Chapter 362: 0362 What game_1
Lucy Wood promptly finished her recording session at eight o’clock in the evening.
Because she was benefiting from being a trending topic on Twitter, although she was her sister, she too basked in the limelight.
There was no need to worry about popularity or any sort of traffic now as the talent agency proactively considered giving Lucy Wood a contract renegotiation with a higher revenue share, to dissuade her from thinking about switching companies.
Felicia Frost called almost instantly, and upon hearing that Lucy Wood was busy with her own work, Melissa Chan saw Ellen working on Michael.
She had been studying AI lately, and now she just watched Michael pondering something, Michael, fully charged, would walk around in the courtyard, a sight Melissa had gotten used to.
While Lucy was on the phone, she came over to talk to Ellen, "Ellen, I’ve heard that you were raised by your grandfather when you were a kid?"
After the big fuss about Ellen’s recent events, Melissa of course knew about it; she hadn’t expected that Lucy had had such a hard life over the years.
When she first met Lucy Wood, she was as bright and sunny as her name suggested, which was why she became good friends with Lucy.
Now, she even invited her to her sister’s place.
She was just trying to get a general understanding of Ellen and wasn’t trying to pry into anything, nor was she asking questions that needed to be avoided.
Ellen nodded in affirmation, "I grew up with Grandfather."
"I have a presumptuous question—I know you were quite intelligent as a child, and I’m curious as to how you stood out from the rest."
Ellen’s intelligence was far from ordinary, being called upon by the country for training so swiftly must have been truly astonishing.
Melissa had never experienced such a world; she was merely curious.
Ellen glanced at her, "Nothing much, as a child, I was just like anyone else, just that I finished problems faster and skipped grades quicker."
Melissa: ????????????
Just finished problems faster and skipped grades quicker?
She kept her composure, "You should realize that being able to skip grades continuously means you are different from others, the knowledge that takes us years to learn might only take you months."
She graduated from the university at nine, the rest of us, including Melissa, graduated in our twenties...
The comparison was heartbreaking; comparing them was a reminder of the tears of the academic underachievers.
"Oh?"
Ellen pondered a moment, "Perhaps, there’s really nothing special. I was just a bit better at studying, knew a bit more than everyone else. That’s why I had more time to research things others hadn’t studied."
Melissa: "..."
Perhaps that’s what being a genius is like, frighteningly intelligent yet never contemplating the vast disparities among humans.
If you can’t keep up with her reasoning, it’s your own mistake!
She decided not to ask any more questions, as the more she asked, the more she realized the gap between herself and a genius, and it was easy to feel a kind of intellectual embarrassment.
At that moment, Lucy Wood, who had finished her call, came over and asked Melissa, "Shall we play a game? I haven’t played in so long, I’ve been too busy lately."
Melissa nodded, "Sure, let’s play a couple of rounds. Let’s go inside so we won’t disturb Ellen."
At this point, Lucy looked at Ellen, who was studying Michael, and suddenly said, "Ellen, come play the game with us, you’re so smart, you’ll pick it up really quickly."
Melissa gasped, the underachiever actually asking the top student to play games?
Was she really trying to lead the top student astray?
Ellen turned her head, and although she did not seem too interested in games, she had indeed never played and thus said, "Sure, what game?"
