Chapter 279: Vlad vs Lamorto (I)

The soldiers of the Xaos Kingdom were vastly more powerful than the demonic beasts, but the sheer difference in numbers was staggering. A direct clash on open ground would likely result in a massacre, with the Xaos soldiers overwhelmed by the relentless tide of demons. The horde was too vast, too numerous. However, just as the two forces were about to collide in a violent melee, a figure leaped forward from within the ranks of the Xaos soldiers.

The individual was small, almost insignificant compared to the hulking soldiers around him. Yet, the energy radiating from this figure was overwhelming, like a power plant capable of sustaining dozens of small towns. Electric arcs crackled around his body as he stood defiantly before the charging demonic beasts.

The Abyssal demon narrowed his gaze, scrutinizing the strange being that had just appeared out of nowhere suspicion. "Is that... a cat?" he murmured, disbelief coloring his tone. How could a house pet appear on such a battlefield?

But before Lamorto could process the absurdity, the cat’s energy exploded outward. Lightning engulfed his form, turning him into a beacon of raw elemental power. In an instant, the small yellow cat opened his mouth and, with a voice that seemed to shake the very air, roared, "Lightning Tsunami!"

The sky darkened as a colossal wave of lightning surged from the cat’s mouth, expanding with unimaginable speed. The destruction it carried was overwhelming.

A wall of electrifying devastation rose from the earth, towering high into the air. It raced forward like a tidal wave of pure lightning. The advancing avalanche of demonic beasts didn’t stand a chance; the first wave of demons was vaporized instantly, their monstrous forms reduced to ash as the lightning consumed them entirely.

Jormungandr smiled coldly as he watched thousands of demons disintegrate under the might of his attack. He had been charging the spell for several minutes, waiting for the perfect moment, and now that it had struck, the devastation was absolute.

An ocean of Origin Force surged into Jormungandr’s body, flooding his Soul Dimension as the Plane Will rewarded him for slaughtering the alien invaders.

However, the Lightning Tsunami didn’t just end with its wave of destruction. Its electric charge continued to sweep across the battlefield, spreading in all directions. Arcs of electricity leaped from one beast to the next, paralyzing and stunning those who survived the initial blast. Their momentum came to a complete halt.

Lamorto’s eyes widened in shock as he witnessed the havoc wreaked by this seemingly insignificant creature. "That attack... it’s on the level of a High Champion’s peak spell," he muttered, disbelief lacing his voice. Not only had he lost thousands of demons in mere seconds, but the lightning had also disrupted the horde’s advance, leaving them immobilized and vulnerable.

The Xaos soldiers wasted no time. With ruthless efficiency, they charged into the surviving demons, their weapons gleaming as they cut down their enemies. Every swing of their blades, every spell they cast, claimed a life.

The soldiers’ disciplined formation allowed them to press their advantage. They cut down demon after demon with precise, deadly strikes. The battlefield was a scene of carnage, demons falling by the hundreds with each passing second.

For a brief moment, Lamorto’s mind froze, stunned by the coordination and power of the enemy. How could mere humans possess such strength and unity?

The Abyssal’s demonic instincts screamed at him, pushing him back into action. His rage surged anew, and he roared to the dozens of demon Champions who had remained by his side at the rear of the horde.

"Attack now! We must break through! Jorkan, lead your forces..."

But before the Abyssal could finish his command, something else caught his attention. Thousands of powerful auras descended onto the battlefield from the fractured mountains above.

Half of these warriors wore gleaming armor, while the other half donned tribal clothing, their bodies adorned with intricate tattoos. Each one radiated immense power as they descended the mountains with lightning speed, launching a devastating pincer attack on the horde. The pace of the slaughter dramatically increased.

Every second, more demons fell to the onslaught of the human forces. The relentless pressure on Lamorto’s army mounted faster than he could comprehend. His mind reeled. "What... what have we walked into?" he muttered, disbelief heavy in his voice.

Before he could gather his thoughts, an overwhelming sense of danger gripped him. His instincts screamed, and his gaze snapped upward just in time to see a flaming figure rise into the sky, arcs of lightning crackling around its form. The figure’s explosive aura was unmistakable—it was preparing to crash down directly toward him and the Champions standing nearby.

Lamorto’s heart raced as he felt the sheer killing intent radiating from the descending figure. He knew immediately that the impact would be devastating, powerful enough to eradicate several of the Champions at his side. Rage and desperation consumed him, and he screamed in manic fury, "Enough!"

With a surge of raw energy, Lamorto unleashed his full power. His aura exploded outward like a shockwave, shaking the very earth beneath him. He launched himself into the sky in a single, titanic leap, aiming to intercept the flaming comet hurtling toward him.

"BOOOOOOOOOOM!"

A massive explosion erupted in the sky as the two forces collided, lightning and fire crashing against demonic energy. The shockwave rippled outward, shaking the battlefield and leaving both soldiers and demons momentarily stunned.

The energy of the clash grew more and more intense until, finally, both figures were blasted away, crashing into opposing mountains hundreds of meters apart.

Lamorto immediately rose from the crater left by his impact, his eyes filled with murderous fury. His right arm was scorched, the flesh charred from the explosive clash.

Gritting his teeth and ignoring the pain, the Abyssal demon’s gaze locked onto the figure responsible for his injury. Standing tall, clad in obsidian armor, surrounded by a mantle of red lightning, the man wielded a massive bastard sword that gleamed with demonic fire.
