Chapter 245: 0245 The boasting genius next door_1
The program headquarter was relieved.
On the first day, Ellen Young and Lucy Wood had sought out topics that sent the heat soaring to its apex. They really made things easy for everyone.
As comforting as that was, they were always on live broadcast and wouldn’t notice what was happening online.
Lucy Wood indeed played Flora’s cello all morning long.
Even those viewers without any particular expertise could tell the huge difference in the sound of the cello from when she first started.
The music that issued forth was clearly brighter and more exquisite, emanating an inherently elegant and noble aura.
It felt like it wasn’t even on the same level.
Not knowing Flora didn’t matter; the point was to at least let people know, "Oh, this cello is indeed better than the previous one."
The violin Ellen Young brought out wasn’t an ordinary one.
Ellen Young had peeled radishes all through the morning—it was a large quantity, and she had a lot to peel.
At noon, she continued into the kitchen to cook. Lucy Wood, having played the cello for so long, felt embarrassed to continue and followed her to the kitchen to help out.
She had never cooked before, but now she could at least do some of the basics. When the little black dog came in trotting around, Lucy Wood asked curiously, "Where did you buy Doggy from?"
Ellen Young replied, "I picked it up."
Lucy Wood appeared surprised, "Picked up?"
Ellen Young nodded, "It came to my door on its own."
Lucy Wood laughed, "I thought you bought it."
She didn’t dislike dogs, but she had been too busy to ever own one, and it never occurred to her that Ellen Young would keep a dog, either.
She bent down and reached out her finger to poke the little black dog but didn’t expect Blackie to step back two paces, looking at her warily.
Clearly, it didn’t want to be touched.
Lucy Wood had to give up. She was curious and casually asked, "What breed is it?"
Ellen Young’s explanation was quite simple, "Just a native dog, a mixed-breed country dog."
Lucy Wood: "..."
Indeed, Blackie didn’t look like any prestigious dog breed but rather just a common one.
Probably because it was a mix, its coat was pure black.
Ellen Young had been feeding it well though; its fur was shiny and seemed to have quite a glossy sheen to it. It looked a bit chubby, not overly cute but not ugly either.
It only wagged its tail when facing Ellen Young.
While Lucy Wood and Ellen Young were discussing, the audience in the live broadcast room was starting to give their opinion on the native dog.
Most said it was cute, but some said a native dog wasn’t presentable—why keep such a dog?
Of course, Naya York was up to something again.
In her home, a dog appeared too, a prestigious breed, a Maltese dog.
It wasn’t that the breed was incredibly expensive, but this dog had won a prize—an award for beauty.
With its pure white fur, poised and elegant, it was indeed easy to tell at a glance that it was different from other breeds. Naya York had gone through quite some trouble to arrange for it.
The key was that this dog hadn’t even been seen in the last episode of her program, and now it suddenly showed up, and she was coddling it and calling it her baby.
Although an expensive dog was indeed beautiful, it couldn’t help but make things feel a bit awkward.
[So here’s the question, Blackie, Ellen Young’s little black dog, appeared first—so who is the imitator?]
[Naya, I think you’re really weird. They have a cello next door, you have a cello. They have a dog, you also get a dog, weren’t you the one who said you were allergic to dog hair before? Did you forget?]
[Hahaha, is Naya York online for a wreck?]
[Allergic to dog hair yet now claiming to be a dog lover? You just want to draw a contrast with Ellen Young—she keeps a native dog, and you must keep a prestigious dog breed to outshine her? Who are you trying to disgust?]
[It’s just jealousy. My Naya can afford a Maltese dog; it’s not something that bragging windbag next door can compare to!]
