Chapter 298: Chapter 298 I am of Chinese Descent_1

It’s often said that female students studying abroad let loose more than their male counterparts!

Wang Ye was indeed handsome and his status as a "Russian Chinese" made him extremely appealing to the two girls.

There were certainly plenty of handsome Russians, but Chinese female students studying abroad generally didn’t seek out Russian boyfriends.

In China, girls were typically fawned over by boys but Russian men didn’t share this "hobby," and were typically patriarchal instead.

Hence, female students studying abroad found this hard to bear and dared not pursue Russian boyfriends.

Conversely, male students studying abroad had a liking for Russian girlfriends. They were not only beautiful and well-shaped but also had great personalities.

The main reason why the two girls took an interest in Wang Ye was his "Chinese" identity, coupled with the fact that his Mandarin was incredibly fluent, making him far superior to pure Russians.

Before Wang Ye had a chance to respond, the three guys already felt a prickling sensation of bitterness.

In the community of students studying abroad, there were far more males than females.

It’s already a case of "more wolves than meat," and these three guys were still single. As they tried to flirt with the two girls in hopes of making good friends, Wang Ye appeared and stole the limelight.

One of the guys sarcastically commented, "That’s redundant! Mikhail is Russian, right? He could easily court Russian girls, I’m sure he already has a few girlfriends!"

Well, he might have been speculating, but he hit the nail on the head.

Yet, Wang Ye couldn’t admit to it and laughed, "Ha, I do indeed have a girlfriend, but just one."

When the girls heard that Wang Ye already had a girlfriend, their faces fell with disappointment, but the three guys let out smiles.

As long as he didn’t compete with them, he was a good buddy!

The truth be told, these two girls were quite ordinary. Not to mention Angelina and Nova, even Nalan Yaqi was much prettier than them!

Wang Ye had absolutely no interest in them whatsoever.

As for the three guys, Wang Ye just exchanged courteous pleasantries with them and had no intention of becoming close friends.

Having been a part of the academic world in his previous life, he understood too well the habits of these students studying abroad, especially those studying "social sciences", "economics", "politics", "journalism" and such.

Without exaggeration, all of them were here just to obtain a diploma!

Some of them were so slack that they wouldn’t even be able to get a diploma. They couldn’t be bothered to attend the daily classes, preferring to stay in their dorms playing computer games, or working part-time as interpreters at the market.

After spending several years in Russia, they still hadn’t mastered the native language. Their Russian was so broken that they couldn’t even carry out a clear conversation.

In the future, few of them would be successful after graduation, except for those whose families had some assets and who would have something to inherit.

If their families were just average, then their prospects would look rather bleak.

Of course, stellar students did exist. Students like Ruan Xiaozhu, Yanzi, Song Xiaogang, for instance, were very dedicated and achieved good results.

Some even stood out more, earning doctorate degrees in fields of natural and applied sciences in one shot!

Russian universities were relatively easy for undergraduate students, especially for students studying abroad. If they attended classes regularly, earning a diploma was largely a breeze.

However, obtaining a doctorate wasn’t so easy. Honestly speaking, it was much more challenging than in China.

...

Apart from these five Chinese students studying abroad, Wang Ye also acquainted himself with some other Russian students in the class.

Perhaps due to the decent backgrounds of the Russian political science students, there were quite a few handsome guys and beautiful girls among them. A handful of students were even decked out in luxury brands, immediately suggesting they came from wealthy backgrounds.

Yet, Wang Ye did not stand out among them because these students were more concerned about family backgrounds!

Nonetheless, his unique "Russian Chinese" identity and his excellent fluency in both Russian and Chinese left a deep impression on them.

On the first day of the new term, most of the students in the class remembered this student called "Mikhail."

Even though quite a number of students in the class probably came from well-off families and were likely "officiallings" and "rich second generation," Wang Ye had no interest in getting close to them.

The truth was, they weren’t on his level.

Wang Ye himself was a "first generation".

To be fair, the parents of these students might not even be on par with the current Wang Ye.

......

On the first day of the new term, Wang Ye diligently stayed at the university all day long, doing what a new student should do.

He probably wouldn’t come to school every day in the future, considering he had so many things to handle at his company. He didn’t have that much spare time to spend attending classes.

As such, he might come to attend classes maybe once a week, ensuring he established good relations with the lecturers of each of his subjects and making himself familiar to them.

Thankfully, the Political Department was a field that was easy to get by and many students often missed classes. The lecturers got used to it as well.

The family backgrounds of these students were quite impressive and they wouldn’t have to worry about employment after graduation.

The lecturers generally didn’t make life difficult for these students and they certainly didn’t put pressure on their exam results. As long as they were performing satisfactorily, they would pass and even receive excellent grades.

Who could tell, in a few years, one of these average performing students in the department might rise as a new star in the political arena.

It might seem impossible but the Political Department of Moscow University was indeed a cradle for Russian politicians and it had produced quite a few big shots.

......

When school ended around three in the afternoon, everyone dispersed. Some went to play sports at the gym, some went to the library to borrow books for study.

Of course, most students went straight back to their dorms to cook and rest.

Wang Ye had also applied for a dorm room, in the Main Building Dormitory Area

Being a student at Moscow University and not staying in the main building would certainly be regrettable.

Other university dorms, regardless of their conditions, were just dormitories after all.

But the main building dormitory of Moscow University was different.

It could almost be considered a "Historical Site".

Living in this nearly hundred-year-old building made one feel quite sentimental, almost surreal.

Moreover, the Main Building structure was vast, home to several thousand rooms. Even old Moscow University students like Ruan Xiaozhu would occasionally lose their way.

Though he had already received the keys to his dorm, it was Wang Ye’s first time visiting it.

He roamed around the main building a few circles, asked several students, and finally found his own dorm...
