Chapter 433: 0433 Drinking_1

Upon hearing these words, Ruffy’s mood unexpectedly turned cheerful, and he snorted with laughter, "What do you mean by meddling too much? I’m pursuing her openly and honorably."

"The problem is Ellen Young hasn’t agreed. Who knows what kind of relationship you two have?"

Taylor looked at him, poking his sore spot, "It’s just a pursuit. She has the right to reject, as well as the right to accept other people’s advances. Everyone is holding back for now because they know you’re after her, but you can’t keep this up forever. There has to be a result eventually, and I need to remind you of a realistic issue."

He spoke earnestly, "Ruffy, you’re twenty-eight. Sooner or later, you will inherit everything from the Smith Family, and all of this, you will have to pass on to your next generation. Although thirty is still considered a man’s prime, if the person you’re pursuing is Ellen, I’m aware of her ambitions; she will probably focus on her career for her entire life. She’s kind of a miracle, and the country will certainly continue to support her and hope that she carries out more research projects."

"Your timelines are destined to not align. You have the Smith Family business to manage, she may be cooped up in the laboratory her whole life. You need to think it over, if you can’t come to a result before the age of thirty, then you might as well end it early."

Ruffy fell silent for a moment before sitting down, crossing his legs, and casually resting a hand on the back of the sofa, "What era are you living in, Dad? Aren’t you just wanting me to get married and have a child?"

"This isn’t about the era. Do you expect me to watch the Smith Family, a hundred years from now, with no third-generation heir? If we were an ordinary family, it wouldn’t matter. But we are the Smith Family, I can’t just watch everything fall into the hands of strangers."

Ruffy sat up straight again, looking earnestly at his father, "You are still young and capable. I suggest you have another child while there’s still time. After all, I’ve prepared for a long-term struggle for Ellen. Don’t expect me to look for someone else. I’m not the least bit interested in anyone but her. If you have a solution, you’d better tell me how to win her over quickly."

Taylor was so close to grabbing a pen from the table and throwing it at Ruffy, "Just get out!"

Ruffy clicked his tongue, and while his anger dissipated a bit, he stood up and of course, still planned to rush towards East City.

He certainly wanted to go back to Ellen.

But it had to be said, Taylor’s words had struck a chord with him.

A long-term struggle is a struggle, but who has the time to persist six years at a time?

Since the age of twenty-two, he’d never disturbed Ellen, because he knew that she had various studies to conduct, her own things to manage. Although she was bright, she was also very busy.

And he was the same.

Watching her climb higher and stand in a place ever so distant, he could only look up and touch the traces of her.

He was already lucky enough; others didn’t even get the chance to touch those traces.

The liking was real, but getting her was truly difficult.

Ellen appeared to be without desires or dislikes, lacking in anything specific, which made it especially challenging for Ruffy to surprise her with anything.

Because she lacked nothing.

Although his courage hadn’t faded, his own father had just hit a sore spot, and his mood was somewhat uncommonly gloomy.

Just as he found out he was returning to Imperial City, a close friend called to meet up at a bar, and after some thought, he decided to go.
