Chapter 469: 0469 I’ll visit your place another day to see_1
The place was sparsely populated and quiet.
Even when Ellen Young and Ruffy Smith came here, they wouldn’t cause any commotion.
Especially late at night.
Now, with Ruffy Smith holding her hand, Ellen’s thoughts were somewhat in disarray.
Ironically, since she had returned, she hadn’t properly visited these places.
Because there used to be certain restrictions, after all, her safety was a priority. Even though Damien Frost was watching in secret, the country was too anxious about her to take risks.
After all, there were precedents. Even incidents had occurred at prestigious universities like Hadton, and although public safety in Sina was indeed good, precautions were always better than afterthoughts.
Certain unscrupulous elements definitely didn’t want people like Ellen Young to exist.
She rarely went to crowded and complex places alone.
Even to places like this shopping mall.
Later, in the countryside, after screening, the villagers posed no threat and ensured nothing unsafe would happen to Ellen.
With Ruffy Smith leading her now, there were not as many restrictions, because he was watching over her, and he had his bodyguards.
The vast shopping mall was a rare source of novelty for her. Ruffy Smith led her up, and recalling the time he went to the supermarket with Ellen on her birthday, he smiled and asked, "Do you barely ever go out?"
"Yeah," Ellen glanced around. Now that it was very late, there were hardly any people. "Before, I didn’t need to go out. Later, I didn’t know what to do outside."
She truly didn’t have many companions.
Most people who got to know her remained overly restrained around her. Even Damien Frost could feel it. It wasn’t just about retiring to the countryside. After spending more time with people like Lucy Wood and becoming acquainted with more strangers, Ellen had become more patient with the public.
When she used to conduct experiments, she wouldn’t have as much patience with others, not to mention her naturally cold demeanor, which rarely invited casual conversation.
Of course, one couldn’t say a genius like Ellen Young necessarily needed friends, but now that she was open to everything, who could tell whether she hadn’t considered this before?
They got on the elevator, and the cinema was reached.
Tonight, Ruffy Smith had booked the entire cinema for just the two of them.
The staff greeted them warmly, especially recognizing Ellen, they were incredulous yet had an air of realization.
No wonder he booked the whole cinema. With Ellen’s status, it would have been fine to clear out the entire shopping mall.
Ruffy Smith also bought popcorn, handed over to Ellen to hold. She picked a few kernels and popped them into her mouth.
The taste wasn’t that great, probably because she was discerning from making her own food, she naturally had higher expectations for such things.
But here, what mattered was the ambiance.
Seeing her now shoving popcorn into her mouth, which didn’t quite fit her usual composed image, Ruffy Smith laughed, "Greedy, are we?"
"Not greedy," Ellen seriously explained to him. "Just curious, wanted to try."
Ruffy Smith laughed indulgently, "How does it taste?"
They walked a distance away, and Ellen still whispered so the staff wouldn’t overhear, "Average."
After all, it wasn’t nice to say someone’s product was bad in front of the owner.
Ruffy Smith also leaned in closer to whisper, "It’s not that great, right? But going to the cinema is all about the atmosphere. Actually, I have a cinema at my house. I wouldn’t mind you coming over to watch there."
Ellen paused, then said, "My house has one too."
Ruffy Smith amiably changed his offer, "Alright, let’s go to your place next time."
Ellen: "..."
