Chapter 223: 0223 It’s so fucking delicious_1
Whether Ellen Young believed it or not, Ruffy Smith certainly did.
Geoffrey Hann watched with wide eyes as Ellen went in before Ruffy let him go.
Determined to fight for himself, Geoffrey declared, "I didn’t say I was going home today!"
Ruffy said, "I say you are going home, then you are. I’ve given my word, and if it’s not kept, do you know what the consequences would be?"
Geoffrey: "..."
Pushing boundaries is ok, but there are limits when it comes to dealing with Ruffy.
They didn’t want to see Ruffy get angry.
To the outside world, he seemed to have a quirky temper, but he rarely got truly angry, but if he did...
Tsk, nobody wanted to see that happen.
All Geoffrey could do was bitterly anticipate having to return home after dinner.
He thought to himself that Ruffy was already so domineering without even winning her over; it would be even worse if he did.
He could only wish—good luck to Brother Ruffy on his tough journey ahead.
Of course, Geoffrey wouldn’t dare let Ruffy know about his bellyaching and just went on with his own busy work.
People aren’t fools; when it comes to basic kitchen prep like green onion, garlic, and ginger, Ellen said to do it quickly and she did it very fast, finishing all the dishes around 11 am.
The old hen had been stewing early in the morning, and now lifting the lid of the pot, a delicious aroma mixed with mushrooms wafted through the air for meters, making Geoffrey salivate just from the smell of it outside.
In fact, ever since Ellen started cooking other things, waves of scents had been unceasingly tantalizing the air.
In his whole life, Geoffrey had never smelled something so fragrant.
Odd, he thought, as he had traveled the world and experienced the expertise of famed chefs, but he had never encountered such a strong and delightful aroma before.
And it was his favorite Chinese cuisine too!
Only when Ruffy went to help serve the dishes did Geoffrey scurry quickly to help as well.
There was the stewed old hen, another braised in soy sauce, succulent and tender pig trotters, fatty and tender fish, and several refreshing side dishes that made Geoffrey’s eyes widen in delight.
He hadn’t expected Ellen to actually prepare such a sumptuous lunch.
Although his birthdays were usually super luxurious banquets, he knew from live broadcasts that Ellen normally didn’t cook much. She and Lucy Wood wouldn’t eat much themselves, so being able to prepare so much was already quite an achievement.
This was personally made by Professor Young!
Personally!
Would anyone else be so privileged?
Geoffrey was so moved he almost cried, quickly snapping a series of twelve photographs of the meal until Ruffy, ready to start eating, became somewhat impatient, saying, "Are you done yet?"
Only then did Geoffrey sheepishly put away his cellphone.
When Ellen sat down, she casually mentioned, "It’s not that extravagant, just make do."
Geoffrey wouldn’t dare get ahead of himself, and he hurriedly replied in a panicked tone, "This is extravagant enough. Teacher, for you to do this for me is an honor for a student. This is the most unforgettable birthday I’ve had in my twenty-something years."
Ellen: "..."
Knowing he was just buttering her up, she couldn’t be bothered to care.
Ruffy huffed beside them.
Already unable to resist the tempting scent tickling his nose, Geoffrey picked up the chopsticks and grabbed a piece of the braised chicken first.
The savory taste of the sauce was fresh from the pot, a little scalding, but even when it burnt him, Geoffrey couldn’t bear to spit out the piece of chicken.
His mind felt like it was about to explode from the blast of deliciousness, incapable of finding the right adjective.
There was only one blunt sentence.
It’s fucking delicious!
