Chapter 256: Chapter 256: Getting a Bit Too Intimate_1

After chatting for a while, the two got up together.

Wang Ye was getting dressed, and Nalan Yaqi was busy tidying up the bed.

He happened to see Nalan Yaqi pull out the white bedsheets and fold them. He curiously asked, "Why are you packing that up? It’s a public property of the school."

A blush appeared on Nalan Yaqi’s face. She glared at Wang Ye and said impatiently, "You... why do you ask so many questions? How can I leave this thing behind? Others might see it."

Wang Ye seemed to understand something, grinned, and didn’t say anything more.

After tidying up, the two left the room side by side.

While going down the stairs, Nalan Yaqi suddenly weakened her legs and staggered, grabbing Wang Ye’s arm quickly.

"What’s wrong? Did you twist your... oh, let me help you down the stairs."

At first, Wang Ye did not react and thought she had twisted her foot, but then he remembered something when he was halfway through his sentence.

He helped Nalan Yaqi out of the dorm, their cars parked side by side on the roadside.

A black Mercedes Benz, a white Cruiser, the shapes of both vehicles were relatively domineering, both tall and large.

They made Zhang Ke’s little Lada parked not far away look rather pitiful...

"Are you going straight home to rest?" Wang Ye stopped and asked.

Nalan Yaqi nodded, "I need to go back and sleep. There’s nothing to do since it’s vacation."

"Okay, can you drive, or do you want me to take you home?" Wang Ye asked with concern.

"You go ahead with your things, I can drive." Nalan Yaqi felt warm inside. She didn’t expect Wang Ye, this "straight steel man," to care about her.

"Then I’m off. Call me if you need anything."

Wang Ye didn’t insist; he waved his hand, turned around to his car, started it and drove away quickly.

......

Arriving at the company, he entered his office. As soon as he sat down to have a cup of coffee, his phone rang.

Wang Ye looked at his phone. It was A Bu.

A smile appeared on his face. He answered the phone enthusiastically, saying, "Uncle A Bu, why are you calling me now? Is there anything you need?"

A Bu’s hearty voice came over the phone, "Misha, do you have time tonight?"

"Of course." Wang Ye replied succinctly.

"Then come to my mansion for dinner tonight. I’m going back to Chukotka in a few days, and I wanted to chat with you before I leave," said A Bu.

"No problem, I’ll be there tonight," Wang Ye immediately responded.

"Alright, see you tonight."

After hanging up the phone, Wang Ye frowned.

A Bu invited him for dinner tonight?

He didn’t believe that the trip would just be for a simple meal, as neither he nor A Bu were the types with much free time for social calls.

There must be something important he wanted to discuss!

However, what A Bu suddenly wanted to discuss was a mystery...

After visiting the Emperor in the Kremlin the day before yesterday, he agreed to join A Bu’s party.

But over the past two days, he hadn’t had time to discuss this matter with A Bu.

But then, A Bu beat him to the punch.

That’s fine, tonight was a good opportunity to discuss this with A Bu.

Although he wasn’t very interested in politics, it was a "mission" arranged by the Emperor, something Wang Ye couldn’t refuse.

Plus, for him, being a Duma member was quite nice.

This position may not have much actual power, but the status that comes with it is exceptionally high...

In all of Russia, there are probably only a handful who would dare to oppose a Duma member.

The members might not be able to help you much, but if they wanted to ruin you, that’d be too easy!

Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that Duma members have a real privilege - judicial immunity!

For this alone, Wang Ye wanted to be a congressman...

......

A little past six in the evening, Wang Ye had already arrived at A Bu’s mansion.

Presumably under A Bu’s orders, the guard at the gate made a quick check and then opened the gate, allowing the two Mercedes Benz to enter.

When the car drove to the small square in front of the main building, Wang Ye was surprised to find that A Bu was standing on the steps!

It was clear that he was welcoming him.

Typically, Wang Ye, being the younger one, didn’t require A Bu to come out and welcome him personally. A butler’s reception would have been sufficient.

But now, he had come out to welcome him personally!

From this, it was evident that A Bu no longer viewed Wang Ye as junior, but as his equal!

...

Wang Ye got out of the car, and A Bu stepped quickly down the stairs.

Both men wore smiles on their faces, stretching out their hands to shake each other’s warmly.

After shaking hands, A Bu affectionately put an arm around Wang Ye’s shoulders, "Come, Misha, I didn’t invite anyone else this time, just the two of us for dinner and a chat."

The dinner didn’t seem to be ready yet, so A Bu took Wang Ye to sit in the living room first.

Two maids brought hot coffee, along with a variety of pastries and candies.

A Bu took a sip from his coffee cup and said with a smile, "Misha, I heard you’ve been close to Gavriil lately?"

Wang Ye was slightly taken aback, then replied, "I wouldn’t say close. Uncle Gebruilai has been taking care of me. Last time here at your place, A Bu, I got a hotel. Given the current situation, running a hotel business is hard to make money, so I thought about setting up a gaming center, a gambling entertainment center..."

He explained the situation at Xiao Ying Hotel to A Bu.

Although Wang Ye had not publicized these things and not many people knew about them, these weren’t trade secrets. If A Bu wanted to find out, he could easily do so with a few inquiries.

After listening to Wang Ye’s explanation, A Bu nodded, still wearing his signature smile.

He carefully chose his words and said, "Since there’s no one else here, I’ll speak frankly. If you find what I say makes sense, that’s good. If you don’t, then just pretend I never said it, okay?"

A thought flashed through Wang Ye’s mind. It seemed that what A Bu was going to say next was important!

He nodded and said sincerely, "Uncle A Bu, please feel free to speak."

After some consideration, A Bu began to speak:

"I want to advise you not to get involved in politics, especially with Gavriil. He’s an old fox, and you can’t outplay him.

Even though we haven’t known each other for long, I can see that you have a fantastic business talent. Combined with the fact that you’re Khodorkovsky’s nephew, you’ll surely achieve greater accomplishments than both me and your uncle in the future.

But if you get stuck in the political muck, you’ll have a hard time getting out.

This government will not tolerate the emergence of a new oligarch!"

Wang Ye remained silent, but he was pondering in his heart.

It was not surprising to him that A Bu would say these words, as A Bu was a smart man. On the surface, he seemed to be close to the Emperor and his circle.

But in the end, he played a clever trick, "escaping" directly to London, never to return...

This goes to show that he’s not entirely in sync with the Emperor.

But sharing these words with himself felt a bit premature...
