Chapter 445: 0445 Do you still need to disclose it? _1

Ruffy Smith paid no mind to Michael; instead, he entered the kitchen and began to help Ellen Young.

Now, he and Ellen Young were finally an item—at least that’s what he declared.

He was preoccupied with interacting with Ellen Young and had no interest in anyone else.

It was only when he stayed by Ellen Young’s side that Ruffy Smith realized a person only becomes bold when they are permitted.

For instance, even though he had liked Ellen Young before, he would never do anything impolite.

In the kitchen now, he haphazardly helped wash some vegetables, but spent the rest of the time gazing at Ellen Young.

Though her demeanor seemed ethereal, her grace while bustling about the kitchen gave her an extra sense of warmth and serenity.

She enjoyed cooking because creating delicious food was like her scholarly research, both yielding equally satisfying results; thus, she didn’t find it bothersome.

If she hadn’t liked it, she wouldn’t have considered moving to the countryside in the first place.

Ruffy Smith, resting his chin in his hand, watched her with interest, feeling he could never get enough, and finally asked the question he had always wanted to ask, "Did you come back to the village because of your grandfather?"

By grandfather, he naturally meant the grandfather who had raised Ellen Young.

Ellen Young paused for a moment before nodding and saying, "Pretty much. I miss my grandfather and wanted to experience this life better. I also prefer staying here."

It’s peaceful, and it’s her grandfather’s old home.

No matter what, there are childhood memories.

The villagers of Haran Village were good people. When she was a child, if any kids spoke to her inappropriately, their parents would scold them upon finding out.

In this day and age, although Haran Village is remote, its residents are rare in their simplicity and kindness, never saying anything against Ellen Young, who lacked parents.

Most of the credit, though, goes to Ellen Young’s grandfather, who truly commanded respect in the village.

His granddaughter, naturally, was also the apple of everyone’s eye.

The children’s lack of affection for her was understandable—when they were young, faced with an out-of-place, overly clever child, jealousy typically bred a sense of rejection.

Even then, Ellen Young had shown her intelligence.

Later, she was quickly taken away, and without time to ponder these things, she harbored no aversion to the village.

Ellen Young said, "I’m actually surprised you can stay here."

Given the temperament of this young master, the fact that he could stay in such a place for a few months, even to pursue her, was astonishing.

"For you, I’m willing to overcome any conditions," Ruffy Smith declared his loyalty as soon as he saw an opening. "Besides, if you can stay, why do you think I can’t?"

Ellen Young let out a faint laugh; the porridge in the pot was becoming thick and fragrant, its beautiful aroma wafting through the air.

Too oily a meal wasn’t suitable for early morning, so she only fried a few side dishes—a simple but delicious enough breakfast.

Ruffy Smith was picky, but with Ellen Young’s cooking skills, he didn’t really care what he ate.

When the food was served, Ruffy Smith couldn’t hide his good spirits and asked Ellen Young another question, "Can I make it public?"

Ellen Young looked at him in surprise, "Make what public?"

Ruffy Smith, feeling puzzled by her response, said, "Our relationship."

"Why would you need to make that public."

Ellen Young’s words made Ruffy Smith’s heart sink a bit, but then he heard her say, "Dating is normal, there’s nothing secretive about it. If they find out, they find out. Is there a need to announce it?"
