Chapter 108: Return to the Kunlun Mountains

Jun Wu Xiao was pleased with the emperor’s decision. As long as no valuable items were used in worship, everything would be fine. After all, faith and gratitude are most valuable when they truly exist in the hearts of people, not in the luxurious offerings displayed before them.

"Alright, let’s settle it this way. You all continue with the meeting, my issue has been resolved. Farewell." With that, Jun Wu Xiao left immediately.

He came quickly and also left quickly. By the time the people in the meeting room reacted, he had already vanished without a trace.

"He’s already gone? Let’s continue our meeting." the emperor said.

"Yes, Your Majesty." the officials responded in unison.

They resumed their interrupted work. Meanwhile, Jun Wu Xiao headed straight back to the Kunlun Mountains.

He had no intention of staying any longer. Now, his only focus was on cultivation. Resting had become meaningless to him, as he believed there was something similar to monsters or even more terrifying out in the universe.

"I should check out the monster cores now. As for Feng Shuang, there’s no need to inform her. It will be a long time before she can break through to the food avoidance realm." Jun Wu Xiao thought.

Then he went directly to where he kept the monster cores. After a while, he stopped in front of a cave entrance blocked by rocks.

Looking at the pile of rocks, Jun Wu Xiao sighed:

"Why was I so diligent back then? Clearing this pile now is a bit troublesome."

He lifted a large rock with his hand, but something unexpected happened. The remaining rocks started rolling down, creating a scene resembling a landslide.

"Damn it, I thought I had secured them well. How come just removing one rock causes the rest to roll out?" Jun Wu Xiao cursed.

In reality, it was loose from the start. He didn’t have much knowledge about this, so he simply piled rocks until the cave entrance was blocked.

After a while, the rocks settled, revealing an entrance above them. Jun Wu Xiao’s face darkened as he saw his supposedly secure work collapse with a single touch.

"Haiz, whatever. Mistakes lead to progress as long as they’re not too big." he sighed.

He wasn’t wrong. Failure is the mother of success, but not every mistake can be corrected. If you die, you can’t come back to life. If you accidentally kill someone, they can’t be resurrected. If you start a war, you can’t stop it immediately.

There are many things where just one mistake can mean there’s no chance to change it forever. So, my advice is to make as few mistakes as possible. Don’t blindly follow the saying "Failure is the mother of success" and start recklessly trying everything. Once you’re dead, you can’t try again.

Jun Wu Xiao slowly stepped into the cave. Before him was a pile of monster cores he had accumulated in one place. Many years had passed, but aside from gathering dust, these cores hadn’t changed at all.

Jun Wu Xiao picked up the core of a six-meter-tall monster. He chose this one because it was the smallest. He used all his strength to hit the monster core, a loud crash echoed, but the core remained intact.

He tossed the core to the ground and thought:

"This thing is really too hard. With my current strength, I can’t even scratch it. Whoever created this must be incredibly strong. Although I don’t know the specifics, surely even one finger of theirs could kill me. But that’s assuming they even have fingers. I can’t imagine what kind of creature they are, what they look like, or even where they might be, whether they’re an individual or a group. Right now, I have no useful information about my true enemy. The only thing I can do is strive to get stronger every day."

His speculation wasn’t wrong. The enemy was very strong but also very mysterious. He felt like a small ant that could be accidentally stepped on at any moment. And he hated this feeling.

But he couldn’t blame the enemy or anyone else. The only person to blame was himself, for not being strong enough. That’s why he had to worry about these things.

Who’s the bad guy in this situation? Simply put, there is no one. It’s just that the stances of the two sides are different, their purposes in life are different.

In this world, there’s no such thing as a good being or a bad being. For humans, these concepts exist based on moral standards, but for the universe, there are only actions and results. What you do today leads to some outcome in the future.

Today, you kill someone. That seems like a bad thing, right? But what if the person you killed would have gone on to kill millions of people? Wouldn’t that make you a hero?

Absolutely not, you would still be the villain, not a hero. If you kill that person before they have done anything, before they’ve had the chance to kill millions, then you are simply a murderer, despised by the world, imprisoned, or executed.

The world does not really have the concept of good or bad people, only your actions leading to a certain outcome. The choice is yours.

You can be a kind person, helping others and, in the future, receive their gratitude, their help, or be ignored or worse, be harmed by them.

You can also be a bad person, you guilty, then chased by the police, shunned by many, or maybe escape and live a wealthy life.

You see, there’s no choice that is 100% good. I don’t support you being a good person, nor do I support you being a bad person. I support you in doing what you truly want to do. Whatever the outcome, doing what you genuinely want is the happiest and most meaningful thing for anyone.

All humans are the same. Whether you’re a criminal, a famous person, a wealthy person, an ordinary person, or someone with great power, nothing changes. You still have dreams, you still have aspirations, you still have something you truly want to do.

But there is one thing you must do if you want your dreams and aspirations to come true. That is to live. Only by living can you do what you want. Only by living can you experience what is called happiness. If you’re dead, you won’t feel happiness. In fact, you won’t feel anything at all. And don’t expect a second chance to live again.

Everything in this world doesn’t just appear from nothing. Energy can turn into matter, but nothing will forever be nothing. Do you think you deserve a second chance to live? Don’t delude yourself. What have you done to deserve a second chance? What is your contribution to the universe? A tiny decoration? So, in this one chance, try to do everything you can. Once it’s gone, you won’t get another.
