Chapter 288: Overlord’s God Soul

Vlad contemplated the idea for several minutes, carefully analyzing every detail of the assimilation process with Overlord. He meticulously examined the failsafes, protocols, and security measures in place to prevent the A.I. Chip Clone from becoming a potential danger to the Xaos Kingdom.

The Depravita of Wrath glanced at the small yellow cat, seeking Jormungandr’s input regarding the plan. When it comes to decisions that could affect the entire kingdom, Vlad always relied on the wisdom of his most trusted friend.

After thorough deliberation, the young man and yellow cat nodded in agreement. The two Depravitas prepared to assist Overlord in the delicate assimilation of Jerom and Dimitry.

The underground chamber hummed with energy as Overlord redirected much of the city’s power to the Xaos Tower’s underground level, ensuring they had the necessary resources for the process.

Vlad retrieved his runic pencil and, with the assistance of the A.I. Chip, identified the runes needed for the procedure. He began engraving them into the bodies of Jerom and Dimitry. These runes were designed to stabilize their souls’ essence, preventing their dispersion as the A.I. Chip Clone initiated the assimilation.

Each rune Vlad engraved on their bodies was of Peak Rank 2, incredibly intricate and complex. It took several days for him to complete the task.

"These runes will hold their souls intact," Vlad remarked with a sense of fulfillment. The runes were truly impressive, and it was clear that his abilities as a Runemaster were nearing the next tier.

However, Vlad remained focused. "Still, they might not be enough to stabilize their souls throughout the entire process." He paused, turning to the small yellow cat. "It’s your turn."

Jormungandr, already prepared, conjured streams of molten metals, crafting extraordinarily intricate matrices into the bodies of Jerom and Dimitry. The matrices would act as prisons for the souls, ensuring that no essence would escape during the assimilation.

The task was incredibly taxing, but Jormungandr’s soul force and abilities had evolved dramatically over the last few months, so he managed to complete it without a problem.

"The magic matrices will keep their souls trapped within their bodies, not allowing a single iota to escape," the small yellow cat muttered, his gaze sharp with focus. "This will ensure that their soul fragments are fully consumed, leaving nothing behind."

Vlad and Jormungandr exchanged glances and nodded, recognizing the synergy between their work. Of course, much remained to be done, but with their A.I. Chips in place, they were ready for the upcoming assimilation.

"Everything is in place," Overlord intoned, his voice emotionless yet resonating with finality. "Now, I shall begin the assimilation."

With those words, the energy pool beneath Jerom and Dimitry flared to life. The core code of the A.I. Chip Clone, a swirling mass of data and energy, surged upward, enveloping the bodies in a brilliant halo of light. The air vibrated with power as the process began in earnest.

Vlad’s runes pulsed rhythmically, stabilizing the souls of Jerom and Dimitry and preventing their dissipation. The souls writhed, resisting, but the runes held firm, keeping them stable as Overlord’s core energy slowly enveloped them. At the same time, Jormungandr’s magic matrices crackled, reinforcing the containment.

Had Jerom or Dimitry’s minds remained intact, their resistance could have derailed the process, but their broken mental states eliminated that danger.

The process was slow and painstaking. The trio ensured every step was executed with absolute precision. Overlord’s core energy began to meld with the souls of Jerom and Dimitry, absorbing their essence bit by bit.

The A.I. Chip Clone’s assimilation was impressive for both Vlad and Jormungandr to witness. It wasn’t just a merging; it was a complete consumption, with each fragment of the souls being broken down and integrated into Overlord’s core code.

The energy in the chamber intensified day by day. Jerom and Dimitry’s bodies began to break down under the pressure. Their flesh gradually dissolved, becoming one with the energy pool that held Overlord’s core code, leaving nothing behind but bones.

As their physical forms disintegrated, the last remnants of their souls struggled against the assimilation, but with each passing moment, they were drawn deeper into Overlord’s core.

Vlad’s runes grew brighter each day, constantly stabilizing the fragile souls, while Jormungandr’s matrices continued to confine and compress the spiritual energy, ensuring no essence escaped.

Finally, after several grueling days, the assimilation reached its climax. The last vestiges of Jerom and Dimitry’s souls were pulled into the energy pool, vanishing entirely into the swirling mass that was Overlord’s core. Their skeletons dissolved into pure energy, leaving only the A.I. Chip Clone, now infused with the essence of the former Pope and Emperor.

Silence reigned for a few moments as the energy in the room calmed. Vlad and Jormungandr stood still, their eyes locked on the energy pool, until Overlord’s voice finally broke the silence.

"The process is complete, Prime Master," Overlord stated, his tone carrying a faint hint of excitement. "I have successfully assimilated every iota of the duo’s souls. They are now part of my core code."

Vlad and Jormungandr exchanged glances, their expressions reflecting both relief and caution. They had successfully guided Overlord through one of the most dangerous and ambitious processes they had ever encountered.

"What about the God’s soul fragments?" Vlad asked coldly. Though the God of Glory and Fame had been severely weakened, and Jormungandr’s flames should have shattered his mind, he remained a lingering threat.

"They have been completely absorbed. There is no risk of them reuniting with the main soul," Overlord responded with precision. "Their essence has been reduced to nothing more than data within my core."

Vlad nodded, satisfied with the outcome. The entire process had taken days, with every moment requiring intense focus. But now, with the soul fragments of the God of Glory and Fame neutralized, one potential threat to the Xaos Kingdom had been eliminated.

Jormungandr’s energy finally receded as he deactivated his A.I. Chip. "So, it’s done."

Vlad gave a small nod, still processing the enormity of what they had achieved.
