Ruffy circled his arms, "I’m not without things to do over here."

Since the dog was Ellen’s, it wasn’t Ruffy’s place to complain, but Ellen responded with a stern reprimand, "Blackie."

Blackie seemed to know he had erred, hunkering down on the spot with a pitiful look towards Ellen.
