Chapter 230: 0230 Professor Jack has arrived_1

The next day, the staff following Ellen Young’s group returned.

With the live broadcast set to begin at the start of the month, they naturally needed to come back in advance to prepare.

The program had garnered a huge response on the Internet after its last airing, being a pioneer live broadcast show, and now the highest discussed topic on the Internet was this variety show.

Ellen Young had also made a few appearances on the trending topics.

In the meantime, national young idols like Victor Brown had also trended, but as they weren’t really related to Ellen, she obviously wouldn’t pay attention to these people.

This time, upon arrival, the female director sought out Ellen and relayed some news to her.

"Our program team has an additional interview crew that would like to interview you. It isn’t mandatory, so you can think it over," she said.

Ellen looked at the director’s earnest face and replied indifferently, "Is the interview really necessary?"

"Not particularly necessary. It’s just that it would allow the audience to understand you more deeply."

Ellen firmly declined, "Then there’s no need for it."

She didn’t need the audience to understand her too well. If it was not stipulated in her contract, Ellen was uninterested.

The female director, observing Ellen’s resolute refusal and recalling the recent storms she had caused on the Internet, as well as the Wood Family’s matters, initially thought this girl was quite cold. Now knowing about her issues with the Wood Family, she couldn’t help but feel somewhat more sympathetic.

But that sympathy seemed unnecessary now, especially considering the recent rumors that she was acquainted with Geoffrey Hann, which only fueled public curiosity.

The shooting hadn’t started yet, and the director, not fearing others hearing her, couldn’t help but ask Ellen, "With all the recent news about you online, don’t you have anything you’d like to say regarding the Wood Family? The Wood Family’s actions are quite questionable. If you showed some stance on the program, put some pressure on them, they might not refuse to take you back."

Ellen chuckled lightly, "What would be the need?"

The director said, "If you had grown up in the Wood Family, like your sister, you could have had access to much better resources. Have you never held any resentment towards them?"

"Not at all."

Ellen’s answer was straightforward, "These are private matters, unrelated to anyone else."

She was utterly non-transparent, which the female director found made Ellen particularly difficult to handle.

It was also evident that she genuinely lacked interest in the entertainment industry.

Many online speculated that her and her sister’s participation in the program was in preparation to enter the entertainment industry, but if she truly intended to do so, she wouldn’t have declined the various interview requests and promotional opportunities offered by the program team.

With this in mind, the director nearly understood Ellen’s intentions and simply sighed, "After the program ends, we won’t force you to take part in any of the promotions if you don’t like them. Either way, we still appreciate that you and your sister agreed to join the program."

Ellen nodded, and just then, a commotion arose outside.

The staff members were somewhat astonished as a subdued business car drove in directly.

As the door opened, a dignified middle-aged man dressed in a casual plaid shirt and wearing glasses stepped out.

He appeared to be in his fifties, as even his meticulously groomed hair couldn’t conceal the interspersed strands of white amid the black.

Yet, he emitted the aura of a scholar, seeming somewhat old-fashioned.

While the others had not yet recognized him, Ellen had already done so.

She blinked, "Professor Jack?"

The female director: ??????
