Becoming a Russian Oligarch After Rebirth -

Chapter 679: Chapter 679: Terrifying Experience at Sea_1
This isn’t exactly a tourist hotspot, so of course, there aren’t any private yachts cruising around for sightseeing.
And speedboats, well, they’re precisely the standard gear of pirates!
These boats are small in size, high in speed, cheap and easy to control.
So, if you see speedboats racing towards you in the world’s most notorious straits, you can be sure that the pirates are coming!
"Hurry! Get the high-pressure water gun out, don’t let them near our tanker! I’m going to call for help!"
Roared the bearded Captain.
Of course, he would call for help from the Russian Navy, but whether anyone comes depends on their luck.
If a Russian warship was nearby, they might make it in time.
If they were too far away, well, then they could only pray...
On the deck, a few sailors pulled out the high-pressure water guns and headed for the side of the boat. Some speedboats were already closing in like arrows off the string, the distance too close for comfort.
From the tanker, they could see a few guys, with turbans on their heads and AKs in their hands, standing on those speedboats.
They were also babbling something indecipherable.
On this tanker, they’re not equipped with any weapons, the high-pressure water gun is their only means of self-protection.
Coincidentally, in the past missions, several tankers would set sail in a group, even going so far as to hire warships for escort.
But this time, since there were no other tankers that were setting sail at the same time, and the warships were swamped with tasks, they managed to scrape out some free time.
That’s why the Peterborough Oil Tanker set out alone, thinking that they couldn’t be that unlucky, run into pirates while sailing solo.
But what they were afraid of did come true, they really encountered pirates!
......
Several speedboats had already reached the side of the tanker, and the pirates on the speedboats were already shooting towards them with their AKs.
Along with the ’bang bang bang’ of gunfire, bullets flew over the heads of the crew.
Several scared-to-death sailors activated the high-pressure water gun, a straight white line of water raced towards the pirate speedboat below, directly knocking two pirates into the ocean.
But it didn’t do much good, as the sailors saw several ropes already hanging on the ship’s deck, all in different directions.
Some pirates were already climbing up the ropes with agility.
In the control room, the bearded Captain had got through the rescue call.
He briefly explained that they encountered pirates, then gave his coordinates.
A few seconds later, he received the response on the other line.
They told him to hide, as long as they were not captured by the pirates, a nearby warship would rush over promptly.
The specific time frame was not mentioned over the phone.
But it gave the bearded Captain a reassurance pill, at least there was hope...
......
He stormed out of the control room and headed to the ship’s deck, only to see the crew members stumbling towards him.
"Captain, we can’t hold them off! They not only have guns, but also a bazooka. If we didn’t run fast enough and turned off the high-pressure water gun, they would have launched rockets." said a sailor with a terrified look on his face.
The bearded Captain made a quick decision.
He immediately opened the walkie-talkie and ordered: "Engine room personnel, shut down all power systems immediately and stop the boat. The rest of you retreat to the safety room in the inner cabin, everyone, right now! Immediately!"
The timing of the arrival of the rescue warship was still unknown. Now, all they could do was preserve themselves.
Without weapons, they had no means to fight back against those ferocious pirates.
Fortunately, these big liners all had safety rooms, designed specifically for situations like these.
The safety room is made entirely of steel, stocked with fresh water and food, and once you lock the door from the inside, it’s exceptionally difficult to open it from the outside.
After all, the door and the walls are made of thick steel!
......
Just as the crew members hid in the safety room and locked the door, more than twenty pirates had already climbed onto the ship’s deck via ropes.
No significant resistance was encountered in this operation, and no personnel were injured. The pirates, ecstatic, fired a round at the sky.
This was meant to deter the crew members on board, warning them not to make any rash movements or face the risk of losing their lives!
Normally, pirates are after money and don’t harm people.
After all, each crew member represents a handsome ransom!
As long as the company and the crew’s relatives were willing to pay, the person could return home safely.
But if they didn’t comply and refused to pay a high ransom, well, then the pirates would not hold back...
"Boss, we can’t find anyone on the ship, don’t know where they ran off to. Also, even though the ship is flying Libya’s national flag, we found quite a few Russian flags in the cabins..."
After a round of inspection, a pirate ran over to report to the pirate leader on deck.
The pirate leader heard the report and frowned, something wasn’t right!
It seemed that this ship was not a Libyan tanker with no backing like what they were led to believe from their intel.
This was bad. They’d just provoked Russia, a major power...
But then he thought, his job was to be a pirate, so what was he afraid of?
Russians could be dealt with the same way!
Catch their crew and hijack their ship, then the Russians had to pay a ransom!
So, he said: "Isn’t it obvious? The people must have gone into the safety room. You guys should find the location of the safety room and break the door open. Be quick, I am worried that a warship will come."
That being said, the pirate leader wasn’t all that worried.
This was after all, out in the open sea!
Even if help was called for, surely there can’t be a Russian warship nearby, right?
If they were even a little bit far, then they’d need a day or two to get here.
By then, they would have already taken off with the ship...
Even though Somalia is poor and undeveloped, with limited self-defense capabilities, other countries still wouldn’t just send warships into Somalia’s territorial waters.
The consequences of such an action could be severe.
After all, it is essentially invading another country!
So, as long as the pirates can break open the safety room, get the crew out, force them to start the power system, and drive the oil tanker into the territorial waters of Somalia.
Then, their mission is accomplished!
......
Finding the safety room wasn’t a difficult task, so, after a thorough search, the seasoned pirates quickly found the entrance to the safety room.
Though it wasn’t easy to break through, even if they used a bazooka, there’s a decent chance it wouldn’t work.
Besides, a bazooka, being a "high-end item", was a strategic weapon for the pirates!
It wasn’t something they would easily use...
They had their ways of forcing the people inside the safety room to open the door and surrender voluntarily!
