Ruffy held her tablet and after a long silence, he said deliberately, "Ellen Young, I graduated six years ago! And you weren’t my professor; you only taught me for half a year!"

"What?"

Ellen Young looked slightly bewildered, as if she hadn’t heard clearly: "I told you to hand in your thesis."

Ruffy: "..."

He couldn’t help but smile: "So this is what you’re like when you’re drunk?"

Chasing people down for their thesis?

Ellen Young jabbed at the tablet, then pushed him: "Hurry up and let me see your thesis. I don’t have much time, and you better not waste the teacher’s time."

Ruffy had given up at this point, leaning back into the chair: "I didn’t write it. Judge me as failing, Teacher, it doesn’t matter if I can’t graduate."

He spoke with a lazy drawl, like a complete rascal.

Ellen Young: "Forget it then, I can’t be bothered dealing with you all."

Ruffy: "..."

Yet Ellen Young’s mischief didn’t stop there; after a pause, she suddenly said to Ruffy, "I’ll give you a math problem to solve. If you solve it, we can put off your thesis for a bit."

Then he watched Ellen Young snatch the tablet back, her fingers efficiently tapping a few times before handing it over again.

At a glance, he saw it was an original math problem she had created, which she used back in the day to stump her students. Anyone who took her class fell victim to it; all were brought to their knees by this very problem.

She would say afterward: "You can’t even solve such an easy question. What exactly do you do all day? Have you ever paid attention in my class? With the way you are, you’re simply wasting my time!"

The students almost cried on the spot.

How could they not see even professional math professors took half a year to solve it, and she only gave them a month — utterly brilliant!

After the solution was published, Ruffy, who was not majoring in mathematics, chose a major that would be beneficial for managing his family’s affairs due to family reasons and only took Ellen Young’s class as an elective. The problem did pose a difficulty for him, but he remembered the solution and now still did. Following Ellen Young’s method, he worked it out.

Ellen Young took a look at his work and suddenly found it odd: "How did you end up with the same approach as the teacher?"

Ruffy brazenly replied, "The teacher and I have a kind of telepathy."

"Really?"

Ellen Young paused, then tapped the tablet and suddenly said, "The teacher will give you another problem."

Ruffy looked at it and knew right away that this new problem she’d created on the spot was so innovative it would leave even Hadton’s math professors scratching their heads for who knows how long.

Ruffy: "Teacher, can I take it home to work on?"

Ellen Young: "Do it right here, with the teacher watching. No cheating allowed!"
