Jun Wu Xiao and Yue Guang ran around for a while. After a moment, the opportunity they had been waiting for finally arrived.

A nine-meter tall monster was charging towards them from their left side. There were still a few others behind it, but the distance was considerable. Perhaps with this distance, the two of them could defeat this monster and continue running.

The monster used its sharp claws to slash towards Yue Guang. She immediately jumped onto its back and then leaped once more towards its head. Then she delivered a punch to its head, causing the monster to lose balance and fall to the ground.

When fighting the monster, both Jun Wu Xiao and Yue Guang utilized jumping quite frequently. Although jumping high was never a priority when facing each other, dealing with different opponents required different coping methods.

The core of the monster was located in its head, and it was also quite tall, so if not for jumping, the only method left would be to sweep its legs to make it fall. As soon as Jun Wu Xiao saw the monster fall, he immediately ran towards it and delivered a powerful punch to the back of its head.

Not stopping there, Yue Guang spun in the air several times and then used her heel to strike down on the monster’s head. Her strike was like an axe with tremendous force that could cleave anything.

Being continuously attacked at one spot, the head of the monster suffered significant damage. Jun Wu Xiao and Yue Guang didn’t give the monster a chance to recover. They kept relentlessly striking at its head to extract its core.

Soon after, the monster’s core was also separated from its body. Despite being much stronger than a six-meter-tall monster, this monster couldn’t resist its own weaknesses. Losing its core meant being destroyed.

At this moment, another nine-meter-tall monster charged towards them. Yue Guang quickly leaped up, intending to use the same method as before, but a variable occurred this time.

In the moment she threw her punch, another monster suddenly approached her. Its mouth widened, revealing sharp teeth, with the intention of biting Yue Guang to death.

She quickly adjusted her movement, redirecting her punch to attack the approaching monster. However, the monster she intended to attack before turned back to prepare to bite her.

Floating in mid-air, her movements were restricted. Moreover, being attacked from both sides, she couldn’t defend against both at the same time.

Seeing this, Jun Wu Xiao immediately grabbed the leg of the monster on the ground and threw it backward. Just when everything seemed to be under control, two more monsters attacked Yue Guang.

Jun Wu Xiao screamed in pain but didn’t lose focus. His arm was now trapped in the monster’s mouth, so he used his leg to push against the monster’s face to jump out.

He managed to escape, but his left arm remained in the monster’s mouth and was swallowed whole. Yue Guang immediately ran to support him. She didn’t say much, quickly urging him to run to safety.

Jun Wu Xiao ran while quickly closing off his arteries to temporarily reduce bleeding. He also intended to tear his shirt to tie up his arm, but his body’s strength was too great. If he tied it tightly enough to stop the bleeding, his shirt would tear.

After running for a while, they were now in a relatively safe situation. Yue Guang also knew that Jun Wu Xiao’s injury was severe.

She understood that if Jun Wu Xiao hadn’t intervened, she would have been the one injured, and her injuries would have been much worse than his current state. She said:

"Hey, I just thought of something. When monsters are active, they also consume energy. And when they consume energy, they slow down to recover. But continuing to run like this isn’t a good idea. I think we should find a safe place to hide temporarily."

Hearing this, Yue Guang began to search her memories from many years ago. She remembered finding a cave entrance many decades ago that seemed quite small but had a deep interior. Perhaps it would lead to somewhere.

"I know of a place that might help us hide. Follow me quickly." Yue Guang said and then ran off to find the cave entrance.

Jun Wu Xiao also didn’t know where she wanted to go, but she said it was ’might’, not certain. He thought:

"I hope this time it will be successful. If not, it won’t be long before we really die if we don’t get some rest."

After a while of searching, they finally arrived at the entrance of a cave. Yue Guang said:

"Go into this cave."

Jun Wu Xiao nodded and then entered inside. As they went further in, the passage became narrower but still passable. However, this passage seems long. Perhaps it would lead to a place where they could buy some time.

The longer they could stall, the better, considering their recovery speed was much slower than the monsters.

This time they bet correctly. The narrow passage indeed led to a vast cave system underground. With such a difficult entrance, it was unlikely the monsters could enter here in a short time.

Although there might be other entrances to this place, based on their observations, they knew the monsters could see through objects or sense them.

They would take the shortest route to their target without caring about obstacles. In the current situation, that route would be digging straight down underground.

"It seems like this place can really help us hide for a while." Jun Wu Xiao said.

Yue Guang nodded, and then the two of them quickly went to sleep to recover from their injuries.
