efforts in the east and west will have to slow down temporarily."

Jormungandr nodded silently, understanding the gravity of reallocating such resources. Although he technically had the authority to command the A.I. Chip Clone, he wasn’t naïve enough to think that Overlord wouldn’t find ways to bypass his commands if it deemed another course of action more beneficial for the Xaos Kingdom. That was why the small yellow cat was careful with his words, never trying to force things.

Overlord processed the situation briefly before continuing, "I require more information regarding the hive. I assume Prime Master is in the process of obtaining it?"

"That’s correct," Jormungandr confirmed. "According to my calculations, Boss should already be approaching the center of the hive. When he returns, we’ll have more detailed intelligence."

The small yellow cat and the A.I. Chip Clone continued their discussion, delving into strategies and contingency plans. They debated troop deployments, defensive formations, and potential countermeasures against the hive’s adaptive tactics.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the sky in hues of crimson and gold, Jormungandr concluded the conversation. "I’ll keep you updated with any new developments," he said.

"Understood," Overlord replied. "Maintain communication."

Disconnecting the link, Jormungandr sat silently for a moment, the weight of responsibility heavy on his shoulders. Millions of lives depended on him, and it was not an easy burden to bear.

He stood up and made his way back toward the encampment. Along the way, he observed the Turkin soldiers diligently undergoing the transformation into Demon Soul Masters. Their faces bore expressions of determination mixed with apprehension as they sealed demon souls within their hearts, gaining newfound powers.

General Mark supervised the entire process, ensuring that not a single soldier deviated from the commands. The old man understood the danger for the kingdom and would not permit fear to breed weakness.

Freya approached Jormungandr, her gaze sharp as she watched the soldiers. "They’re adapting quickly, but I wonder how they’ll react when faced with the true horror of the hive."

Jormungandr’s eyes mirrored her concern but were filled with confidence. "They are strong, and they have a cause worth fighting for. We all do."

Nearby, Viserin was addressing his troops, his voice steady and commanding as it echoed through the camp. "We face a formidable enemy, but we are not without strength!" he declared. "With our new powers and the support of our allies, we will protect our homeland!"

Jormungandr and Freya nodded as they watched the Turkin King bolster his soldiers’ morale. Together, they made their way to the Golden Wave Legion, knowing there was still much to prepare for in the battles ahead.
