Chapter 310: Divine Avatar’s plot (II)

"Disgusting monkeys! You will pay for this!" one of the angels spat, his eyes blazing with hatred.

"We won’t tell you anything!" another snarled, straining against the lightning chains.

"You will be punished!" the third hissed, contempt dripping from his words.

Before the questions could even begin, the angels erupted into a chorus of rage and insult. Their xenophobia and disdain were palpable, each word laced with venom. It was clear they would rather die than cooperate.

Vlad remained unfazed by their outbursts. He glanced at Jormungandr and gave a subtle nod.

The small yellow cat stepped forward, his black eyes igniting with devilish flames as he focused on the High Champion angel. The air grew heavy with a sinister energy. The angel’s bravado faltered as he locked eyes with Jormungandr.

Suddenly, the angel’s eyes widened in terror. An invisible force assaulted his mind, delving into the depths of his soul. The other angels watched in horror as their comrade began to tremble uncontrollably.

"Stay strong! Don’t give in!" they shouted, desperation creeping into their voices.

But their words fell on deaf ears. The High Champion angel’s face contorted in fear, beads of sweat mingling with the blood trickling from his nose, eyes, and ears. After a few agonizing minutes, his body convulsed violently before collapsing to the ground.

A stream of Origin Force rose from his lifeless form, flowing into Freya. Although Jormungandr had delivered the final blow, the Plane Will recognized Freya as the one who had defeated and incapacitated him in combat.

Jormungandr showed no concern for the Origin Force. Turning to Vlad, a solemn expression crossed his face. "I had to push Nightmare Weaver to its limit to break his defenses. It shattered his soul, but I got what we needed. They were on a mission from a god of Heaven, aiming to awaken his Divine Avatar inside Terra."

Vlad could not help but frown as he heard those words, and he was not alone; Freya, Ouroboros, and the Royal Guards adopted solemn expressions. Anything that had to do with gods was troublesome, and while they had already defeated one in the war against the Azarin Empire, it had taken a lot of effort.

Vlad contemplated the words before signaling for Jormungandr to continue with the interrogation. They had to corroborate the information from the High Champion, which was why they had kept the other three angels alive.

Jormungandr nodded and turned to the angels, who looked at him with horror. The small yellow cat showed no mercy as his eyes glowed with devilish flames. One by one, they trembled as their minds fell to the power of Nightmare Weaver, their minds breaking as they revealed all they knew before perishing.

"Everyone says the same. There is no doubt now. The orb contained a piece of the god’s divinity, and they were using souls to nurture it in order to give birth to the Divine Avatar," Jormungandr said solemnly, recognizing that the powers being used were incredibly high-level.

Vlad nodded, taking a deep breath as he analyzed the information. "Let’s return to Xaos City. I need to use the power of the tower to do some experiments."

After uttering those words, Vlad took Aola’s body from his space ring and handed it to Ouroboros. "Go ahead."

The Depravita of Greed flashed a vicious smile, showing no hesitation as he began consuming the woman’s body, using her flesh and energy to grow stronger. It didn’t take long for Ouroboros to finish with Aola, and soon, his eyes turned to the corpses spread across the battlefield, intending to do the same with them.

Ouroboros wasn’t the only one with plans for the bodies. Freya collected the corpses of the two High Champion angels she had defeated and moved to the side with them. She was ready to perform a sacrifice to the Primordial God of Bloodshed and Battle, Odinvaldr, to enhance her Totemic Path of Power.

Vlad and the others moved aside, resting as the Depravita of Greed and the viking princess did their work. Of course, Vlad did not remain idle. He activated the power of his A.I. Chip to scan the small yellow cat.

It didn’t take long for the robotic voice of the A.I. Chip to echo in his mind, and the next second, a virtual screen appeared with the data on Jormungandr:

The speed of his growth was impressive, especially since he always focused his Origin Force on his soul force, Depravita Sky, or his body.

Afterward, Vlad turned his attention to Freya, who had just finished her sacrifice. The energy from the corpses now fed her totems. Vlad sent the power of the A.I. Chip toward her, and within seconds, the robotic voice echoed in his mind once more:

After finishing with Freya, Vlad turned the power of the A.I. Chip to the newest Depravita, Ouroboros, who had just finished consuming the corpses of over forty angels.
