Chapter 345: 0345 I will cook some duck for lunch_1

Ellen Young’s description of her entrepreneurship was understated, "I happened to acquire one back then."

Of course, banks can face bankruptcy issues too; they’re not state-owned. I acquired it then by a fortunate coincidence."

Lucy Wood: "..."

She felt she really knew too little.

Anything involving the word ’bank’ meant no small sum of money, let alone Ellen’s entire Wanton Group.

Lucy thought of how Ellen started her business in her teens, and now she had built a massive empire, and felt dizzy at the thought.

The gap between people can sometimes be so ridiculously huge.

After sighing at the disparity, Lucy instantly thought of David Wood’s sinister intentions and couldn’t help but criticize, "He’s really dreaming."

The money was loaned out, and the company left to Lucy.

The mess left behind was all Lucy’s to deal with.

If Lucy hadn’t entered the entertainment industry, she might have really taken over this mess.

"Whether it’s a beautiful dream or not is secondary,"

Ellen Young said with a light smile, "I think it will end up with you anyway, Daniel Wood won’t be able to stay in the country for much longer."

Disregarding the loan, Daniel Wood’s mobility in the country was severely limited, and David Wood’s guidance couldn’t change much. David had only just recovered from surgery; whether his condition was good or not was another matter. The real issue for the shareholders was his inability to hold on any longer.

Most people definitely had other things on their mind by now, and with Ellen’s situation involved, the impact on the Wood Family was too significant.

Although they had a granddaughter of massive fame who had no intention of returning to the Wood Family, and Edward Wood’s actions had even marred Ellen’s reputation, now the higher-ups had serious grievances with the Wood Family company. Some, getting wind of the troubles, naturally wanted to dispose of this hot potato.

What if someone decided to make a move on the Wood Family company in the future?

The steeper the fall in the Wood Family’s stock price, the greater the loss.

Lucy Wood furrowed her brows, "I won’t take over. Even if it goes bankrupt or whatever, in the end, they still have their own money, it’s just the Wood Family company."

At that, she scoffed coldly twice, "When there’s no trouble, they are all one family; the moment issues arise, they think of me."

Now, when Lucy brought up this matter, she felt nothing because she could not feel any colder.

Ellen Young nodded, "You decide on your own."

In the end, it was Lucy’s matter to deal with. No matter what Daniel did, they could just sell the company or let it continue on its downward spiral. Bankruptcy was inevitable.

Without David’s help, he was truly useless.

It was already late; after speaking for a while, Lucy let Ellen go in to rest, told her not to stay up too late.

She had to get ready early the next morning, as Melissa Chan was coming over.

Ellen nodded and went to rest.

The next day, Ellen got up early as usual. Upon waking, she heard Lucy answering a call in a groggy voice, her tone sharp, "Are you trying to kill yourself, calling me so early? And you still need to talk about getting on a plane!!"

Clearly, the caller was a close relation; otherwise, Lucy would not have shown such a fierce side.

The caller was indeed Melissa Chan, her good friend.

Lucy spoke a few words with drowsiness in her voice and hung up the phone. When she got out of bed and saw Ellen washing up, she ruffled her hair and said, "Melissa is on her way here from Mago City, says she’ll probably arrive around noon."

Ellen nodded, "I’ll cook some duck for lunch."

Lucy was very happy with whatever Ellen did and quickly agreed, "That sounds good."
