Chapter 320: 0320 evening_1

Ellen Young saw that Ruffy Smith was still there and said, "You can go back and send the materials to me, I’m going to get busy with some stuff now."

Ruffy Smith nodded his head.

If Ellen Young was truly interested, that project under his leadership might have the chance to achieve significant breakthroughs.

After returning, Ellen Young plunged into the study of AI knowledge.

The electronic information she studied contained similar content, but now she needed to absorb more specialized knowledge. While learning, Ellen Young looked up online materials and forums.

She sought these out not because she believed some materials were only available online, but because she needed to gather inspiration.

After all, sometimes, in addition to a solid professional foundation, experiments and research need ample imagination and inspiration, especially in the field of AI.

AI encompasses a very broad range with implications far beyond simply making robots intelligent. She could visit some professional forums and through discussions with experts in the field, see if she could glean some inspiration to determine her direction.

First, she watched several key expert videos on AI from around the world.

She watched for an entire afternoon and then settled on an online forum.

It was an international site where AI enthusiasts and amateur scientists gathered, presenting various hypothetical suggestions based on their imaginations to discuss with others, and even proposing potential applications for AI as well as its future achievements.

Ellen Young browsed through, and it was mostly discussions among people.

There were genuinely capable individuals, but most of the points raised were either too fantastical, lacked practicality, or were too presumptuous.

However, Ellen Young was only looking for some unique insights and wasn’t too concerned about these, flipping through until she stumbled upon a post.

The initiator of the post was discussing how to make AI autonomously imitate human thinking, claiming that if AI could autonomously learn to learn, it could easily solve thinking problems.

Moreover, he believed that it was impossible for machines to have emotions like humans, but autonomous learning was entirely achievable.

This perspective was actually quite common; the issue was in the details he proposed of how to do it.

He also put forth his own plan, which, to most people, seemed too ridiculous and immature to even be given an experimental opportunity in a big company.

He proposed several points in his post but received very little attention.

After all, most discussions about AI nowadays are based on market issues, and most people are looking for just a small breakthrough to make a fortune off of it. Topics that are too advanced don’t get attention because nobody can implement them, so nobody discusses them.

Ellen Young looked through and was noncommittal about the details in the points, but she didn’t completely dismiss them either.

All feasibility has to be built on the foundation of failure in experiments—how can you know it won’t work without trying?

But AI is a long-term battle and can’t be achieved just by talking. She had some interest in this person’s statements, so she left a message under the post, responding to the points raised, indicating which aspects were feasible, which were unfeasible, and which were completely impractical.

The ID she used to register on this forum was simply ’wan’.

It represented her name and was quite ordinary.
