Chapter 146: The rise of the Silent Wind Military Base
After the initial presentation, the group headed into the Silent Wind Military Base. Freya couldn’t help but glance around, and a sense of wonder appeared in her eyes once more.
The Silent Wind Military Base was packed with people. Hundreds of soldiers constantly marched through the streets, giving an imposing aura. Their rhythm and coordination made it clear that their discipline was impressive.
Normally, such an imposing military presence would create a sense of security but also pressure on civilians. Yet, there were normal people constantly walking around the military base, each of them carrying out tasks, all working in unison.
Both military and civilian aspects of the Silent Wind Military Base were handled flawlessly, with a powerful sense of defense and security, along with a vibrant civilization and a sense of personal freedom and purpose.
Freya couldn’t help but glance at Vlad with a sense of awe. This was a post-apocalyptic world, but less than six months had passed, and the young man had already established a place where people could live with safety and proper freedom.
"Haha, don’t look at me like that. The credit belongs to these two," Vlad released a small laugh as he saw Freya’s gaze and turned to Grand Marshal Anglius and Chief Counselor Alonz.
Just like the young woman, he was thrilled and excited to see how much the Silent Wind Military Base had advanced in such a short amount of time. It was clear that the rescue operation had gone well as there were already thousands of people in this place.
The moment Anglius and Alonz heard Vlad’s words, they immediately shook their heads and turned toward the young man with a sense of pure devotion and admiration.
"Please, my King, we do not deserve such praise. We just followed your guidance. Everything that needed to be taken care of was already in the memory tablets you gave us. Those military tactics and training are beyond what the Constantine Country had developed in its thousand years of existence," Grand Marshal Anglius spoke with pure admiration and awe as he remembered how impressive the military training courses that Vlad provided were, each one polishing the mind and body of the soldiers at an extremely fast pace.
"I must say that it was even more amazing in government matters. Even a fool would have been able to establish a proper government system and chain of command with the information you gave me, my King." Chief Counselor Alonz’s admiration was no less than the middle-aged giant’s.
Vlad couldn’t help but show a complicated smile as he heard the praise of the duo since he knew the one that devised those military protocols and training and the governance system and chain of command was the A.I. Chip and not him.
The guidance was the result of thousands of years of knowledge from his second past life that had been analyzed by the system. It came from very large, powerful, and ancient civilizations, so it was no wonder that such strategies were flawless, well-developed, and incredibly effective.
"Haha, yes Boss, your analytical abilities are on another level." Unlike the rest of the group that glanced at Vlad with awe, the small yellow cat released a small laugh.
Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he heard the mocking tone of the small yellow cat. His hand moved like lightning as he flicked Jormungandr’s nose.
"Ahh, prick!" Jormungandr shouted as he felt his little nose being struck. He then sneered and jumped from Vlad’s shoulder toward Freya’s. "Hmph, I will stay with the fierce beauty until you learn to control your savagery."
Vlad almost burst into laughter as he heard those words and simply shook his head. After that comical exchange, the group continued advancing, reaching a large building full of people in military and civilian uniforms.
There were communicator gems on the wall, and people were constantly receiving information from them, analyzing it, and then giving feedback. Even as the five people entered the building, they carried on with their duties, blind to everything else.
Vlad smiled and nodded as he saw that. This was the control center of the Silent Wind Military Base, and they were in constant communication and coordination with the groups that were marching through Inkmetal City in the rescue effort. They did not have time to waste on pleasantries as every minute of delay could mean a life lost.
The group made their way to the highest floor, where they sat around a table with a detailed map of Inkmetal City and its surroundings. It was full of marks depicting what the soldiers had found.
Grand Marshal Anglius and Chief Counselor Alonz focused on Vlad once they reached this place, only carrying on with their report after the young man indicated they could do so.
"Our rescue effort has gone very well, my King. We have managed to visit over 40% of the towns in Inkmetal City. We have rescued over 4000 survivors who have already reached the military base, and there are another one thousand on their way.
We have taken down several small hordes in our path and also clashed with some warlords. Most of them surrendered immediately after they saw our power, while others resisted and were taken down. Those rebels and criminals are currently imprisoned within the city."
Grand Marshal Anglius paused at this point, and a solemn light appeared in his eyes as he continued.
"The most significant clash we had was during the rescue of Froze Town survivors. Brigadier General Mitchel encountered a military force with advanced magic equipment. Luckily, Royal Guard Amara had been guarding the group and avoided a catastrophe. They are detained in a special area, and we have been awaiting your arrival before deciding our next step."
Vlad’s eyes grew sharp as he heard about this group that attempted an ambush. He couldn’t help but think it was connected to the massacre of Cold Town and its link with the Azarin Country. A flash of coldness soon appeared in his eyes as he was ready to find out the
