Ellen Young’s heartbeat seemed to pause for a moment.

She heard the humble pleading in the phone call and actually felt very confused.

But facing Ellen Young, his smile was now extremely joyful, so radiant that his eyes even squinted slightly, forming the shape of a crescent moon, indescribably beautiful.

He simply watched her and smiled, that smile reaching deep into her heart.

She moved past him to open the door, still uttering, "You just had to come over in the middle of the night."

It sounded like a complaint, yet carried her distinctive light tone.

He couldn’t resist the urge to hug her, but he also thought that given their relationship had just begun, acting on impulse would probably be too presumptuous for her.

It was already incredibly difficult for her to agree, so he didn’t want to do something impulsive that might scare her.

Even though all he wanted at that moment was to hold her.

He stepped inside sideways, unable to hide his cheerful demeanor, as if he were beholding all the beauty of the world, "I just wanted to see you."

After he closed the gate to the courtyard, his movements unconsciously softened. Ellen Young turned and walked toward the inside of the house, even yawning.

Seeing how truly tired she was, Ruffy Smith also couldn’t bear to bother her. He leaned in close behind her. She was over a head shorter than him, and as he looked down at the crown of her head, he asked in anticipation, "Was what you said on the phone true?"

Ellen Young turned around, looking at him with a bit of surprise.

He had come in such a rush, still wearing the clothes from yesterday, which didn’t fit the characteristics of a young master like him.

It also proved that he was indeed very anxious.

"Weren’t you drinking? Why are you asking me this question? What if what you said wasn’t true? Maybe you were just drunk," she said.

Ruffy Smith laughed at her words with amusement, "Me, drunk? Even if I were drunk, you should know clearly what I’ve said. I’ve said it to you even when sober. You suddenly accepting me, of course, surprised me. I’m just too happy."
