"You’re just too soft-hearted,"

Ruffy Smith sighed softly, "Being a bit more ruthless wouldn’t have had anyone complaining about you."

"Why is that?"

Ellen Young merely raised an eyebrow slightly, "Principally speaking, the Wood Family hasn’t really placed any obstacles in my way. What they are doing now is their own choice. My decision merely ensures that the Wood Family will never cross paths with me again in the future and everything will revert to how it was before."

As she turned to leave, Ruffy Smith was about to call out to her when he suddenly saw a completely black robot walk out of her house.

Ruffy Smith frowned.

The robot moved in a step-by-step halt, half the height of a person, and didn’t seem like the latest model.

Once it came out and scanned for Ellen Young’s presence, it started to inquire, "Have you eaten?"

Ellen’s response was very natural, "I have."

Michael continued, "What did you eat?"

Ruffy Smith grew somewhat interested, expecting this robot to be different since it stayed by Ellen’s side, but then he heard Ellen casually name a dish, and the robot simply acknowledged with an ’oh’ before turning around and walking off to another part of the courtyard.

Blackie was spinning around next to it, its tail wagging happily.

Ruffy Smith suddenly let out a snort of laughter, "A dumb dog matched with a dumb robot."

He stepped forward, "Where did you buy this robot?"

"It wasn’t bought; I made it myself from past research,"

Ellen answered him, and Ruffy Smith was a bit surprised, "I remember you said you had no plans to research AI."

"When I was younger, I switched to other more practical fields after realizing the results wouldn’t be very significant. Michael was an experimental subject from that time, though not very intelligent. Now that I have the time, I plan to resume my research."

The past was the past, and ideas can change.

At least Ellen was certain about one thing, AI could not be left unresearched—it was involved in too many things.

Regardless of whether or not any major achievements were made, at least it was worth starting now.

Ruffy Smith’s eyes suddenly twinkled; he thought of something and abruptly said, "As a Distinguished Fellow like yourself, I’m not sure if you’d bee interested in a project of mine about AI."

As expected, Ellen didn’t refuse, "What project?"

Ruffy Smith replied, "It’s quite complicated to explain, but I place great importance on this project. I’ll send you the details later, and you can let me know if you’re interested."

Ellen nodded, "That’s fine."

Although it involved privacy and perhaps shouldn’t be disclosed, Ruffy Smith had no such awareness concerning Ellen.

Just then, the village chief learned about Ellen’s return and came to see her. When he saw Ruffy Smith, he was quite surprised, "Mr. Smith is back too?"

Ruffy Smith nodded, and Ellen, seeing the village chief, called out, "Village Chief Grandpa."

"Oh my, that won’t do!"

The village chief’s eyes were filled with shock upon seeing her.
