Chapter 272: Depravita vs God (VI)
Vlad’s eyes were sharp as he gazed at Goddess Lucia—more precisely, at the new personality now in control of the body. This presence exuded a powerful will and coldness that did not waver before Vlad’s raging intensity.
With a chilling focus, Vlad demanded, "Who are you?" Meanwhile, he activated the A.I. Chip to scan the entity before him, seeking any data that might provide an advantage or clarify the situation.
The entity possessing Goddess Lucia’s body paused for a moment, his gaze piercing as he analyzed Vlad. Then, he spoke, his voice dripping with arrogance and carrying an ancient authority that seemed to have looked down upon the world for hundreds of thousands of years. "I am the God of Glory and Fame, and you should bow before me, mortal."
Vlad’s eyes narrowed at those words. The manner in which the entity referred to itself—hiding his name and instead proclaiming a title—was exactly how a true god would introduce themselves.
Gods did not use names when addressing mortals; they declared their titles, believing that ordinary people were unworthy of uttering their divine names. Moreover, stating their domain was crucial, as it was the very essence of their power.
The title "God of Glory and Fame" resonated with a dangerous authority, and Vlad knew he was no longer dealing with the cowardly impostor who had crumbled under his wrath just moments ago.
He was facing something far more formidable. Whether this person was a god or just some ancient entity disguising itself as one was impossible to say, but one thing was sure.
He was dangerous.
Vlad’s voice was cold, and a small smile appeared as he responded. "I don’t know if you’re truly a god or just another trickster, but I guess it doesn’t matter."
Without wasting another second, Vlad surged forward, his flaming sword hacking down with immense power, intent on finishing this once and for all. But this time, the Depravita of Wrath was met with a counter strike from an opponent who wielded martial skill that transcended mortal limits and controlled Divine Power with flawless precision.
The God of Glory and Fame cloaked his arms in dense golden energy that seemed to fuse with his skin and muscles as he dashed forward as well, killing intent and coldness radiating from every inch of his body.
"¡BOOOOOM!"
The two clashed, and the shockwave from their collision rippled through the air, distorting the air around them. Vlad’s sword, blazing with flames and crackling with red lightning, met the golden hand of the God of Glory and Fame. The impact was deafening, and its force sent tremors through the sky.
Vlad immediately followed up with a series of rapid strikes, his sword moving with a speed that left afterimages, each blow aimed to overwhelm the god.
The God of Glory and Fame met each attack with equal ferocity, countering with swift, decisive movements that demonstrated an unparalleled mastery of combat. Every strike with his golden hands was precise, every movement calculated to exploit even the smallest opening in Vlad’s defense.
The battle became a blur of motion, the Depravita of Wrath’s sword and the God of Glory and Fame’s arms moving at supersonic speed in the sky.
Vlad unleashed a flurry of slashes, each one more powerful than the last, while the god countered with divine techniques that flawlessly channeled his Divine Power. The air around them crackled with energy, the power of their blows sending arcs of lightning and bursts of golden light in all directions.
At one point, Vlad feinted an attack on the god’s left side, only to twist his body mid-strike, aiming for the right. That attack would have easily killed Goddess Lucia, and even an Abyssal would have fallen for it.
However, the God of Glory and Fame anticipated the maneuver, his divine hands meeting Vlad’s sword with a clash that sent sparks flying. The god retaliated with a sweeping strike, his right hand forming a blade that nearly cleaved Vlad in two, but the Depravita of Wrath twisted just in time, the edge of the blade grazing his helmet.
Yet the danger was not over. While the God of Glory and Fame’s right hand acted as a blade, the palm of his left hand opened, and a massive amount of golden energy shot from it.
The attack came point-blank, with no indication until the last second, as the God of Glory and Fame covered it flawlessly. Luckily for Vlad, the A.I. Chip warned him of the immense energy discharge.
Vlad’s flaming wings flared, propelling him backward just in time to avoid the blast of concentrated divine energy that exploded from the god’s outstretched hand. The force of the explosion ripped through the air, but Vlad was already moving, his sword arcing toward the god in a deadly overhead strike.
The God of Glory and Fame’s eyes widened, a flash of shock crossing through them as he saw Vlad dodge his attack and counter with a deadly blow. However, the god quickly focused and blocked the attack with one arm, the divine energy around him forming a protective barrier that absorbed the brunt of the blow.
The skill of the God of Glory and Fame didn’t deter Vlad. The Depravita of Wrath pressed on, his attacks becoming more relentless, each strike fueled by the full force of his rage. But for every powerful blow he delivered, the god responded with an equally devastating counterattack.
The soldiers on the ground saw how the two powerful masters clashed repeatedly, their movements so fast and fluid that they seemed to blur together. The sheer force of their battle ripped through the sky.
The God of Glory and Fame launched a sweeping horizontal slash with his right hand, aiming to bisect Vlad, but Vlad ducked under the attack, his sword coming up in a brutal uppercut that aimed to tear through the golden armor of the god.
Unfortunately for Vlad, the skill of the God of Glory and Fame was superb, allowing him to dodge the rising sword by twisting his body at an impossible angle. Before Vlad could press his advantage, the god unleashed a wave of divine energy that sent him reeling backward.
Vlad recovered quickly, his eyes blazing with fury. He shot forward again, his sword raised high, his instincts and guard heightened at every moment, ready to act. In this short amount of time, the God of Glory and Fame had proven to be an extremely dangerous and tricky opponent.
Each exchange of blows grew more dangerous and intense. The god’s domain and divine power were vast, but Vlad’s rage enhanced his powers to an overwhelming level, and his determination to end this once and for all pushed him to his limits.
The Depravita of Wrath and the God of Glory and Fame were locked in a deadly struggle, neither willing to give an inch.
Vlad’s eyes burned with determination, but a hidden sense of urgency lay beneath that fierce resolve. The Heart of Wrath had granted him the power to face a Level 16 Guardian, but it had come at a grave cost to his vitality. Time was running out, and soon, his body would succumb to total organ shutdown. He had to end this battle quickly or risk perishing.
A steely resolve settled on Vlad’s face as he made a split-second decision. His energy surged, exploding outward in a massive arc of red fire and lightning that tore through the sky toward the God of Glory and Fame. The arc crackled with raw power, but Vlad knew it wasn’t enough to truly harm his opponent.
The God of Glory and Fame frowned as he observed the attack. It was large and visually impressive, but he could sense that it lacked the depth of true power needed to pose a real threat to him. He summoned a golden blade of energy with a hand move, effortlessly sundering the arc of fire and lightning before it could even reach him.
However, as the energy dissipated, the God of Glory and Fame’s expression shifted to one of slight surprise. The attack had hindered his vision, and in the brief moment it took to clear the residual energy, he realized too late that Vlad had used it as a distraction.
When the god’s vision cleared, his eyes widened at the sight before him. Vlad had condensed an enormous amount of energy in his chest. A pulsing wave of crimson and black that radiated overwhelming destructive force emerged from the man’s heart.
The air around the Depravita of Wrath crackled with intensity as the energy inside his heart reached its peak, ready to explode forward with unstoppable might.
For a moment, the God of Glory and Fame hesitated. The sheer magnitude of the energy Vlad had gathered was unlike anything he had encountered in this battle.
Vlad’s face was a mask of grim determination as he locked eyes with the god. He unleashed the gathered energy without hesitation, sending it hurtling toward the God of Glory and Fame!
