Chapter 355: Chapter 355: I’m Here, Is There Any Use?

"Wait a second." As the human-shaped monster was about to leave, Xia Dalian screamed.

Sikong Jing, upon hearing this, paused slightly.

"Are you looking for Sikong Jing? He is not in the Long Night Black Burning Camp, he might be in the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace."

"Also, his wife Su Yuexi has been captured by someone, and it’s very likely related to General Fu of the 67th Army."

"Sikong Jing’s mother-in-law has also been taken."

Since the incident with the Flying Blood Colorful Winged Horse, Xia Dalian had been suspecting that the human-shaped monster had something to do with Sikong Jing, hence she shouted out loud.

It was both to repay his act of saving her life and to test whether he was really related to Sikong Jing.

After her words fell, Sikong Jing’s body trembled slightly, and his eyes turned bloodshot as he stared at the Black-armored Soldier in his hands.

Crack...

He twisted the soldier’s neck directly and casually threw it on the ground.

Since he already had a clue about Su Yuexi, there was no need to keep this man for interrogation.

After that, Sikong Jing didn’t communicate with Xia Dalian at all and went straight back to the Divine Spaceship.

The Divine Spaceship turned around and sped off towards the 67th Castle...

Xia Dalian stared blankly at the disappearing blue Divine Spaceship, and then collapsed to the ground, feeling as though she had a narrow escape from death, and muttered, "I actually got rescued. Does this human-shaped monster really have anything to do with Sikong Jing?"

Because the human-shaped monster didn’t speak, Xia Dalian still didn’t understand the situation.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh...

Suddenly, several figures appeared. They were the strong members of the Long Night Black Burning Army, led by Vice Commander Cao Yi.

He coldly looked at the corpse of the Black-armored Soldier in the small woods and then his gaze fell on Xia Dalian. In a low voice, he inquired, "Why did that monster kill, and why did it spare your life?"

Xia Dalian was stunned for a moment and after struggling with her thoughts for a moment, she replied, "I don’t know, sir!"

The truth was, she really didn’t know; she just had suspicions.

"Why were you and these dead Black-armored Soldiers here?"

Cao Yi’s terrifying True Qi pressed down on Xia Dalian, and he made his status as the Vice Commander clear.

Xia Dalian took a deep breath and then recounted the entire incident of stumbling upon Su Yuexi being kidnapped, reporting to Ning Jingjing, and then being dragged by these men into the woods intending to assault her.

She also mentioned her suspicions about General Fu of the 67th Army being involved.

"As for why that monster saved me, I truly don’t know."

For some reason, Xia Dalian didn’t want to reveal her suspicion of the monster being related to Sikong Jing.

Cao Yi’s eyes gleamed; he growled, "Let’s go, continue to observe in secret."

...

Inside the 67th Castle, in the grand hall on top of the city wall.

Ning Jingjing was left alone facing General Fu of the 67th Army, of course after she had called at the gate and been let in.

General Fu’s real name was Fu Mian, a man in his thirties with an oddly sinister face, not looking like a good man.

After listening to Ning Jingjing’s intention, he purposefully widened his eyes and exclaimed, "General Ning, what are you blabbering about? How could I possibly kidnap someone named Su Yuexi?"

Ning Jingjing stared intently at Fu Mian and said, "If I remember correctly, you are one of Yan Shun’s men, right?"

It was quite normal for Yan Shun’s men to want revenge on Sikong Jing, so Ning Jingjing didn’t beat around the bush and got straight to the point.

Suddenly, Fu Mian’s expression became exaggeratedly incredulous.

"General Ning, you can eat your food carelessly, but you can’t just say anything carelessly..."

"Although I certainly respected Yan Shun when he was the Vice Commander, he has now been executed for his crimes, so how could I still be one of his men?"

Fu Mian certainly wouldn’t admit it, as Yan Shun’s charge of favoritism was one that, once implicated, would spell doom.

"I understand now, you’re trying to establish your authority, right? General Ning, you’ve just been promoted and you want to use me to establish your authority?"

"But, could you find a better excuse?"

Fu Mian stared at Ning Jingjing, unable to help himself from standing up and pointing at her severely.

But in his eyes, there was a cold sneer; Ning Jingjing was indeed too inexperienced—she had rushed over to confront him so quickly.

Who did she think she was?

Even if he had arranged Lan Gou’s affairs, would he admit it?

"General Ning, you are now the general of the 66th Army, you’re indeed impressive, but I’m not going to just sit here and wait for death." Thinking this, Fu Mian continued to stare at Ning Jingjing and speak, not giving the latter any chance to retort.

He was praising Ning Jingjing with his words, but his eyes were filled with nothing but contempt and mocking laughter.

"If you really want to use me to establish your authority, then I’ll let you down now. Bring your troops and attack me!"

Having said that, Fu Mian pointed to the eighty thousand Black-armored Soldiers outside and suddenly switched to a voice of mockery, "If you have the guts, lead your troops to attack me, do you dare? Do you have the capability?"

Ning Jingjing clenched her teeth, her entire face looking extremely ugly after being bombarded by Fu Mian’s tirade.

To attack the 67th Castle, she certainly did not have the capability or strength to do so now.

But she couldn’t accept it; Fu Mian was clearly the prime suspect.

Her fists clenched tightly, Ning Jingjing shouted with raging anger in her eyes, "General Fu, if you don’t hand over Su Yuexi to me, the same end that befell Yan Shun will befall you."

During the past half month, she had been preparing to join the 66th Army.

But now, on her very first day, Fu Mian had given her a powerful blow to her authority, stealthily taking away Su Yue and her daughter in the 66th Town, and now he was being exceptionally arrogant.

Ning Jingjing felt powerless, as if she had no other means but to issue threats.

And the fact was that she had just arrived, having been promoted to general of the 66th, so how could she possibly contend with these old hands?

"I’m so terrified, General Ning, but I don’t break military law out of favoritism, so how could I end up like Yan Shun?"

"Also, who exactly is this Su Yuexi you’re talking about?"

Fu Mian still looked completely unafraid, continuing to stare at Ning Jingjing with a sinister smile.

He didn’t take Ning Jingjing seriously at all; he was in a position to toy with her as he pleased. Seeing Ning Jingjing’s flushed face even made him want to laugh, and so he couldn’t help but burst into loud laughter.

"Ning Jingjing, within a month, I’ll return to the 66th Castle. Now, you can leave!"

"I also want you to struggle helplessly in your incapacity for this whole month. You can’t do anything about it, and nobody coming here will be of use."

"Yes, nobody coming here will be of use..."

Having said that, Fu Mian carelessly sat down, looking down from on high at Ning Jingjing.

Suddenly, just as Ning Jingjing felt like her teeth were about to shatter, a non-human-like voice rang out, "I’m here, is that useful?"

As the voice fell, Demon Smoke fiercely crashed into the grand hall of the castle, followed immediately by a human-shaped figure appearing within.

"I said nobody would be of use, but what the hell is this?"

Fu Mian replied subconsciously, but as he clearly saw the figure that appeared, he couldn’t help but cry out.

What had arrived was actually a human-shaped monster, and this monster could even speak?

Before he could react, Fu Mian felt a blur before his eyes as a gust of black wind suddenly rose, and the entirely black human-shaped monster appeared right in front of him, kicking out fiercely.

Fu Mian hadn’t had time to react before he screamed and was sent flying, slamming heavily into a wall.

The black wind picked up again, pulling him back.

Sikong Jing’s terrifying beast-like face loomed over him, and then slowly asked again, "I’m here, does that make a difference?"

"You, what are you?" Fu Mian asked, trembling all over.
