Chapter 476: 0476 Hype Using the Opportunity_1

Ellen Young saw the screenshots of the private message from Andalu University sent to her by the "Lonely Genius."

The message from Andalu University was still earnest, asking if there might be some misunderstanding. The speaker in the video, Theodore Hailey, insisted the theory was his original creation, and he did not admit to borrowing it. The person managing the Twitter account was not a major in AI and couldn’t fully discern the similarities, so they were merely trying to gauge the situation.

Lonely Genius: "This is laughable. He even dares to insist it’s his original creation. Do you know how serious the consequences of plagiarism are? He might even lose his academic degree, and yet he lies. I really wonder if his previous award-winning theses were also plagiarized from others."

This was Ellen’s first experience with such an incident. In her life, she had only seen others have their theses or other academic authority theories plagiarized; she was rarely the victim, as no one had the guts to do so.

But that was when everyone knew it was her work.

This time, in the forum, she might have concealed her identity with an alias, and no one would know who she was; this could have led to Theodore Hailey’s temporary lapse in judgment.

After thinking for a moment, Ellen replied to the Lonely Genius: "I’ll talk to Andalu."

She had several former teachers who were from Andalu, and she had a profound connection with the school. Resolving such a minor issue quietly would be best, after all, as it wasn’t something the school had done, but a personal mistake by a student.

If Andalu knew the truth, they would never allow a student to act so recklessly.

The Lonely Genius replied quickly: "????? Just by talking to them, you think they will listen? I saw the messages; this Theodore Hailey seems to be an important figure in Andalu. Just wait, they will definitely contact me again. He just borrowed two of your theories. Given the severity, Andalu certainly wouldn’t want to lose such a talent. I only posted on Twitter to get their attention, not thinking of ruining him. Just wait for my response."

Lonely Genius: "Don’t worry, buddy, I know my limits. Several of my classmates are from Andalu, and I must show them some respect."

Ellen: "..."

She fell silent for a moment, then sent another message: "If there’s no result tonight, I will go to Andalu."

Lonely Genius: "Sure, but when you talk about going to Andalu, your tone sounds confident. Buddy, what do you actually do in real life?"

He had chatted with Ellen quite a bit, but she had never revealed any real information about herself, only that she graduated from Hadton. He genuinely didn’t know what she did for a living.

Whether she was a professor or likewise a student, he was unclear.

Ellen: "I’m in research. I have a history with Andalu, and I know the professors there."

Lonely Genius: "[/Thumbs Up] Alright, impressive."

The original intention of the Lonely Genius was to post on Twitter to let Andalu know that there was something fishy about Theodore Hailey’s video. Perhaps being too young and using blunt methods.

The response from Andalu was swift, yet the reaction from Theodore’s delusional fans was even faster.

In minutes, they were certain their idol had been wronged, and then trouble started for the Lonely Genius.

This trouble, of course, did not involve him personally but his online information.

Proud of himself, his Twitter account displayed his real name, along with true information: age 14, a teenage prodigy from Kongsberg who had once made the news. Now, seeing this teenage genius publicly question Theodore Hailey, the fans felt a jolt.

After all, being professionals in the related field, they certainly knew better about plagiarism than the fans. But the fans couldn’t bear to see Theodore Hailey wronged and accused the Lonely Genius of trying to sensationalize for his own benefit.
