Chapter 303: 0303 robot_1

The package had been brought up, a big pile of items.

But Damien Frost and his colleagues all adhered to their duties and did not look at what Ellen Young’s things were.

Unless Ellen Young asked for their help, they would not do anything on their own.

Ellen Young naturally didn’t ask for their help, and she opened the packages herself with a small knife.

In fact, they were all trivial items, various little gadgets she created back at Farnsworth Research Laboratory.

Only there was one box that was particularly large.

She probably remembered what it might be.

Blackie watched curiously as she unpacked various odd and curious things, until the largest box was opened, and a robot half the height of a person appeared before it.

It looked simple, made out of special material throughout, and was extremely sturdy.

It resembled an ordinary person, only its face was that of a robot.

Its eyes were dull and without light, and would only glow once powered on.

Looking at this thing, Ellen Young felt quite sentimental.

She knew that the Farnsworth Research Institute would send this thing over; they kept all her stuff, unwilling to destroy it.

This thing was a kind of memory for her.

At that time, she had been very interested in Artificial Intelligence, madly conducting all sorts of research; it’s just that there was too much to do, and not enough technology to support the weak theories she had established.

After all, in a world where none of the global tech giants had made any technological breakthroughs, the journey was quite challenging for her alone.

However, she still developed her first smart AI robot.

In reality, it wasn’t smart.

It could only simply respond to Ellen Young with sentences from its word bank, but this thing was actually much better than most intelligent products nowadays, only the Ellen Young of that time didn’t think it was perfect enough to launch.

Now, with technology having advanced, many of its functions seem somewhat outdated.

She remembered too many things; she could remember them as long as she tried.

The little robot interested Blackie greatly, it barked twice, seemingly confused about something that looked both similar and dissimilar to its owner.

In any case, it was also a souvenir. The charging cables were all inside, Ellen Young plugged the robot in and pressed the switch, the little robot’s mechanical head turned around, detecting Ellen Young’s presence, and it said, "Hello."

The voice was a simple mechanical sound, but slightly childish.

Ellen Young smiled seldomly, looking at this thing as if she saw her slightly naive past self.

Actually, she wasn’t always like this; her first personality was still like that of an ordinary child.

A person’s character must necessarily change with time and age; growing up too fast doesn’t lead to maturity.

Back then, she too would be distressed over failed experiments, feel frustrated due to imperfect and insufficiently thorough research, and would express some of her own emotions clearly.

Now, growing older and accumulating more, she became exceedingly grounded, turning into a super genius unbreakable in front of everyone.

This thing reminded her of the time she first developed it, when she excitedly called her grandfather to showcase her accomplishments.

Full of spirit and very happy.

Her grandfather was consistently praising her on the other end, saying she was amazing.

Thinking back on these memories now was like seeing her naive self again. She gently bent down and said to the robot, crisp and clear, "Hello."
