Chapter 194: Overlord (I)

"The Goddess Lucia always remained in the capital, which might indicate a lack of true battle power. Maybe she can channel faith and spread her influence, but she cannot truly harness the power into her flesh and soul," Jormungandr said in a serious tone, using the evidence and making several conclusions based on the information they learned about the Goddess.

Vlad, after a brief silence, acknowledged Jormungandr assessment. "Your analysis holds an 80% probability of truth. If that’s the case, our task becomes more manageable. Eliminating the Goddess would remove the Azarin Empier’s access to Divine Force, which will neutralize the Pope and the Emperor."

As he reached this point, all sorts of plans and schemes began to arise in Vlad’s mind, but he frowned, as none had a good chance of success.

"That is true, but I am sure the Azarin Empire’s Emperor and Pope understand their weakness, and assassination of the Goddess will be nearly impossible. She will definitely remain in the capital surrounded by guards with great equipment and all sorts of life-saving treasures created by the Emperor, so assassination will not work this time. The only way to reach her will be to carve a bloody path," Jormungandr frowned as he saw no path to end the Azarin Empire other than a bloody campaign into its capital.

Vlad sighed as he found no way to take down the Goddess without first piercing into the Azarin Empire. "To take down the Church of Glory and kill the Goddess, we must grow more powerful, much more powerful."

Vlad glanced at Jormungandr, and the duo nodded to each other as they knew what their next moves would be. They did not waste time and took the 32 unconscious prisoners from the dungeon.

Thanks to his Champion energy pool, Jormungandr was able to summon dozens of Magic Hands, and they brought all criminals in one go to the Xaos Tower. Some of those people would not endure long, so Vlad did not waste time and placed them in the Soulbinder’s Claim Runic Formation.

Jormungandr did not remain still as Vlad handled the people of the Azarin Empire. He sent a myriad of materials into the energy pool at the center of the underground level and began to work on a new artifact.

Once the souls were marked, Vlad pushed them to the Vengeful Runic Formation and communicated with the Legendary Devil. Once more, the powerful entity of hell remained silent, sending flames for the people and leaving behind spheres with drops of blood.

In a few hours, all the soldiers from the Azarin Empire were sent covered in flames, and Vlad obtained eighteen spheres. Fifteen were Mortal Tier Devil Bloodline, and the last three had reached the Champion Tier.

The bloodlines needed to be purified and cleansed from the Legendary Devil’s spirit mark. However, Vlad and Jormungandr focused on something else that could help the Xaos Kingdom grow much better than those bloodlines.

The Depravity of Wrath and Depravity of Gluttony rose to the second floor of the Xaos Tower and nodded to each other. The duo began to work, extending the runic lines and magic matrices.

Thanks to their A.I. Chip, Vlad and Jormungandr were able to flawlessly complete each other’s work. In a few days, the second floor was completed, so they advanced to the third floor. The duo took a few hours to rest every couple of days before resuming their work and pushing forward.

The small yellow cat was a master Alchemist, and his proficiency was no less than Vlad’s. He would only stop to go into the underground level once a day to monitor his creation before rising again and continuing with the magic matrices.

In less than three weeks, Vlad and Jormungandr were already on the fourth floor of the Xaos Tower. Through their hard work and sleepless nights, the duo had already completely covered the tower with the runic formations and magic matrices.

Jormungandr’s eyes narrowed as he took a massive white crystal from his space ring. It was the artifact in which he had worked for the past few weeks. As soon as he let go of it, the crystal began to rise, positioning itself right above the sky-seeing roof of the Xaos Tower, seemingly merging with the rest of the structure.

Vlad nodded to the small yellow cat as he saw that massive white crystal, and then the duo returned to their underground level. The Depravities were very tired but did not hesitate before focusing on the energy pool and sending a signal.

Immediately, the massive energy pool at the center of the underground floor began to rage as the energy that had accumulated for months started to decrease rapidly. Just as that happened, the myriad of runic lines and magic matrices that covered the tower began to glow, rising higher and higher.

Hundreds of people were working in the Xaos Tower, and all of them were shocked and awed as they saw the carvings made on the walls, floor, and ceiling begin to glow with a radiant light. One of them, a young man, had a strange expression on his face as he saw the lines.

"Why does it resemble a circuit board?"

Some people looked at the young man with confusion, as it was already a fact that circuit boards and the science of before no longer worked. Yet they could not help but find the similarities, and their shock only grew as an idea arose in their minds.

What had been in construction at the center of the Silent Wind Military Base was never just a tower. It was a massive supercomputer!

If Vlad had known the thoughts of those people, he would have laughed since they were right. From the start, what he was building was much more than a simple Wizard Tower, but a supercomputer, a neurocenter for his kingdom.

Vlad monitored the entire process, seeing how the runic lines and magic matrix acted with perfect precision as the energy finally reached the fourth level. There, it embedded into the massive crystal in the middle, which burst into white flames, transforming into a massive eye!
