Becoming a Russian Oligarch After Rebirth -

Chapter 1188: Chapter 994: Art Treasures
"Do you smoke?"
Wang Ye asked with a smile as he picked up a pack of cigarettes.
The percentage of Russian girls who smoke is not low; it’s similar to that of boys or even higher.
However, both girls shook their heads in unison, cheerfully declining and saying they don’t smoke.
The girl who, in Wang Ye’s eyes, was the most beautiful curiously asked him,
"Are you a university student, or from some art troupe?"
Because in her mind, Wang Ye seemed to be of an age somewhere between university student and recent graduate, making it difficult for her to judge his exact age.
Wang Ye hesitated briefly. He didn’t want to lie, but it also didn’t seem appropriate to disclose his true identity outright.
So he vaguely responded, "I just graduated this year and started working."
He hadn’t lied, merely avoided being too specific.
To the girls, though, it naturally seemed like Wang Ye must have graduated from an arts institute and was now working in a related field.
They assumed he was working at a large theater or within an arts group in the state, likely a minor, unknown figure—an "insider" like themselves.
In the midst of the casual chat, Wang Ye had already gleaned information about the two girls.
It turned out they both were students at the Siberian National University of Arts Dance Department, selected to participate in the "Swan Lake" ballet drama performance.
Especially the most beautiful girl, who was also the lead female character in this ballet drama!
Her name was Donia.
Hearing this name, Wang Ye joked, "Too bad my name isn’t Paul Korchagin."
Donia blushed shyly with a laugh, it was rare to see a Russian girl who blushed so easily...
The other girl laughed and said,
"Donia really has quite the charm. She had a large group of boys chasing after her at school, but she’s very picky, didn’t fancy a single one.
Now you’ve just met her, and you already like her, don’t you?
Let me tell you, Donia isn’t just pretty—if you wait to see her dance, you’ll understand just how captivating she really is!"
Donia, slightly embarrassed by her classmate’s words, explained softly, "I just like to dance, and I dedicate all my time and energy to it, so for now, I’m not considering... dating."
Wang Ye nodded in approval,
"That’s quite good; while young, go all out for what you love.
No matter what the future holds, at least you won’t regret not making the most of your best years."
Feeling that what Wang Ye said was quite pleasing, Donia nodded happily and then asked him curiously,
"You’re not some sort of minor leader at your workplace, are you? The way you speak...
How do I put it, it’s like when the principal talks to us during a school assembly, hehe."
Her classmate quickly nodded in agreement, "Right, right! That’s the same impression I have. You’ve just started working, so how did you learn to speak like a bureaucrat already? That’s not good."
Wang Ye was somewhat speechless; he, accustomed to high positions, had naturally adopted that way of speaking.
So when facing these two girls, he subconsciously spoke that way.
But thinking it over, to others he appeared to be a young graduate, so speaking in a stodgy manner was indeed rather odd.
His only choice was to offer an awkward laugh and say, "I’m not a minor leader. By the way, my name is Mikhail, it’s a pleasure to meet you two."
He didn’t want to keep up a pretense any longer and simply gave his real name.
Thinking to himself, with the name "Mikhail," these two naive girls would immediately understand who they were talking to!
Unexpectedly, the girls showed no reaction upon hearing the name!
Donia simply nodded slightly, calmly saying, "Nice to meet you, Mikhail."
The other girl said, "We’ll just call you Misha then. We have several Mikhails at our school, including school leaders, teachers, and students; it’s a very common name."
Wang Ye was left completely speechless; these two girls were adorably "clueless," not even recognizing his name...
That wasn’t right, though; they probably had heard of him, it’s just that these young girls wouldn’t normally care about politics, and "Mikhail" is indeed a very common name, so they certainly wouldn’t connect this name to the big shot in Moscow!
Since they didn’t know who he was, there was no way he was going to introduce himself by saying, "I am the Deputy Speaker of the Duma, Director of the National Economic Commission, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Secretary-General of the Collective Security Organization, and the advocate for the Mikhail Plan, among others..."
That would be totally devaluing himself!
Just as Wang Ye was scratching his head thinking about how to ease the awkward situation, Donia looked up at the clock on the wall, exclaimed in surprise, "Oh! It’s time to gather, we need to go for our stage rehearsal, goodbye Misha."
The two girls quickly stood up and hurried towards the exit of the rest room, leaving Wang Ye with no choice but to smile and wave goodbye.
However, as they almost reached the door, Donia suddenly stopped, turned her head to look at Wang Ye, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "Misha, maybe... we should exchange contact information. You probably work around the big theater, right? I might have some questions to ask you later on."
Before Wang Ye could respond, she pulled out a piece of paper and a notebook from her bag, quickly wrote down her phone number, walked over to place it in front of Wang Ye, peered at him quietly as she bent down, and then quickly turned and left.
