Chapter 262: 0262 Here it comes, the climax is coming!_1
Zoe Lewis rolled her eyes, "You’re like a stupid pig!"
Clinton White sneered, "Do you even believe what you’re saying?"
Zoe Lewis: "..."
Clinton White looked at Ruffy Smith in the live broadcast and still felt a bit annoyed, "Today was supposed to be my boss’s show. What’s that show-off doing there? Look at these ignorant netizens, only caring about looks. This event is about IQ!"
"His IQ is not low either."
Zoe Lewis clicked her tongue twice, "If it were low, how could he get anywhere near the boss? Sigh, it’s about to start, how come the boss hasn’t arrived yet?"
Clinton White: "What do you know, the star of the show always arrives last."
...
As it turned out, Ellen Young was indeed not trying to make a dramatic late entrance—she was stuck in traffic! She had set out at the scheduled time in the morning and had even planned for traffic delays, but nothing could prevent the chronic congestion of Imperial City. Fortunately, Ruffy Smith arrived at 9:40, and she was scheduled for 9:45, there were still fifteen minutes until the start, so there was no rush.
The organizers of the Laursen Seminar had already made several calls and finally breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that Ellen Young had truly arrived.
They had been worried Ellen Young might cancel at the last minute.
After all, several big names had come this year specifically for Ellen Young.
Bruno hadn’t seen Ellen Young for several years, and he had landed early that morning. The old man barely had any rest after getting off the plane, immediately asking about Ellen. Just a short while ago inside, he had already asked several times.
A whole crowd of scientists were also asking about Ellen.
After all, unlike others who received only bits of news, they were clearly aware that it was because of Ellen’s return.
Many who typically wouldn’t attend such events were there on account of Ellen’s reputation, as listening to her speak was truly beneficial.
Ellen Young used to speak privately but not publicly, though she had collaborated with many scientists, including Bruno.
When Ellen Young was a professor in Hadton, Bruno was already established and would often discuss math problems with her.
There were many problems that even Bruno found challenging, but after discussing with Ellen, results would come quickly. To this day, several of the world’s toughest problems originated from Bruno.
Today, Ellen Young was dressed in an unassuming black trench coat, a pair of matching casual pants, and was wearing sneakers, which perfectly showcased her exquisite figure.
Her long hair was still tied up elegantly in a bun.
It was hard to believe that someone with such an understated appearance was actually a world-shocking boss.
The security guards at Laursen were taken aback when they saw Ellen Young arrive.
They thought she was some assistant from somewhere.
But seeing the organizer’s bigwigs accompanying her respectfully, the security guards realized something was off.
Ellen Young also showed her invitation, went through several checkpoints, and was escorted inside by the organizer’s people.
The security guard gazed at that highest-level invitation for a solid three minutes.
Damien Frost was assigned to protect Ellen Young closely, so he followed her in directly.
He just needed to stand within a close distance of her, dressed in a black suit and wearing sunglasses, the typical look of a bodyguard was quite apparent.
Inside the venue, there was still commotion and excitement over Ruffy Smith’s arrival, and some people were looking around anxiously, which made Nina York curious as she watched from behind.
She noted that one of the bigwigs had yet to arrive and had no idea who this mysterious boss was.
It wasn’t until she heard a faintly excited whisper from behind, "Here, here, she’s really here!"
It came from the media’s seats in the back.
She instinctively turned to look and, like countless others, stood frozen in place.
