Chapter 234: 0234 don’t be nosy_1
"Graduated from Hadton?"
The female director was genuinely surprised, as they had always wanted to know where Ellen Young had graduated from.
Previously, they didn’t want to say it, thinking it was some ordinary or unaccredited university.
They never expected it to be Hadton.
How many in the circle could be found who had graduated from Hadton?
Not disclosing that, Ellen Young was really keeping a low profile, wasn’t she?
"She could have mentioned it earlier, and at least she wouldn’t have been talked about on the internet..."
The director’s words made sense, but Felicia Frost thought that revealing a graduation from Hadton would definitely lead to people checking, and discovering a Hadton professor might be shocking.
Ellen Young just didn’t want the hassle, or else she would have said it from the start, right?
No, perhaps it was just a matter of not being very familiar yet.
Lucy Wood was her sister, and she didn’t mention it either; it was only after they got familiar that she spoke.
She didn’t need to show off with this, how normal it was for her not to tell the program team.
Felicia Frost then said, "Ah, she just wanted to keep a low profile. When she came on the program, it was Lucy Wood who begged her to come on..."
As Felicia spoke, she glanced at the distant Lucy Wood, who was seriously rehearsing lines with a veteran actor, before continuing, "So Ellen Young wasn’t too willing to come on the program, if not for feeling pity for her sister..."
The director paused for a moment, "Is Lucy Wood pitiable?"
She had risen to fame upon entering the circle, a fate many envied.
It seemed Ellen Young, abandoned by the Wood Family, was the more pitiable one.
"You know about the Wood Family’s affairs and still don’t think she’s pitiable? They favored boys over girls... Ah, I won’t say more. It’s all in the past now. If she hadn’t participated in your program, she would have had to pay a compensation of two hundred million, how could she afford that?"
"How could she possibly not have two hundred million?"
The director was truly astounded; after all, in this industry, given Lucy Wood’s status and several years of work, how could she not come up with two hundred million?
"It’s been said she’s pitiable."
Felicia Frost didn’t want to dwell on the troubles of Lucy’s family, "If you meet any academicians or something, don’t be too surprised. Ellen Young just came on your program, there was no need to say so much, right?"
Whether someone wishes to disclose their identity has nothing to do with the program team.
The director knew this was true but still felt it was unbelievable, "Really not going to publicize it?"
On their side and Naya York’s side there was some targeting; Naya York was clearly using her own sister to slap Lucy Wood’s face. One was a top scholar from Kongsberg, the other a Hadton graduate. Just looking at the academic credentials, Ellen Young might have a slight edge.
Such a good bargaining chip, and Lucy Wood isn’t using it?
"No," Felicia Frost stated firmly, "and don’t meddle."
The director pursed her lips and hung up the phone.
She did want to meddle, but considering the eccentricities on Ellen Young, and since the program team had previously promised to suppress the news for Lucy Wood, now that they held a hot topic in their hands, they couldn’t reveal it.
This made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.
She looked into the distance where Professor Cecil Jack and Ellen Young were conversing happily. From afar, she couldn’t tell what they were talking about, but it was clear they were having a good time.
Could a student and teacher have such a close relationship?
Of course, Professor Cecil Jack’s visit was quite the spectacle, with several people accompanying him and the program team present; she wouldn’t think anything untoward.
It just seemed overly strange.
Whether or not Ellen Young found it strange was none of her business; Professor Cecil Jack had just come to see her. With tight time constraints, he wouldn’t stay long and would leave after lunch.
