Becoming a Russian Oligarch After Rebirth

Chapter 626: Chapter 626: Beautiful Today_1

Turns out, this was Zhang Xiaoxi’s plan.

She would find a reputable construction company here in the capital itself.

First, she would present an architectural plan with a fixed budget of ten million US dollars!

Then she would return to her alma mater with the reconstruction proposal and the donation agreement. She wouldn’t be donating ten million US dollars in cash, but rather an entire new campus...

Now let’s see if the school leaders would accept the proposal or not!

Manager Gao pounded his chest and declared loudly, "Manager Zhang, are you underestimating me? I work in one of the largest construction Groups in the country, and it is also state-owned! Let me help you connect with our Central Plains branch. They will handle this affair perfectly."

Although it was a huge state-owned Group company, this project was worth ten million dollars after all.

Having the provincial branch handle the project would surely earn him some gratitude from the head of the branch!

Of course, Zhang Xiaoxi knew what Manager Gao’s profession was and the name of his company. The whole reason she came to discuss this matter with him was because of this very reason.

But she was waiting for him to bring it up himself. She couldn’t volunteer the information.

She smiled and feigned realization, "Oh, I see. What an oversight on my part. Of course, I can place the construction project in the hands of your Group. However, I’ll make my decision after inspecting the quality of your work. Even though it’s a state-owned company, the quality should be up to the mark, especially since this will be our first collaboration."

Manager Gao once again pounded his chest, assured her of an impeccable job, and almost seemed to swear this under the sky.

And so, the matter was settled.

Manager Gao would soon be in touch with the Central Plains branch of their Group and introduce them to Zhang Xiaoxi.

Building a campus doesn’t have specific demands. Just state some general requirements, and very soon a plan would get prepared without the need for a design company.

As long as they get this project, they will offer the design for free!

This way, Zhang Xiaoxi’s timeline of presenting the design to school leaders after New Year wouldn’t get delayed.

......

On January 29th, at around 5 PM, Wang Ye finished his work at hand, got up preparing to leave his office.

But he was not going home; instead, he was heading to the Chinese Embassy for a banquet.

He stretched, checked the time, and shook his head.

Rossiyana, that girl, still hasn’t returned yet.

She had skipped work that afternoon, saying she needed to get ready to accompany Wang Ye to the embassy banquet in the evening.

She was supposed to do her hair, change into an evening gown, and apply makeup.

It was agreed that she would return to the Duma building by 5:30 PM, and then the two would drive to the embassy together.

For the past few days, Wang Ye had been busy working on his agricultural reform proposal.

The last time he had dinner at the Kremlin, he had discussed agricultural issues with Mr. Puding. The Kremlin took it very seriously.

He had been nudged several times by Gavriil, who had been communicating with him daily to deliberate on the finer details of the plan.

As for any resources or assistance that Wang Ye needed, Gavriil assured him that he would help unconditionally.

Because this matter was not only Wang Ye’s responsibility, Gavriil also felt the pressure.

The task wasn’t as complex as it seemed, Wang Ye’s reform proposal had two main points.

Firstly, it encouraged large-scale farming and was inviting private and foreign investment into the agricultural sector, promising advanced machinery and crop varieties to boost the product yield per acre.

Secondly, it would subsidise local agriculture and restrict the import of grains from foreign countries.

With these two-pronged strategies, he believed that Russia, possessing so much arable land, would surely experience a boost in grain production.

......

While standing by the window, staring blankly out the window while smoking, he heard the office door being pushed open.

"Boss, I’m back."

It was Rossiyana.

Wang Ye turned around and was taken aback.

Rossiyana looked remarkably beautiful today!

The golden hair draped over her shoulders, perfectly shaped eyebrows reaching the corners of her radiant blue eyes, a fine, straight nose, and rose-petal-like lips.

All of this made her look like a princess from a fairytale in a bespoke black evening dress that accentuated Rossiyana’s figure.

She wasn’t wearing any jewelry, except for a gleaming diamond brooch at her chest. It made her look even more regal.

Wang Ye nodded approvingly, "Nice, you look beautiful."

Rossiyana gave a sweet smile, "Shall we leave then?"

Both of them left the building together. The motorcade was idling outside the entrance.

......

The embassy was located slightly away from the city center on a secluded street. The building was relatively ordinary, and the plot it sat on wasn’t particularly large.

However, the embassy was decked out brightly, radiating a festive vibe.

The gate remained open, and vehicles went in and out frequently.

Of course, the armed guards at the gate remained, inspecting every car that entered.

Several embassy officials stood by the gate, welcoming guests.

"Hey, Secretary Fang, has Chairman Mikhail’s fleet arrived? The Ambassador just asked again."

A young official rushed to the gate and asked Secretary Fang.

Secretary Fang was the same person who had sent Wang Ye the invitation. Standing by the gate, he was waiting specifically for Chairman Mikhail’s arrival.

The embassy rarely receives a guest of such high profile as Chairman Mikhail. Secretary Fang was somewhat surprised.

When he had sent the invitation, he had expected to be turned down.

"He hasn’t arrived yet, but I just spoke with Chairman Mikhail’s assistant, and she said that they have started and should be arriving soon," Secretary Fang consulted his watch and replied.

The distance from the Duma building to here is quite far. At rush hour, the journey could take some time.

"Okay, the ambassador is in the hall. As soon as Chairman Mikhail arrives, he’ll be at the entrance to the lobby to greet him," the young official said.

Greeting etiquette mattered too.

At the gate, Secretary Fang would welcome the fleet and guide them into the courtyard and all the way to the door of the hall.

The ambassador would wait at the steps of the hall entrance, ready to greet Chairman Mikhail as soon as he descends from the car.

Given Chairman Mikhail’s high status, the ambassador was far inferior by rank.

However, the ambassador represented the image of his country and could not look undignified.

So, this is how things were arranged.
